Monster Hunter isn't that well known in the West.

I said that spacing the release would be better. Ideally, MHXX would be holidays and MHW March of whatever date Capcom is planning right now.
Also, we are under the assumption that MHW is the next big thing in Monster Hunter and wouldn't fall short when compared to XX, as it is an old gen game. In fact, we should expect World to be a significantly more compelling product, which is a very different situation than the scenario you posted.
As in Nintendo example, Return of Samus is designed to increased the interest in Metroid, not to lessen it.

It's not as well known as it could be. Hasn't been on a home console other than the WiiU for a long time.
Don't bother, trust me. He just goes around in circles and than yeah it's on PS4 that's basically it.
That's because it doesn't work as a console game. I was excited to play mh3u on Wii U. Bought it first day and played with my little brothers who each had the 3ds version. I ended up having to double dip and buy the 3ds version because it was best way to play. Take it with me on the go or even laying on the couch. 300+ hours later I never transferred my character back to Wii U.It's not as well known as it could be. ^ wat? I'm talking about a game that's been mostly restricted to handhelds
No its like the same. You gonna still not release a pokemon on 3ds only for releasing a switch pokemon game 5 months later. One version is gonna suffer because of this. It doesnt matter which one.
^ wat? I'm talking about a game that's been mostly restricted to handhelds for generations, where in the West the majority are console gamers.
The whole world isn't on gaf. Console gamers haven't seen a MH since the PS2 (except for the few that got a WiiU).

so you mean like pokemon
sure hindered its popularity
I'm not sure if he is trolling or doesn't understand how successful handheld gaming has been. Do people think if you throw a game on a console that it will sell more??? History probably shows the opposite for a lot of games. Some games just sell and work better in portable formso you mean like pokemon

There was nothing stopping Capcom from announcing XX for the west earlier this year and launching it in September for example. There is nothing forcing Capcom to release MH:World in Q1 instead of Q2 next year if they care about spacing titles. You are literally just making shit up here. The current situation we are in is entirely because Capcom wants it to be so. Not because "it doesn't make sense so their hands are tied". Stop.
Why do we keep going back to MHW? It's coming, it will probably be great, but some people want MH to be portable (spoilers: the franchise has been mostly portable for a decade and built up a fanbase) and the new portable entry on the new portable console isn't coming. You can push the big new shiny thing and also keep the current fanbase happy.

I'm fully expecting a fall Nintendo Direct and Reggie saying "We heard the fans and we are proud to bring MHXX to Nintendo Switch, Summer 2018."And they'll likely still do that, once World is established here.
We've already talked about it and why they wouldn't announce it at the same time.

Right, because monster hunter sells anywhere near as well as pokemon in the west.
This could be huge, so I'm not surprised they're putting so much effort into it.

You must quoting someone else because i dont claim anyhting that you state i "made up".
I just explained why would Capcom act in such a way because as people like Atram pointed out it makes sense they want to promote MHW rather than XX, try to give shape to decision. Nowhere i claimed the business plan (as in putting MHW in their early 2018 fiscal plan for example) of capcom could not be done elsewise. Seems more productive to me.
But i suppose is not productive as "lol capcom wants to kill mh" and "sony moneyhats" i guess *sigh*
How awesome would it be if a dev for MHXX didn't localize the game but went in and put English names for just the items so it becomes easier for people to import and still play the loot grind. You'll miss the story but you'll atleast be able to kill bosses and read the names of loot. Would be amazing. If it's not on PS4 it's not relevant. He even said it in a previous post, xbox,pc and PS4 people have high expectations like handhelds don't matter, I am still trying to figure out how to ignore ppl on this forum.
As previously mentioned this is quite a gamble by Capcom, the western markets will have to off set the sales lost by Japan portable market. And for MHXX I think we can forget about a western localised version until MHW is out which imo is too late for switch owners. I mean I most likely am gonna import it and will skip the western release and Capcom being capcom would just assume there's no market for portable mh in the west.

As a fan of Ace Attorney, I see no reason to believe this.
And I don't see how a confirmation that "we have plans to bring it over" would be counted as announced at the same time.
We shouldn't be giving shape to such a fucking stupid decision. It literally does not matter that Capcom wants to promote MH:W at E3 because that isn't what people are pissed off about. If we all knew XX was going to be localized we wouldn't be having this discussion would we?

Yeah it's crazy how people are doing mental gymnastics to justify what capcom is doing. A quick search will show how most franchises that capcom try and make with a western approach don't break 2 million world wide. All of these are big budget titles that prob has capcom not even making their money back with development cost as well as advertising. All capcom did was shoot themselves in the foot upsetting fans of the the franchise and create confusion around the future of the series. If it isn't broke don't fix it.If it's not on PS4 it's not relevant. You sure do talk a lot of rubbish. Luckily, I know how to use site features.
Japan is getting a portable MH.
Are you? I think you're trolling, because MH World looks nothing like a game that needs millions to break even.
Not given a clear message on XX has blown up in their face and taken attention from MHW

what you also ignoring is that what you require is they would annouce this at the same time and this would be "smart", which is like exactly the opposite
Can you pls stop building strawman? I didnt stated one time it would come to a deinterest or "kill" the hype. What happens is fatigue and market saturation. This is only a accelrated by the fact that it comes out on different plattforms so your other companies being "smart" and rerelase older games argument dont even aply here.
And again, this does not change the fact that nintendo doesnt do that, like i state it. Nintendo does something like this when its actually smart, like in case of super smash which is essentialy the same game, putting on 3ds and then later wiiu.

Does actually matter very much because if i am right they gonna annouce it later as in never
also i rather try to make sense of things then meme posting and console warrioring actually
If an spaced MHXX Switch release is enough to cause market saturation and series fatigue, then Capcom's is doomed with this series anyway. :/ There are scenarios where what you are saying indeed makes sense, and is when you don't have confidence in your products and are trying to cut your loses. if this is the case, now is a good time to sell your Capcom shares. :S
Again. If we all knew XX was coming would we be having this disucssion?
And miss me with the console warrior none sense. I bought a 3DS just to play monster hunter. The thing is $200 in Canada and I bought it to play 2 games (the only 2 games I own for it). I dont give a shit about the console. Stick to the discussion

not so great one, but i did..
Anyway Capcom never care to saturate the market when it was to put on the table 3 resident evil on the same year, i don't get why it should not be the same for MH.

Capcom had all the time in the world to localize xx since it came out on 3ds already. The switch version could have easily been a world wide release in the summer. That's gives them plenty of time to market world all they want. This smells like a corporate decision from someone who doesn't understand their product and the userbase. To make monster hunter mainstream it would cease to be monster hunter. The learning curve is to high and it's game design is rooted in non western game mechanics. Capcom just doesn't understand the audience and it shows in almost every product they have been releasing lately.not so great one, but i did..

Well I think capcom is hoping to grow the series past the usual handheld market, they probably did not expect the switch to be such a hit and since monster hunter fans tend to follow the game and not the console, I guess they are trying to make the western market fans to jump to the home console series. It's easier to make the western market to move to the home console compared to making the Japan market.
Let's say for example if mhw does 6 plus million based on just the western market, capcom will be able to just focus on home console and force the Japanese market to the home console. So it's a long bet but if it works it will make them a shit load of funds.
All of the above is just what I am guess and not based on facts lol.

6 million??? Didn't they want resident evil 7 to get 10 million and it didn't get to 4. Maybe one day it will get to 10 million with a flash sale on pc for $3.99. If capcom wants monster hunter to sell 6 millions then everyone with a PS4 in Japan would have to buy a copy. That's Sega logic during the dreamcast days. How did that work out for them?Well I think capcom is hoping to grow the series past the usual handheld market, they probably did not expect the switch to be such a hit and since monster hunter fans tend to follow the game and not the console, I guess they are trying to make the western market fans to jump to the home console series. What is the sense in that question? I already said i try to make sense of things. You acting, again, like i am saying "well Capcom totally nailed it how they handled the situation", pls argue with me instead of a imaganriy person.
You aren't making sense of things you're literally just damaged controlling for Capcom.
And yes capcom is a dumb company, like konami, its like nothing new
The entire basis of the argument you're making ignores the fact that they've had over a year to announce that they're localizing this game. At this point why shouldn't people be pissed off at them, why should they be given the benefit of the doubt?.
Konami should hire me for their dmg control pr i guess, but glad you figured it out
i dont know should ask the guy who wrote we should not be pissed at them, like the many other things you claim which never stated. Really getting tired ouf your accustations.
Anyway, the game is already made.
So, in a future, it's a possibility they end up bringing it to the west. It 's not so blocked this road.
Simple yes or no. Do you think that it makes sense that they haven't announced XX yet if the intention was they were going to localize it?

When is that future? Several months after MHW? Then don't bother. We are not waiting over a year for a game that's mostly localized and that could be released in the next few months.Anyway, the game is already made.

When we talking about capcom like stated? Yes
