Your Favourite Female Character Designs in Gaming?

Shanoa, Castlevania: Harmony of Despair
Felt really sad for her at the end of the game. She was left all alone to try and deal with Dracula, succeeds but people she cared about had died and/or betrayed her. It's rare that I worry about what happens to a character after the ending.

Wicke from Pokemon Sun & Moon.

Tracer from Overwatch. Best female character design this generation bar none and one of my all time favorites.

Her colors, goggles, and bomber jacket are instantly recognizable and they blend together so well.

I feel like I'm forever repeating the same responses in these threads.

Jeanne D'Arc
Looks nice, great character.

Lin, Advance Wars
Looks serious and capable. Steps up to commander like a champ.

Mila, Dead or Alive 5
Mila-Dead-or-Alive1.gif

The only girl in the series that looks sort of normal to me. She also reminds me of Vanessa (KoF)

Elika, Prince of Persia 08

I like how casually she uses magic like its nothing (except for story scenes). Her clothes isn't anything too fancy but I find her instantly recognizable and she looks pretty cool when lit up using magic.

Elma, Xenoblade Chronicles X
I found her interesting. I was interested in knowing her motivations and wanted more backstory on her. Her ability to lead and her combat prowess while obviously good didn't really interest me as much. I get this dark sense of feeling from her which I find fascinating.

Leona & Blue Mary, King of Fighters

Leona has a fighting style that allows her hands to cut like a sword. That immediately attracted me to her but I quite like the army setup.
BM is a fun grapple character. I'm not a huge fan of the massive belt but her animations and design looks fun.

Glory & Lucky Strike, Shadowrun

Glory looks a bit creepy, cold and distant. Which is exactly what she should be from the story and I was intrigued to find out why. She has very old, chunky cybernetic arms that are so ancient and out of place that it also suggests a story to it. Lucky Strike has that bossy confident look. She is always swapping gossip with you and sharing little bits of lore throughout the universe. Her story suggests she and her team are quite capable and she isn't bad as a mercenary either.

Mom, Rakuen. Danielle was cool too.
Best mom.

Doesn't read OPs, especially not his own
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn are full of great designs, but Titania takes the cake. She's one of my favorite characters in gaming. Capable, cool, stronger than most of the men, attractive without being sexualized, kind and caring while also being relatively pragmatic about life. Win situation all around.

But since this is mainly about her design, she just looks really badass. Plus, her name is really cool too. In English and Japanese (Japanese was Tiamat)

This right here

wish there were more old women in gaming. sure beats moe shit.
Agreed. They're painfully rare. (You should name that character though. Who is she?)

Queen Alicia (Trails in the Sky) is cool:

Dahlia Gillespie is a cool villain:

And of course the best older woman in gaming, Eileen from Bloodborne <3

* Sona's not that old, more middle-aged with an adult son, but even those are sadly rare

I always have trouble with these threads due to the prevalence of waifus designed specifically to elicit boners from straight guys (re: literally every female Dead or Alive character ever) and the severe lack of muscular women in video games in general.

Hence, my answers are quite limited. For now, I'll go with:

Makoto of Street Fighter
Undyne of Undertale
Leo of Tekken (yes, they count)

Small list, unfortunately. But them's the breaks.

Maybe Bayonetta if we factor personality into the design. Otherwise I have no idea, there are far too many amazing female character designs to narrow it down to any meaningful list.

Man, there's just too many to pick from. I haven't seen a lot of Bioware characters mentioned but I do think they have some very nice, although admittedly simple, character designs.

Cassandra from Dragon Age Inquisition is a very strong warrior for instance and reminds me a lot of Chris from Suikoden 3 (who I saw posted a page or two ago!). Although Chris has a more feminine design, I think Cassandra's still hits that distinction of being strong but pretty.

And I can't forget Morrigan. She's the poster child for the whole series. Her purple motif has always stuck with me, as has her witch of the wilds costume complete with raven feathers. Her Inquisition ball gown was a delight and perfectly matched her fish out of water experience.

I used to like Cassandra in Soul Calibur II:

and from the same series: Seung Mina:

and Xianhua:

and let's add another vote for Makoto Nijima:

Even though I sadly haven't been able to play it yet I love how Imca from Valkyria Chronicles 3 looks.
My favorite from any fighter would be Nyotengu from Dead or Alive 5.
And one that I haven't seen mentioned yet and love how she looks is Sorceress from Dragon's Crown, sadly I prefer Amazon for gameplay.
Honorable mention to Etna (Disgaea) and Tron Bonne (Megaman Legends) that I love but only consider ok design wise.

Chun. There have been countless females with qipaos and/or ox horns, but her design still remains more distinctive than all of them imo.

Since most of my faves have already been mentioned I'm gonna give a shoutout to Haru Okumura from Persona 5. Especially her phantom thief outfit. Love that design
