Persona Dance Revealed [Trailer]

P5 has a pretty awesome OST, shame about the game not really utilizing it all that well. But there is certainly enough material to get a good selection of nice remixes out. P3 has loads more nostalgia and catchiness going for it, so no worries there.

That said, the games have to change quite dramatically from DAN for me to give them another chance. DAN was the most unfun rhythm game I've played in recent memory, from the basic gameplay to the small song selection (full of uneven quality remixes) and the biggest offender: most beatmaps feeling way off. I love both Persona music and rhythm games, so I was kinda surprised that a combination of both could leave me so disappointed.

Perhaps he's wondering why someone would shoot a man before throwing him out of a plane.
They needed a new design.
I mean it just strikes me as kinda odd to omit the earphones from a character where they were a central part of his design.

Also, they already gave him the funky fresh kicks.

Will buy the LE if such a thing exists

Then if the gameplay is as off as P4D's was, will sell the game but keep the (I'm expecting to be) phenomenal soundtrack. Just like with P4D!

Definitely didn't expect this. I read the thread last night where a poster wished for this exact thing though. Must be a dream come true for them haha!

Couldn't help but think of this in regards to the Persona 3 Protagonist (spoilers i guess?)

I'd wait before making exaggerated posts about this game's status in the timeline (it's likely a "for fun" game)

Seriously, some of ya'll are way too goddamn obsessed with canon.

imo, it's Atlus that's too obsessed with canon - rhythm games don't need story modes at all. But Atlus has this idea that "it's a Persona game, so it must have a Meaningful Story", so we get stories anyway, even if they are lame and dumb and add nothing to (and, in some cases actually detract from) the game.

The best case scenario for these games is that they just embrace the sillyness and not even really bother with a story.

I actually didn't like Persona 3's soundtrack. I love the soundtrack to 4 and 5, but 3 just didn't do it for me. Maybe when I replay it I'll give it more consideration, but I didn't find it catchy at all. To be fair, I played it after I played P4G on Vita, so I was in love with that style compared to 3.

Despite sinking more hours into P5 than the other two (I want to say 130 for P3, 147, for P4, and 180 for P5), I find that it's easier for me to recall the P4 tracks than the other two, although I think I enjoyed, while in the moment of playing the game, the P5 soundtrack more. Weird.

Lovely news. Having only played P5 and P4G, I might want to try P3, or perhaps wait for a remake. The songs are quite good indeed. Love the crowd reactions!

I absolutely adore P3's (and FES and P3P) but I'll be the first to admit it has a roughness to it that P4/5 doesn't have. So I can understand people not liking it.

However, I think it does have its fair share of good music. Personal taste at play here though. Anyway I look forward to the music, and really hope Soul Phrase from P3P is an option.

Also hope Minako is maybe a DLC option?

I'm not particularly big on these rhythm games but my god the persona 3 trailer sold me. I can't not have P3 Protag break it down on the dance floor to burn my dread and school some fools. HYPE!

I wonder if P3 getting it's own dance game gives us more hope for P3 complete edition that would join all content from FES and Portable versions.

Tbh its that roughness that makes the OST special and unique compared to P4 and P5. P4 imo is too Jpopy and makes it meh while P5 OST is good the singer lacks vocals in the vein of Yumi.

Yumi and Lotus Juice make the best kind of combination for P3 and the reason why I consider the OST goat.

The one thing I feel P4 has over P3 is that its boss battle song is a lot better. I mean don't get me wrong, I love the various battle themes in 3, but none of them hit me right like I'll Face Myself does (though the theme for P5 is damn close). But yeah the roughness does lend something and the singers are excellent too.

It feels that way to me too. It's kind of annoying. They have much worse things to be ashamed of than some port concessions.

I was talking to some friends who are all female gamers, and between sweeping FeMC under the rug, the directors comments that P4's story 'needed' a male MC and how poorly P5 treats Ann, the general feeling among them is that it's becoming harder and harder to feel that Persona isn't actively hostile to fans who aren't male otakus

We get a remake of Persona 3.

But there isn't a single trace of Minako.....

The only way to get a FeMC again is that all the story bits are animated using their own engine instead of using anime cutscenes.

If they make a remake of P3 with P5's engine (and I hope they do) that's what's going to happen. They owe us that definitive edition of P3.

I don't think it's animation that's the issue. They seem to actively want to pretend she was never a part of P3. Like she wasn't even mentioned in fucking goofy spinoff games like Persona Q! Hell, when was the last time we saw any official art or products with her in it?

Persona 5 has awesome music but a dancing spinoff just seems... unnecessary and out of place ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Because Persona Q, like Ultimax, is canon to the Persona storyline so there's no reason to mention her at all.

Well, I'm pretty sure there was a FeMC player icon for Persona 4 Ultimax and that's it lol. I do agree that it is weird that Atlus seems to give a nod to other characters that were introduced (be it Theo or FeMC's exclusive S.Links) while she herself is largely ignored.

Well, because she's never been part of the official story of P3, goofy spinoff or not. When they can, they include her (like in that play). They literally had to remove things to fit the game in the psp and to compensate for that they added her and changed the game a bit to give us an extra route.

They don't say it directly but adding an extra route needs more assets, new social links, different scenes, adjustment to dialogues, etc. and it's okay if they don't want to do that because the game wasn't conceived like that originally. But instead of saying that they are very obtuse when they get asked why there's no FeMC for Persona 5 and people react to those poor statements.
