Out of the Phantom Thieves (without counting MC or Goro) Makoto and Yusuke were my favorite so I'm glad to see them so high. Poor Ryuji tho.

To be fair only Makoto, Morgana and, in a lesser extent, Futaba have some impact past their palaces. Ryuji, Ann, Yusuke and Haru are just there because you need party members.

Ok I guess shit was too strong a word, I just didn't like the character. There were a lot of people who said he gets better towards the end but I didn't feel that.
Agreed. Aside from Ohya who is just funny to hate on, Akechi was the worst.

Ryuuji's in the dumpster covered by another dumpster where he belongs. Worst persona bro by miles.
I get disliking Ryuji for a very specific thing he does a couple times, but seeing the love in this thread warms my heart.
Akechi I disliked the whole game, but I still appreciated his character (like fucking Nagito from Danganronpa), but the moment the game tried to make me feel bad for him I lost it, what a joke. Definitely the game's lowest point narrative wise.
Also it's kinda surprising to see people particularly like Hifumi and even Chihaya. I mean I don't hate them, but it's like being passionate about white bread.

Makoto, Futaba and Ryuji are my favorite party members (Them + Morgana got the best character development out of all the party members imho). So I'm happy with Makoto and Futaba's placement but Ryuji deserves more love 
I'm also happy to see Akechi and Lala Escargot get a lot of love. Tho I already knew Akechi was super popular with the amount fan art he has.
Also Captain Kid had my favorite Party Member Persona design sucks to see it rank so low.

They have great designs and Hifumi was supposed to be a party member, so she has that going for her. Their confidants was nothing special but I still got attached to Chihaya just by sheer virtue of going to see her every.single.day since her confidant perks are godly.
i think it's pretty silly to accuse a character of having 'no personality' and furthermore insinuating the only people who could like her character could only like her because they're creepy otaku-types when you profess not to have even cared enough to see if there's anything that was peeking under the veil. haru's whole conflict in the first place stems from her lack of agency in her life and it's clearly demonstrated as something she has a problem with dealing with but sees no way of getting around until the thieves appear. her confidant elaborates on this.
certainly, p5 could and should have done more with her character, but you can probably refrigerate your take a few degrees

Instead you were just a raging hypocrite and a stereotypical "dark twisted cute rival boy with daddy issues" and all of this was revealed in information dumps, which didn't even bother to explicate just which crimes were yours (who killed Wakaba?).
Really surprised people liked him that much.

Akechi number 1 confidant hell ya! The top three Phantom Thieves is probably the same for me too, except slightly different order (I would do Makoto, Yusuke and then Joker)

I don't why Haru is so high, but I can understand not liking Ann. After the first arc she was just there. The occasional focus that she would get was mostly to sexualize her and do stupid stuff like "pose nude" or "Ryuji looking down her shit" and stuff like that. Even her confident was all over the place.

Really man? I don't remember Ann doing anything that warrants that kind of reaction.
I do however agree with her just being "there" after Kamoshida. She showed a lot of promise too. Especially when she preferred Kamoshida to atone for his crimes because she thought it was a punishment worse than death.

Maybe that's too rough, but after the "my best friend almost killed herself" and "I almost got coerced into having sex with Kamoshida", I don't remember anything about her other than "I want to be a model".
Hell, Yusuke doesn't do anything notable either, but his personality and interactions with Futaba were fun enough for me to like him a lot.
I like Yukiko a lot better, but I can agree with that, Rise is so lovable.
When I noticed that Ann was the Lovers arcana I was disappointed. That perception didn't really change during the entire game for me. :/

Nah the way he died annoyed me lol. The guy didn't warrant a tragic antihero death scene and then you get one of those annoying Persona scenes where all the girls have to emote and show they're girls and not guys.
