Technically the final day for bestbuy.com orders should be end of business on Friday. It’s usually an 8 day hold before your order gets cancelled and refunded. Then it’s up to whoever works the reports to put them back on the shelf. It’s a very ymmv type of situation. It’s way easier with in store orders since after 5 days you can just put them on the shelf no questions asked.

Good point, I was talking in store. So there you go, next few days/into the weekend might be able to snag one. Keep an eye out.

Hopefully I can trade my extra NA version for a SFC version. Let's hope they're plentiful as well.

How about Soul Blazer? Is it a problem with all Quintet games?

IIRC, Soul Blazer (and probably ActRaiser 1) is basically the only Quintet SNES game that doesn't have some of protection that makes the game freeze at the Enix logo with some forms of emulation (yes, including Robotrek). Even with the NTSC patch, I remember Terranigma being really iffy about tripping up the region protection "PAL consoles only" screen.

What are the chances of finding one of these in the wild today?

Any anecdotes that would help me decide to either get out there and look or spend my day doing something else?

I'm sure you can just walk in to any mall
to meet the Craigslist scalper you'd be buying it from.

I really wish they had put in a hot key on the controller to trigger the rewind feature so I wouldn't have to keep hitting the reset button on the console. It was my one big gripe with the NES mini as well.

Or just give us a button combination in the pause menu of a game to reset to main menu.

It really is a hugely annoying and super avoidable problem, especially if you have a short attention span and want to swap games a lot.

Not only does the shadow not display in Air Strike Patrol, but the hi-res text is unreadable, and the commander's speech screen has garbled graphics. Sad times.

I also can't get Uniracers to work at all, but that may just be me.

Soul Blazer works perfectly.

It has arrived at my local post office after the mail person has went out for today, so it'll be delivered tomorrow. Thanks, UPS for not just stopping past my house and dropping it off.

Not going to pump my fist in victory until it's in my hands; my post office has a habit of losing things for weeks at a time.

The real reason I went with the PAL version is because I already own the original NA SNES and I wanted something different, as the NA SNES is still connected to my TV.

Now, to not open it for about *thinks* a week or so? Yeah, that sounds about right.

Have really been enjoying my SNES since picking it up on launch day.

Besides random matches of Super Mario Kart, and messing around with Yoshi's Island (one of my all-time favourites), I've been replaying Super Mario RPG. I was obsessed with it when it first released, and still have very fond memories of playing it while holed-up in my bedroom with my friends, but I haven't done a dedicated replay in well over a decade. (I was sort of waiting for it to be released on 3DS VC). Everything I remember loving about it is still there. Hilarious, great battle system, fun world/characters. I'm on my way to Rose Town.

I've been playing exclusively with the CRT filter, which I think does a decent job (though nowhere near as comprehensive as some of the CRT filters available for Retroarch/OpenEmu, obviously. I'm a fan of CRT Easymode.) I struggled with the short controlled cords, but since getting extension cables and being able to sit about 8 feet away on my couch, the experience of playing on my 40' LED is nice enough--especially considering the convenience of the overall SNES mini package. Long term, I'm not sure it will replace emulators on my PC, but I'm very happy with the purchase.

So has anything been released about hacking this thing to upload more games yet? If you are not an pro on that sort of thing, I mean.

So I'll only be able to start playing mine this weekend and wondered if any of you kind people could recommend any co-op games?

So yesterday I slouched on my new couch, got my lamb wool comforter (it's getting cold up here in Canada!) and then completed the first dungeon of Zelda using an OG SNES controller.... Life is good lol.

Whichever Moderator decided to place the status of the hack in the title thread is a amazing. It's saved me vast amounts of time scouring this thread and GBATemp in desperation!

Me too.
It was scheduled delivery for the 5th but I guess it just shipped faster than they estimated

My 8/22 order still "preparing" and scheduled for tomorrow. I don't believe them. Fuck Walmart hard. Wish they'd just cancel my shit or at least push the delivery date out so I can stop checking it every couple hours.

Same here.

I talked to Walmart CS last night and they promised me that it would be shipped and delivered by the 5th.
I don't believe them.

Add 6 days on to when it actually ships. Mine shipped out on 9/29 and is delivering 10/5 from Walmart. Was told the same thing about "shipping and delivering the same day". Total BS.

The flight plan I just filed with the agency list me, my men, Dr. Pavel here. But only one of you!
SNES actually ended up being brought to work due to an unexpected turn of events. I have the thing in my hands but can't do anything with it yet.

Hmm, I wonder if there's a way to remove the protection?
