Some friends recently replaced their PS4 and said they couldn't find a pro. I'm guessing it's been more popular than expected and that Sony probably wants to build supply for black Friday sales.

My buddy was trying to track one down all last month. He was able to just get one before they went out of stock again a week prior to the Spider-Man release. I am still considering one come BF.

Did Bloodborne 2 come out after all?
Was it listed anywhere that the PS4 Pro has been discontinued? So don't be a dumb fuck along with your "options" for why it was discontinued. And are you such a little child that you need to go look at my post/thread history to try justify a shitty thread like this being created?

Interesting. I just checked brickseeker and there is no inventory or low inventory at 15 walmarts within a 23 mile radius of my zip code.

Weird. I've seen multiple at GameStop, BEstbuy and Target in the past week each store having about 4-5 of them. None being the Spiderman one I wanted to get. So they definitely have a bunch here in Orange County CA

Stock is pretty poor where I am in the UK too.

A friend has been looking for one and got told by game he would have to order one online with a 2 week minimum wait time.

He ended up having to get a used one.

Lol, he said shortages. There's shit load of them here..anywhere I go, BBs, Target, at Jersey Gardens at least here in NY area we're covered.

And there's no such thing "shortages of Pro" it doesn't exist lol.

Do not know if there is a shortage but Amazon Mexico moved the price from $425.00 U.S. to $525.00 U.S. so maybe demand surpased offer.

Just checked the Target and GameStop apps, almost all models are OOS around the Bay Area. I see one Spider-Man version at one GameStop.

I guess they are all in NY.

Calm down there chief and read the thread. There are are areas where they are barren.

I wonder if they are getting ready to release a new slim version of the pro. Maybe in time for black Friday? Seems a little too early to start phasing out stock though.

The Target near me had none in stock and only 1 XB1X on hand. Amazon, BB, and Gamestop were out of stock for a good part of the past few months (just what I've noticed) but recently saw more Pro's back on the shelf. Probably produce enough to meet sales projections while the baseline PS4 is the big mover.

I think they just plain don't stock a lot. When I was looking for one last year at a brick and mortar store (Gamestop, Wal-mart, Target, Best Buy) they didn't have any in my city but new ones arrived a week later.

I've noticed for the last few weeks here in Atlanta, GA that there aren't any PS4 Pros available anywhere either.

I've been considering getting one again and trying my luck to see if it doesn't sound like it is about to take off (I sold my original one because it was ridiculously loud - I sit no where near my consoles, and it was distracting as hell, even with the volume up quite loud).

I thought it was weird that I couldn't seem to find one, but I definitely don't think it is being discontinued - I think it is likely a combination of supply chain issues and trying to figure out what appropriate stock levels should be, as let's face it, the vast majority of people are going to buy the PS4, not the PS4 Pro.

The Target in Clifton had one ...at least this morning when I was there ...I'm never really sure how accurate these things are .

When it gets down to 1 here and there that may not always track, but to hear someone say "there are shitloads here" "we covered" ... every location would not say, 'out of stock'. Says that where I am at as well for both stores and I have yet to see one. When they get them, they are gone fast. Could not be pressed with digging into the others since I bet the results are the same.

There were already articles on the shortage.

I haven't visited Target or BestBuy in a month or two but the Walmart I hit today for a new headset had none and hasn't for some time. Their game selection is pretty dang good though. My best friend had to go online to get his through a third party. I got mine a few months after it released when I finally got a 4k TV. Outside the noise I love it.

I'd wager it could be the import prices, maybe Sony playing it safe and not manufacturing too many to judge demand, but I believe most of all the reports a while back about chip problems was the main culprit. Also could be holding back for Black Friday along with MS for a big push for the Pro and X.

Its crazy how many X's I find on retailers. Or how they haven't done a LE for one considering LE's are one of the things MS usually does right.

If they do announce a PS4 Pro slim, I hope they have figured something out with the cooling. If they are able to quiet it down, I'd definitely get one. I do wonder if they would be able to do that with a "slim" though, as it seems like the original PS4 Pro possibly needed to be a little bigger.

Meanwhile, back to the launch PS4 for now.

Man. All the GameFAQ style replies along this lines of, "OP you stupid idiot, there are no shortages, what a stupid thread, you dumb moron", stopped pretty quickly, huh.

I'm glad NeoGAF isnt overly moderated any longer, but some of these types of posts lately have been embarrassing.

Why would Sony throttle production? They came out with Spider-Man and GoW SEs which sold well, why bother making a SE if you don't want to sell consoles? And if they don't mind making SEs, why hold back non-SEs? Surely Sony can project sales a few months out.

7nm PS4/PS4 Pro & Xbox One / Xbox One X coming soon?

They might even be part of the reason why AMD moved all it's 7nm chips to TSMC

Those are third party sellers...

Right, but that's because there are none available via the proper channels (because of shortages). No matter what anyone says to your original post, you are right - there is a shortage. Why we don't know.

Yeah and it's been that way for months. Hard to believe that we're about five years into the current generation and that the hardware prices are still this high. Even trying to get a standard PS4 on offerup or letgo is going to cost you over $300.

Agreed. This generation has been very strange in that regard.
