I guess MS getting them back for this.
That was honestly great PR that Sony capitalized on. Funny as well

Do they have an answer for God of War, Detroit, Yakuza Kiwami 2, Dragon Quest XI, and Spider-man?

Microsoft has come a long way. 5 years ago they were saying stuff like "If you're backwards compatible, you're really backwards".
It's kinda telling that anytime Xbox One does something, the Sony fanboys' only response is "but but exclusives". Because that's the only real advantage PS4 has over Xbox at this point.

My plastic box is better then your plastic boxFirst post triggered.
But yeah, I’d guess their answer is but a PS4?
No, that’s the only advantage PS4 fanboys has. They want to show everyone that their purchase is best, and use every or only reasons that they have which the opponent doesn’t.
Normal PS4 players literally don’t care, or would even like to have other play the games they enjoy.
Here we go with the console wars. At this rate, I'm going to end up maxing out my ignore list before the year is through lol
I'm glad Microsoft is sticking to them every chance they get. Sony has been really anti-consumer when it comes to supporting BC on PS4.
I agree. I game on Xbox One, PS4 and Switch myself and I can't really be bothered about which is better because I like all three. I just find it bizarre how cult-like PS4 fanboys are. They'll be the first to squeal like stuck pigs if you say anything negative about PS4 or Sony, but they can't miss an opportunity to slag off Xbox. I'm pretty sure if Sony sent them a shit in a plastic bag with instructions reading "put in mouth", they'd still find a way to defend it and try to explain why this makes PS4 better than Xbox.
It's kinda sad, because Sony has made a lot of missteps with PS4 this gen. They're not nearly as "for the players" as originally advertised, but we can't begin to address that until the fanboys take their Ritalin and stop defending every anti-consumer move that Sony makes.

There's nothing wrong with owning only one console. Everyone has their preferences and not every platform will appeal to to everyone.Congratulations on being in the privileged position to not care as you own everything.
Not everyone is as fortunate, but feel free to just degrade people.
There's nothing wrong with owning only one console. Everyone has their preferences and not every platform will appeal to to everyone. The difference is how some people choose to behave when it comes to discussions regarding platforms they don't own. People feel the need to justify their purchase by shitting on anything they perceive as competition. It's childish, petty, and quite frankly pathetic. The sooner those people wake up and realize how stupid and pointless console wars are, the more fun it becomes to discuss a hobby we all share regardless of the platforms we choose to play on.
Having some obsession and connection with a piece of plastic is just weird to me.Welcome to life, people do it about football teams, what cars they drive, what area of town they buy a house in, if they are able to buy at all.
Even in other sides of gaming, I've seen so much from the fortnite-pubg playerbase.
People are competitive, and want to win something, even if there is nothing to win.
Here is a classic: Nintendo pushing a novel idea, releasing a miniature version of a classic console, and Sony putting a me-too product.
To be fair, the XB1X was announced firstHere is a classic: Sony pushing a new idea, releasing a more powerful version of their console, and Microsoft putting a me-too product
And seriously I totally understood it that way. Granted, I never owned a Microsoft console, so I had no idea how their BC model works. I assumed it could be part of Xbox Gold or something. So yeah, I'd say it's totally misleading (possibly on purpose). You really think this would lead people to believe xbox is giving away 500 free games? Even a single person?
Like let's be serious here.

The X1X announcement was a reaction the "Neo" rumours. All evidence seems to indicate Sony started planning the Pro first. To be fair, the XB1X was announced first
Although I'm not sure which one had their initial rumours pop up first.
List wars ! Fuck YEAH ! Bring it on !Do they have an answer for God of War, Detroit, Yakuza Kiwami 2, Dragon Quest XI, and Spider-man?
I thought I remembered seeing Neo rumours first, but I wasn't 100% sure. The X1X announcement was a reaction the "Neo" rumours. All evidence seems to indicate Sony started planning the Pro first.
I think my issue with this is what old yet iconic retro games do they have that warrants an Xbox Classic? Because this feels like a shaky jab.
To be frank, Nintendo is the clear winner for having "old yet iconic retro games", followed by Sega, then followed by Sony.
Btw. SEGA released their own Classic console 4 years ago
You've got some, but the problem is that most of them have been remade and some of them are BC with the XB1.I think my issue with this is what old yet iconic retro games do they have that warrants an Xbox Classic?

So outside of weird people like me wanting a mini version of every console simply out of nostalgia, I don't know how big the market would be.
You don't want to know the things I'd do if it meant getting a mini TurboGrafix 16.I doubt the market will be that big tbh, only a handful of companies have that legacy to pull off a "classics system". Top of my mind are: Nintendo, Namco, NEC (TurboGrafx), Atari, and PlayStation (namely the first).
Plus the 6th generation has a huge gap in terms of emulation versus the 5th gen (heck PCSX2 isn't even perfect yet). So I really doubt we'll see a PS2/Xbox/GC classic systems anytime soon, and that's the generation where Microsoft's console legacy started.
They also suggest that they dropped those plans (which included disc DRM btw) early on because the investment was too costly for them back then. So instead, they adopted the same kind of DRM the 360 had...The rumours say Sony was planning the same DRM as xbox at launch, actually with no game sharing.

And what does that have to do with our exchange above? The poster I replied to was wondering about the Pro and the X.
If there was a way to play all PS1 games on the PS4 less people would be interested in this device for the sake of nostalgia. With no BC Sony can offer only 20 games and people will still be all over it. I know that it's possible to play (selected) PS1 games on the PS3, but most people use only PS4 now. This has nothing to do with BC. It's same product like NES Mini or Snes Mini. For people who love nostalgic things. Did you know that NES mini was the best selling product in NPD 2 months ago?
That 'answer' totally misses the point.
All those 'mini' consoles are more of a nostalgia thing that a console to play games.
I dont have fond memories on a machine I just bough one year ago.
What about SMTIII Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga 1&2?To be honest, I don't really consider the sixth generation as nostalgic and retro yet, I guess unless it's very early 2000s (namely for KH, FFX, and Dreamcast games).
What about SMTIII Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga 1&2?
I didn't enjoy them coz I was young so they don't hold much nostalgia factor for me.
*ducks*
I wouldn’t say it's badly worded, anyone with sense know that the actual game isn’t free(physical, digital) but the ability to play them requires no additional purchase/hardware if you already own the game and obviously have the console, also this came from the UK twitter account, as for the bold part do you really need to ask why?
Said this in the other thread but will say it again.
To play the game, you need the disc which you will have previously purchased in one way or another.
Therefore, it’s not free.
