They have made a shit load of money by simply making a good console this gen and starting out with the above attitude. I can't think of the last pro-gaming bit of news out of Sony that wasn't the result of huge pressure and outrage. Studio closures, anti-consumers policies, cancel fan expo, and now anti-dev policies is all that comes to mind.

Regardless, there is a big opportunity for Microsoft with the upcoming generation, and it looks like they are going all in with the big spending, studio acquisitions, PR wins, and innovative pricing plans, Nintendo's successful fusion of handheld and home console seems to worked. I wonder if Sony thinks merely having a good console but without the 4theplayers attitude will work. PS5 reveal is going to be very interesting.
