Its debut appearance revealed the first-person RPG draws strong inspiration from the Fallout series, but takes place in a brand new outer space setting. The comparisons aren’t surprising, as The Outer Worlds co-directors Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky are two of the individuals most responsible for the original Fallout game’s release in 1997.

Bet this will be on Epic Games Store. PS4 and Xbox One are confirmed to have a physical release:messenger_sunglasses:

Definitely interested in this game and it shows Obsidian still has it. It has me excited with what they can create in the future for the Xbox.

Mikey Dowling, the director of communications in question, posted a cryptic tweet that pretty much teases fans about an upcoming announcement for The Outer Worlds, which is supposedly going to happen on 06 February 2019

If Epic has driven a dump trunk of money to Obsidian for an exclusivity deal, I really hope Obsidian's PR team is a good one. Because they are going to be getting shit on in light of the Exodus backlash.

The "Fallout" we have been waiting for.

After Fallout 4 a am done with Bethesda.

Hope Obsidian finds a way to emulate the V.A.T.S. system.

The Game Informer looks meh, but the article seems like it will be a good read. The Outer Worlds looks great.

I'm looking forward to this. Need a big rpg with a full world that I can fall into. If not this then I hope Cyberpunk will do it for me.

You forgot a VATS like system^^

From what I can tell of the story it seems like this is the story the writers were originally gonna do for Fallout 2 yeah? Tell me I'm not crazy.

Do we know what story F2 originally had?

You might be thinking about Van Buren, due to weird scientist, but the only big similiarities are him and well that it had a space station.

You're forgetting the Steam, P34 and Xbox around the 2.45 mark

No romances. Thank Christ. They're rarely (never?) handled well.
And its not like Obsidian has proven they can do them well. NWN2s were terrible, Alpha Protocol's only somewhat work in a pulp spy novel sense and POE2's were... yeah not so good either (And the game showcases that it could have used the time spent on them in other narrative areas).

Great video, can't wait for the game.

Having watched a number of these GameInformer quickfire Q&A's I really appreciate how he answers "not in the way you are thinking" for a number of questions instead of something vaguer that could be misconstrued, e.g. "...in a way", "...wait and see", "...I don't want to ruin anything", or "..."
