May not be the absolute worst, but I would have been severely disappointed if Superman64 didn't show up.

anything cell shaded looks ugly to me, if you want to cut corners making a game you should go the low poly route because it looks clean and is nostalgic.

I can deal with old games that look bad. It's normal. It is newer games that can have problems. A Link Between Worlds is one of the ugliest games I've ever seen. It's the art style. The lumpy character designs, the harsh colors, the weird plastic sheen to everything, the really bad attempt to mimic the SNES art. It just looks awful and I found it a really unpleasant game to play.

So games either needs to be hyper realistic or low poly!?

so.....you prefer Jump Force style visuals over DBZfighters and Guilty Gear?
no it's not either/or and i didn't say they should stop doing cell shaded games.
cell shading looks ugly to me, and yes i would enjoy those games alot more if they weren't cell shaded.

I'm trying to play through Thief of Thieves on Xbox Game Pass and I haven't seen graphics this bad for a long time. The screen tearing is beyond crap considering the low quality graphics. Really a blurry mess with screen tearing.

It looks like your average PS1/N64 game. Fine for the time.
Coincidentally the N64 had a lot of games with bad graphics, that were fine at the time but they did not age well.

on another note, I came to post Superman 64 but was beaten. :/

I'm going with Dream Quest
It's not just that it's poorly drawn but that there is no coherence between various parts. Funny thing is, the actual game is absolutely fantastic. I've put well over 100 hours into it. The guy who made it, Peter Whalen was snatched by Blizzard to make the single player part of Hearthstone after they noticed a lot of their HS designers were playing DQ on their breaks

Shadow Archer, the first game i ever tried on WiiU.

While it is an indie game, of course, and N only charged $3 for it ... its just too simple, lacking and controls were clunky.

And speaking about WiiU ... Chasing Dead.

Simple Unity graphics with terrible performance (both framerate and actors). And WiiU version lacks some levels, probably because the game could have entered into the single-digits region (Crysis Ascension level once again).

PC version looks better and performs much better in a mid-range PC but it still sucks tbh.

Nothing is worse than low g man and street fighter x Tekken for me. Both games made me legitimately nauseous.
I kinda agree with SFxT. Shading was awful, they tried to do a more complex Street Fighter IV shading and failed miserably. Some backgrounds were great tho, like the Jurassic Park one.

Sorry, I was asking for D DansDans

Wow you're an angry child

I'm sorry that I dont know the name of all the shitty games getting post here - isn't it just courtesy to post the name of the game so people can make an accurate comment? Not of all of us spend all day on message boards knowing every game ever made for every system

Welcome to JurASSic Park: Trespasser. It plays as good as it looks (when it actually plays, that is).

Edit: Dishonorable Mention (Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi)

Jurassic Park: Trespasser was actually an amazing looking game at the time of release (1998), and needed a monster PC to run. It was also one of the first open world games ever.
I think the point of this thread isnt really showing old games and how bad they look now, but more how bad they looked even at release.

but why? i think it have great graphics for a gamecube
If there wasn't another Zelda game on Gamecube with an infinitely better art style that has withstood the test of time, you would have a point.
And as for good looking Gamecube games, the first two Metroid Prime games and the Resident Evil remake are superior.
The HD remake for the Wii U looks even worse since the lower specs of the GCN smooths out the rough edges and looks slightly less ugly.

TL;DR:
Because The Wind Waker exists and it looks a million times better.

It's not the worst but a big personal pet peeve of mine is ugly 7th gen console graphics, there's just something about shitty graphics in HD of this era that I find really offensive to look at, especially the brown and grey color palettes.

Haze is a perfect example of what I'm talking about, the game looks so much fucking worse than Timesplitters 2 and 3, it's hard to believe it's from the same developers.

The 7th gen was in some ways a downgrade over the 6th, it just really brings back bad memories to look at crap like Haze.
