Right. Game was alright at best for me. Didn't really dig the gameplay, and the main character was incredibly bland and NOT acted well. She also has a single arc throughout the game. I really liked the world building and the Oldest House was a good setting.

My GOTY is a tie between RE2 and DS. DS resonated with me a whole lot more from a story/setting perspective.

Really looking forward to playing it if ever becomes available on PC outside of EGS.

seriously though... GOTY means nothing.

everyone has their own GOTY. i might respect a GOTY award if it was voted on by the entire gaming industry.

Nope, I have no even played DS, waiting for the PC version.
same. i'll probably pick up a cheap code when it's less than $5. if it doesn't go that low. oh well.

Well they give Death Stranding Best PS4 game.

i can kinda respect that. it is a PS4 exclusive game right now in 2019.

no exclusive game should be eligible for GOTY. it has to be available for playstation/xbox/pc and if it's on Switch that gives it more credibility.

I played through like 3/4 then stopped for whatever reason and forgot everything that happened.. I liked what I played it was pretty fun...I'm just going to wait for the DLC then play it all at once.

Haven't played it but I expect to see more of this. It seems like this year's critical darling in a year without any clear best game.

Death Stranding is also the Best PS4 Game of 2019 according to our readers, handily beating out the competition with nearly 70% of the vote in our People's Choice polling.

But they did not put the People's Choice Winner in GOTY 2019 lol
Every category has the People's Choice Winner but GOTY 2019 that they removed the Pool because Death Stranding was winning.

PS. They added late but added.

Not a bad game, but there were SO many better games released this year. Of course, IGN would never seriously consider anything developed east of Finland and Poland for the final prize (unless it's Nintendo).

Ace Combat 7 was my game of the year, and by a long, long shot.

While it's not my favorite of the year, I'm glad that it was a game that was unique. I'm still going through it now slowly, but it is bland so far.

For me, it's Modern Warfare right now. Insanely fun game in COOP mode.

Weak year tbh. I think my goty would probably be Days Gone but its it's not getting any love.

Control gets better, its a bit bland at first but i was glad i pushed through.

Very good game and surprising. Has some of my favourite moments of this year (the Hotel and Ashtray maze). Don't know if it does enough to edge out Fire Emblem though for me personally.

Control is Remedy's worst game to date. There have been far better games this year. Death Stranding, The Outer Worlds, Resident Evil 2 just to name a few.
