Lets not forget the pro and x are barely used for their potential other than running current games prettier.
There was not a single game that was designed just for these consoles.
I got the upgrade due to my 4k tv but they are both a big waste of potential.

The new consoles be it 9 or 12 will be fully utilized and thats what counts.

I have a 4K set, and the Sony scaler in their sets have 1080p looking native anyhow, the urgency to upgrade was not there for me.

Not to mention they lived up to their word that first party games would not suffer on the base model, and has HDR as well.

At this point nobody has concrete or official numbers either way...…People have to understand these are leaks, some of us are just sensible/logical in pointing out, that there's no way the XBOX will have such a lead on PS when they are launching at the same time, when in typical situations, launch aligned, PS always came out ahead......

1080Ti is 10 TF and it was released in 2016. PS5 will be released right before 2021 and it's gonna be only 9.2TF for the next 6-7 years?

Always on, higher price played biggest factor.

Well, the worst part is that it was both more expensive AND performed less (in a way that was noticeable to anyone paying attention). All the while everything else was close enough for about a year or two (no top of the line exclusive titles on either side).

Note that the PS4 also had more smaller to mid tier titles from the start, there was not a single week where there was no release in the first year! It may have been minor titles a lot of times, but there was something new all the time. I loved that period of the PS4 life cycle.

I'm on Mobile atm and their mobile site is pretty convoluted.

I'm pretty sure there's no Sony TV that's below 25ms of lag and most are above 30ms

edit: oh wow I googled it, they actually reached 21ms!

well... that's alright I guess. but I switched from a 22ms screen to a 14ms because I had issues in Apex.
I play on a PC Monitor aswell, and switching back and forth literally fucked up my aiming on the 22ms screen because the difference between 2ms and 22ms is huge once you get used to 2ms.

14ms is manageable and on One X at 120hz freesync it goes down to 7ms.

4k @ 60 Hz + 10 bit HDR 21.4 ms

Sony has been lowering them every year with their models, and CES should have even more improvements with 2.1 spec additions.

If they don't improve, then I will just get an C9 or C10 (depending on improvements) when looking to upgrade this year to HDMI 2.1 for the next gen consoles and PC.

9 tflops will be a flop if true. However with Microsoft focusing more on the pc they will be releasing games that will make use of the pc hardware power, hopefully. 9tflops will basically allow their first party AAA games to be played on 4K 60fps and nothing more. It won’t even feel like a next gen console, instead it’s gonna be ps4 pro 2. Highly doubt physics and AI will be the focus for any Sony first party studios either, most will still aim for this linear emotional campaign with even less obvious jump in terms of graphics.

Usually the insiders know stuff, they just can't talk in certainties, I am sure DF (not NX gamer) has other info and 9.2 is probably legit... Which is over 5 times a base PS4, and that shit played GOW.

The SSD and improved CPU will make a big difference in and of itself, 9.2 seems like a good number to me, not as high as other rumoured specs, but good nonetheless when you see what 1.8tflops on PS4 got you with a notebook CPU.

Gtx 1080 has 9 tflops. The most basic model of 1080. And Vega 64 has 12,6 tflops.
But the 1080 beats the vega in almost every game. So it's not all about tflops numbers.

The PS5 being 9-10TF wouldn't keep me from buying the thing. I like the exclusives on PS a lot more, They've always spoken to me more. But, I'll admit that I would be a little disappointed, I would like the next gen consoles to have parity in terms of power. That way the real difference between the systems would strickly be the quality of games and their services.

You may be seeing the argument from different people, who also happen to own a PlayStation.

I stand in the middle for this, a consoles performance matters to the extent it let me play what I want to play at a reasonable price in a convenient package... The PS4/pro fits that bill pretty well so far, so it's reasonable to want it's follower to be as good as it can be.
