Netflix original shows are a crime against humanity

Like Hulu is any better

Finished watching Living With Yourself with Paul Rudd. It was great and I think it avoids all the usual tropes and plot points that involve an accidental clone. It felt new and fresh throughout

I like Daybreak. It definitely improves after the first few eps. Leans HEAVILY into gay/feminist topics but is still pretty funny and damn if Matthew Broderick isnt a joy to watch.

Could have used nudity/more gore (what doesnt?) but for a teen oriented show with a potty mouth to justify that TV-MA rating it ain't bad.

Big Mouth is another good one.

They have a lot of kids stuff my kids binge watch over and over. Probably what will keep me from cancelling 6 months of the year.

That is utter nonsense. Up that minimum to 90 for “quality” and watch Netflix fall to 0

EverydayBeast

thinks Halo Infinite is a new graphical benchmark
Stranger Things
BoJack Horseman
Mindhunter
Ozark
Daredevil S1
Master of None
The Crown
and Glow

are excellent show imo. I stopped paying for Nexflix in January though, and one of the reasons is the lack of good new shows. The other is the absurd price for 4k streaming.
I'm not convinced anyone is going back to rewatch these shows like a Lost, Dark Knight, or the Office.

Netflix finally has something decent to watch "The Devil you know". It was a good limited series that shows a person wrongly convicted and Nazi paranoia fueled by The United States of America and Israel. Are there other similar cases/shows?

Just felt the need to spread the word about Midnight Diner: Tokyo stories

It's a show happens mostly in a diner in the middle of Tokyo that is opened from midnight till dawn, it's menu only has one item but, he will serve anything he has the ingredient for. the show is more about the customers, what they ask and why they ask it rather than the chef or the restaurant itself. I find it incredibly soothing, interesting and filled to the brim with charm. Bonus : food with sometimes explicit recipes.

Love, Death, and Robots was cool

I loved that shit. It was like was like watching stories from heavy metal. Season 2 is coming at some point. The one on the farm was my favorite.

If you liked that then check out sturgill Simpson sound and fury. Gets a bit slow towards the end but it's still pretty interesting. It's on Netflix also.

The only Netflix original I'm looking forward to right now is Kingdom season 2. The rest is garbage or became garbage in later seasons. Like for instance Santa Clarita Diet had awesome first two seasons, but you can feel that they were assigned their own propaganda officer for season 3.

The first two seasons of Stranger Things were great. The third season everything just got a bit weird and light-hearted. Wish they kept the more serious tone of the earlier ones.

Why did I know that this show would be the trigger of this thread...

Yeah, I saw Daybreak. Pure garbage. But I had to finish it still.
I enjoyed it, was solid dumb fun. There were some episodes that dragged, mainly flashbacks, but overall it was above garbage tier.

For real? I was just coming in this thread to recommend Daybreak lol.

It's stupid teeny bopper shit, but not too stupid. Almost perfect to the point where the child actors at least feel natural.
There is no sjw agenda. In fact, the show has every oppurtunity to go down that road and it actively chooses not to. I fucking respect the hell out of that and it results in a show that feels how normal people interact with each other. They address everything from race to gender to sexual preference to mental health and none of it feels forced at all.
Its subjective, but I also love the choice in soundtrack.
The witch lady is genuinely a fucking crazy character.
It also might be my favorite Matthew Broderick role since Ferris Bueller.
You owe it to yourself to at least watch as far as the episode that is narrated by RZA from Wutang. Shit was a goddamn masterpiece of cinema considering it looks like it was made on a b-list syfy show budget.

Edit: op should go an watch Maniac if they haven't yet. Best thing Jonah Hill and Emma Stone will ever do, period.

Been watching Daybreak, it’s pretty cringe but it has its high moments.

Mindhunters is a brilliant masterpiece

also both Narco shows are great!

I liked Stranger Things season one. They lost me after that.

Same thing happened with Mindhunter.

I guess this month was worth it for Irishman, but other than that I've barely consumed any Netflix content this past year. The recent propaganda is annoying as well, I live in Canada and give zero fucks about watching a doc on Ocasio-Cortez or the Rise of the ALT RIGHT. Would have cancelled a long time ago if it wasn't for the misses streaming repeats of Friends and Gilmore Girls all the time.

I really like the original Marvel shows and Disenchantment. I really need to sit and watch The Dark Crystal series.

October Faction is fucking garbage.

Had the misfortune of watching the first episode last week. It's a perfect combination of awful writing, terrible acting, repellent characters, low budget production values, and preachy woke-ness. The father character was so annoying and miscast, it bordered on parody.

So the kids are mega entitled. One of em is gay because fuck it and even thought it tries to be Buffy/Supernatural it is just dull.
