While Nintendo very clearly makes games that try to appeal to everyone, I always thought it was funny that the games that are held up as some sort of paragon of maturity in comparison are usually some variation of playing Soldier Mans with lots of violence and blood for violence and blood’s sake.

In movies or books, maturity is equated with intelligence and quality, not killstreaks and how many gibs are flying across the screen.

You leave gibs alone, you hear me?
joking

But on a serious note, people actually talk shit about games with a lot of gibs and consider them immature. Often times those games are throwback shooters and are played by 30+ year olds that have family and kids. Not that it matters, but I felt it I needed to say it.
I don't consider nintendo games childish any more then throwback shooters. If we're gonna look at it like that, then all games are childish.
I personally don't have anything against nintendo games but I don't like Nintendo. I don't prefer their games and stuff. But if people like them, then that's okay. We all like different stuff. Variety is the spice of life and all that jazz.

Or almost all. Of course, if you enjoy something, it doesn’t matter if it appeals to more childlike desires in you. Just best to not have any pretensions about the matter.

I wish mod team used thread-bans more regularly to help cut down on derailment. Don't discriminate: warn and then ban those who take the bait from the thread, too.

There are some posts that I cringe at not because I feel strongly about the post itself but because I know the next page and a half is gonna be people who feel the need to reply and to drag the thread off track. When the thread is only on page 1 or 2, that's a death sentence for the discussion and you might as well move on to another conversation.
