So, he was badly sexting to a married women over DM in 2014. Probably drunk from the looks of it, still a sleazebag move. It's something, nowhere near anything people need to end his career or really anything that should be aired over the internet (especially since she apparently *forgave* him, which means he did apologize for that already.), but..... something?
Twitter (and other platforms) really need some kind of policy in place that prevents sharing private text messages and conversations with other people. They are enabling blood-crazed mobs to bully others and become judges. What a vile, abhorrent place, jesus christ...
Nope. You are from Germany right? Here in America our laws have gotten worse ever since this me2 crap came out. Shit was bad before but it somehow has become worse because of it. For our justice system there is only capital gain from all this shit so they just play the part. They already let a large majority of men get locked up over the dumbest shit. The easiest way for some of these subhumans to get cash now is painting every dude like fucking R.Kelly and boy if you can't afford a lawyer you get jail and are extra fucked. Forever. Because who'd believe a man in today's world? You can even make a guy kill himself and get away with it! Eve if you did absolutely nothing. Isn't it great? The "real world" might favor men a bit.
I just read that. I honestly think Resetera needs to have a shack up. That is some seriously dangerous thinking they've got going on over there.EDIT #2:

Justin Bieber has been accused of sexual assault by two women [Up: Bieber responds, see threadmark for receipts]
Youre right. Death to all who have accusations thrown against them! I'm not for rape or assault or sexual assault but on this forum if anyone is accused of anything theyre automatically guilty. Which is a joke. Who knows the %, but I would say a large majority of accusations turn out true, and...www.resetera.com
I get it.Seeing this shit happening on an almost weekly basis for someone new is just really wearing me down. I'm already someone who has severe social anxiety, and wants to hide away from people because I get nervous with social situations. These situations just add to any potential trust issues I already have. I can't trust a damn woman out there, because I might be accused of something because I'm an awkward guy who may say or do something stupid someday.
Feel like I'm better off burying my head in the sand, and just cutting the world off sometimes.
you'll be ok.
How so?No, you won't.
Because if someone is resentful, or just wants to get back at someone, it's super easy to pull this cancel culture shit on someone. Somebody doesn't even have to "lie" to get back at you, they can just take a simple indiscretion that both parties are probably responsible for, and turn it so that they look like the victim. How so?
How so?
Proven guilty until innocent. The new way of online proscecuting.I've said this for a long time now: There's a huge rift between lower class real life and the public internet/media world.
Yes, when you go outside to dumb parties (I'm an introvert, so I'm calling 'em dumb ;P), when you look at workers, when you look at the less civilized parts of the world in the middle east, south east asia, africa, THEN men tend to dominate.
But then take a look at the INTERNET that people go to for discussion, information, entertainment every day: All non-right wing media one-sidedly supports women and lgbt. Social media sites, especially Twitter, encourage the "court of public opinion" and easily ban your account when you're not a total feminist. And authoritarian left feminist can behave in the most unhinged, toxic ways: They NEVER see repercussions to their behavior, see ResetEra that ruined so many people's lives, see Zoe Quinn that drove Alec Holowka into suicide, see the obnoxious "believe women" mantra they follow.
The "real world" might favor men a bit. But the digital world (aka the one that matters in the year 2020) is dominated by women, lgbt and other minorities. Men expressing differing opinions? Off with their head.
Things we've lost due to nobody daring to speak up against this:
- creative freedom is on its way out (Sony censorship being celebrated,, offensive content being made taboo)
- Variety of opinion (stray off the path and you'll be cancelled)
- Individuality (everybody "must" be part of some group now and is judged by that group's perceived image)
- Men expressing their heterosexuality (doing so is now harassment/assault, if the chosen woman isn't into you)
- Politics are more of a joke than ever (Democrats supporting a rapist and the crazies voting for him, only to get Trump out. What a standard ...)
- career safety (unless you completely shut up, building yourself a career in any of the modern media isn't worth it, because years of work will be canceled in a single day)
- The law system is taken out of the equation ("innocent until proven guilty" is now looked upon as an alt-right, misogynistic thing to say. Instead of waiting for facts and evidence, the court of public opinion decides over mens fate)
- debate culture on movies is dead (People calling those who dislike the Star Wars-sequel trilogy or Ghostbusters 2016 shit are being labeled alt-right)
- and so on
What's maybe the worst of all? REAL criminals getting away. You know, the scum that actually RAPES and ruins lives. Because let's focus on those who have differing opinions on the internet. Let's ruin those who like anime tiddies. We've never had as much sexual criminality and child porn activity as nowadays, but instead of adressing it, the auth left keeps focusing on internet discussion areas. Fuck this planet.
EDIT:
Fuck me, just saw this thread pop up over there at the crazies. I'm not a Justin Bieber-fan in the slightest, but this is just too frustratingly unfair:

Yeah, not really surprised at all. lmao this isn't a court of law bubwww.resetera.com

But that's the thing. Chris Avelone said things which paint him in a negative light, amplified when women (and male colleagues) start talking about past incidents. It's beyond naive to assume that you'll be immune to #metoo witch hunts if you haven't done something worthy of your life being destroyed. There is a mountain of evidence to the contrary at this point.
What about when a married woman comes to my place, coerces me into getting drunk, and seduces me? I'm not trying to #metoo her, but this is something that's happened in my life, and I know I wouldn't have sex with a married woman sober, but she knew I crushed on her when we were younger, so she tempted me. I don't think her and I did anything wrong, because we were consenting adults, but if she was a nutjob, she could very easily be like one of these women who would say I ruined her marriage or something, and because I'm the man, I'm the one who will get all the blame.Which is why I said that as long as Shantae refrains himself from sending dick pics and asking married women via SMS to perform oral sex on them when they haven't given him the green light, I think he'll be ok.

Am I naive for thinking this? Maybe I am. We have a saying in Greece, 'There's truth in both sides of the spectrum'. I refuse to believe that Chris Avelone didn't do anything which would cause certain women to consider him a sleazebag, and I refuse to believe that Chris Avelone should be cancelled and expelled from social media, the gaming industry and life in general just because he sent an SMS telling a woman that he'd like to lick her vagina.
It's the story with the hotel which is kinda shady right now (blackouts, a potential drunk-rape going wrong because of the victim having her period and whatnot) - but THIS, THIS is what pisses me off. And I admit I play a part in it, right now. Look at us, everyone saying his piece, others becoming lawyers, prosecutors, defense attorneys, judges and executioners in BOTH sides of the fence. Both sides quick to condemn the other side's 'victim' as innocent of guilty.
'He's a disgusting piece of shit', 'he didn't do anything wrong' or 'She's just an attention whore', 'she's so brave for speaking out', etc. While we weren't there. While we know NOTHING but anecdotal 'evidence' from (so far) one side.
Though based on what I'm reading (baseless accusations, but accusations nonetheless), Chris seemed to think with his dick a LOT. You may think yourself as socially awkward (and you may as well be), but as long as you don't grope women's asses when your girlfriend isn't looking and telling them to skip the 20xx Comic-Con in order to go for a quick fuck, you'll be ok.
Even if she accuses you of such a thing, as long as other women you know were never treated badly by you, they won't rush to her defense. What about when a married woman comes to my place, coerces me into getting drunk, and seduces me? If she was a crazy loon like these people, I'd already be in a prime position to be #metoo-ed
Even if she accuses you of such a thing, as long as other women you know were never treated badly by you, they won't rush to her defense.

Yeah, things are getting beyond fucked here in America. It's not always about what's true. I just used an example of how I could get fucked over for one thing, but there are people out there who will get fucked over by the mob because they'll believe liars.Even if she accuses you of such a thing, as long as other women you know were never treated badly by you, they won't rush to her defense.
But maybe I'm just judging by how things work in my country. The crazy hasn't really settled in Greece so far. We have snobbish chicks, but not this social media trial fuckfest you Americans have lately.

I have my pronouns in my twitter bio too. In my mother language, which don't have gender based pronouns. Some people get my joke, but nowadays I find lot of people who somehow blocked me. I'm not even tweeted at them, and dont know who they areI noticed she had her pronouns on her Twitter page, lost all respect.

You're part of the problem when you buy into this gossip and put the burden on Chris to expose more of his personal life in order to respond adequately. It's no one's business.
Problem with this is that then they get accused of "disrespecting freedom of speech". So the only winning move is to not play, i.e., to not use those platforms at all and let all the crazy people be among themselves. Maybe they'll cancel each other out.Twitter (and other platforms) really need some kind of policy in place that prevents sharing private text messages and conversations with other people. They are enabling blood-crazed mobs to bully others and become judges. What a vile, abhorrent place, jesus christ...
It is annoying to me that it's Weekes because he has written so many good characters/sections of games. Not going to cancel him though for being a cuck, as there's such a thing as separation of art from the artist.Ah, Weekes. What is it with Bioware employees coming from under the floorboards every time something like this happens on twitter?

What? People being hypocritical and taking sides without any actual knowledge about the people involved?!What a surprise, green hair.
(Look I know that's a juvenile take and super hypocritical as well considering my background but you just can't make this stuff up any more. It's real life )
He better he already lost his job with that company. This need to stop. I hope avellone will sue her for defamation
Even if this was a matter of two sides going against each-other you can compare the gravity of both sides. One side is accusing someone of being a sexual predator, rapist etc. and the other side is counter-accusing them of being a liar and a grifter . One of these is going to be a permanent stain on someone's reputation and could potentially ruin their lives while the other one will vanish in a few weeks. But that's the thing. Chris Avelone said things which paint him in a negative light, amplified when women (and male colleagues) start talking about past incidents.

According to the Resetera thread Jason Schreier is already working on his hitpiece.

Well lookee here. Looks like Vek Vek is takin our premises and reasoning with em to reach absurd and contradictory conclusions. Lets get im yall!1.) call man a fuckstick
2.) fuckstick is slang for penis
3.) so youre basically saying hes just a penis
4.) which means you are objectifying him based on his reproductive parts
5.) which is just as bad as calling someone a pussy which SJW's love to get outraged about
6.) sorry bitch, looks like you need to be canceled too
welp, that was easy. who we cancelling next yall?
Fact-check these motherfuckers like you do Trump
Why is everyone suddenly using the term 'gaslighting?' What does it even mean?
Nah most girls aren't like this. And the ones that are have telltale signs. Just be prepared to run at the first red flag. This really is a sad state of affairs. I didn't know who this guy was before, never heard of him, have no stake in trying to defend him, but all I keep reading is that this guy was behaving...like a human being?
I don't see anything crime worthy, or even something worth "believing"? Like, sure...I can totally believe 100% that what this woman is saying is true, not even gonna doubt her. But so what? what the fuck did he do wrong exactly?
