We’ll see what they conjure up next generation. I know people are saying, wow look at TLOU2 this generation on a PS4, but from what I’m seeing I don’t think the average developer will be able to make games that look as mind-blowing as TLOU2 even with next generation power.

One thing they really need to work on is creating some good looking hair for next generation. Most hair was still terrible or average looking this generation with a few exceptions of course.

To anyone saying it can't happen (in some form at least) I would wonder what they made of the dynamic GI lit cinema assets in the demo(static assets).
You could take the footage of the nanite/lumen rendering of the cinema assets and splice them into the Indiana Jones: Last Crusade Blu-ray and they wouldn't look out of place at all IMHO.

Given that people are saying it would take 30 -40 TF of RT to render cinema CGI in real-time, the question is: how many TF saved does the UE5 demo tech(nanite/lumen) running on PS5 with its IO complex and async compute save? 5? 10TF? 15TF?

We've already seen a demo maxing out a high-end PC GPU entirely to match the demo and fail. So I'd guess it is maybe more like 20TF. If the PS5 can still get another 5TF-7TF out of the shader/RT rasterization part of the GPU, then we are getting into that real-time CGI ballpark by effective performance.

XSX has an effecient I/O, it has Velocity to make things even more efficient and faster. Just because its not as fast as PS5's, does not = "brute forcing". If you want to argue "brute forcing" i'd argue it's the PS5 with its skyrocketing high clocks to the point of having to apply variable clocks to assist.
