They are doing the right thing in the wrong way. Yes they absolutely should delay Halo, but how they didn’t know that before the showcase is still baffling and someone should definitely be fired.

At the end of the day, it is for the best for both Halo and Xbox, but they need to find something to stand in its place. Time to dust off the money hat.

The publisher has got to take part of the blame when they're demanding a cross gen open world shooter that runs on a wide range of devices including the launch Xbox One.

that is not the issue. the whole studio has no fucking idea what made Halo special, they have no idea how to evolve Halo and now after 5 years that couldn't get a game out on time after releasing the 2 worst Halo games and a collection that was completely broken for years.

We should give some praise to any developer or manufacturer when they make a decision that benefit the game and the players.
Especiallyly such a hard one like this.

We all saw it, the game was not ready. They cound not had finished it in time.

It was probably the toughest call 343 and MS have had to make, but it is the best call.

It is the best for the players, no doubt.

They will now offer a better game, they will showcase better the Series X and they may be able to have his flagship back in action and be a powerful reason to get the console.


The fans have been asking for it every day, lierally asking them to blame covid.

I am glad they delayed it.

I imagine they wanted to delay it, MS obviously didn't want that, they showed what they could and thanks to the reaction they could make the choice.

Still praise for doing it. They could had gone for releasing it and then "downloading raytracing for free" and other "free bugfixes and upgrades" later on.

It's a delay mate they aren't ripping people off it happens all major publishers delay games. Going off the do it needed a delay, as long as it gets improved I don't see why people are upset.

Cyberpunks been delayed about 4 times and all you see is praise from people but as soon as Microsoft does it everybody loses their minds. I realise they're releasing a console but I'm sure they'll have release day games on it.

I can appreciate people trying to put a positive spin on it but it is denial. MS can thank 343 for basically giving Sony (who did not need it) a monumental head start. I am just glad this means I can probably get a good deal on a launch Series X. If they announce anything over $400 I am going to call their bluff and wait for the bundle, sale price or both just after launch like they did with the Xbox One.

They have literally nothing prepared for the launch of this console, the biggest thing they have is a 7 million dollar timed exclusive from an indie developer. They have lost the plot and have mismanaged everything from bottom to top.

For MS its always been GamePass and Xcloud or bust!

This was literally the best decision they could have made and anyone who says otherwise clearly has no idea the damage 343 has done to the franchise by releasing broken Halo games. Remember how unbelievably broken the MCC was at launch? Imagine if that game came out working in a good stable state. Halo 4, Halo 5, and MCC have hurt the franchise so damn much. Halo 5 is the worst selling game in the franchise even lower than ODST.

343 NEEDS to get Infinite right. They only just started getting the franchise back on track with fixing the MCC and releasing it on PC. If Infinite came out broken and buggy it could have been the final nail in the coffin for Halo.

343 shit the bed and they have been doing that for years. They are the real problem and should have been fired years ago. I won't get either console until a year later at least. Will it hurt sales in Q4? Absolutely. Will it doom the entire Xbox console? No. The PS3 tanked hard in it's first couple of years but Sony really made it a success years later. The Xbox brand has survived worse and to think a flimsy launch will forever doom a console that has a dedicated fan base that already survived 3 generations is silly.

'turned things around' is an extreme overstatement. Depending on who you ask, they did absolutely squat. And xbox one had AAA exclusives launching alongside it, and goodwill from the X360. Right now MS has neither.
