Gamers Nexus works with liquid metal all the time and does teardown on everything. They'll handle it the best, probably. Will anyone who does a teardown be able to put the system back together correctly?
They reach a level beyond Apple fanboyism, playstation will win even if it's a 2 TFLOPS console with 1 pac-man gameSince a video like this takes a week, you're gonna have to wait a bit. So funny how obsessed sony fans are with this corporation and their console. I will forever not be able to understand how and why people get so tribal, primitive, religious and fanatical about sony. They stand out from pretty much any aspect of fandom from everywhere.
Worshiping sony and its console is like someone worshiping a video card brand blindly instead of buying whatever is best at that given point in time.
The moderator in question was his employee.A moderator immediately after came to Alex's defense.
The teardown video is not self explanatory.valid argument the video is self explanatory and after watching two video commenting on it they add nothing and are more click grabber on the hype.
but to accept that you need to use more the brain and less the plastic love
But it has a nifty screw compartment and cute little plug that goes into PS5's tiny hole. Why should DF, or anyone, waste their time and hours commenting on a video about a teardown at this stage?
Shocking!
Tech Channel does not film a reaction Video and prefers to do videos and articles about actual hands on hardware!
Next up: Apple sues fruit over same name.
So change the name to XboxFoundry.
Nobody will complain they are not doing their work anymore.

I'm sure if Sony had sent a PS5 to DF, or even invited them to test one, you'd have just as many videos as about the Xbox Series X
DF disagrees. If they had been flown to Sony HQ and had a hands on with the PS5 you best believe they would have made a video. They didn't so there wasn't. Maybe when the PS5 actually comes out they'll do one. MS chose a different route so they made a video about it.The teardown video is not self explanatory.
The teardown video does not teach me about liquid metal and it's benefits or downsides vs. what is regularly used. DF can use their technical knowledge to tell me about that.
The teardown video does not tell me how much bigger the fan is vs. previous PlayStation consoles and how this will chance airflow and what it will do or allow in terms of acoustics. DF can use their technical knowledge to tell me about that.
The teardown video shows me how I can add additional storage, but not what physical size would fit. DF can use their technical knowledge to make better educated guesses on that than I can.
The list goes on and on.
They can take this footage and compare with their own footage of their own teardown of the XSX and compare the approaches of both consoles and talk about that. Literally 90% of their output is about comparisons. It is right up their street.
The idea they would have nothing to add or that the teardown gives you all the info you need is a nonsense.
Don't you see the obvious problem with this?
playing a bit of devils advocate here but DF does some really odd jobs from time to time like when they did a teardown of the overwatch for switch announcement trailer which barely showed any gameplay that wasn’t from portable mode.Shocking!

Digital Foundry had no problem dedicating entire videos to second hand rumors about next gen consoles, or making video reactions of trailers or analising promotional fototage like in this video...
...or this video...
But now they don't consider the PS5 teardown worthy of discussion because they still havn't their hands on the console.
That's all I wanted to say. Sorry for the interruption. Now you can keep playing devil's advocate.

Are we talking about making a video about a video? He was pretty clear they won’t do the video.
The thread is exactly to show them how wrong they are.
DF learned about the XSS when they went to MS HQ. They just didn't make the video until much later. They have also made several videos on graphics tech they have not ran in house see the Spiderman and Demons Souls videos. I don't see any sort of contraindications here.Digital Foundry had no problem dedicating entire videos to second hand rumors about next gen consoles, or making video reactions of trailers or analising promotional fototage like in this video...

No. I prefer content creators to actually know what they are talking about when they make a video. Hands on is infinitely more useful than speculation.
Ethomaz banned for DF witch hunting. The master ban list has been getting pretty long lately.

My point is that Sony did not provide a lot of information unlike Xbox until recently and with various news (like ZeniMax) Sony fanboys became sensitive and aggressive. Now with the teardown for example they immediately want DF to have a video on that as if PS is the most important thing in the existence. Like HEY, YOU KNOW PS5 JUST HAD THE TEARDOWN??? WHERE IS THE VIDEO????
In fact, I have a general feeling that Sony fanboys are afraid that Xbox might be better at something. You can really feel the aggression as soon as you mention something good about Xbox.
I don't think you understand. Not comparisons of hard numbers. Comparisons in design and philosophy and what the differences those yield are. You don't need to physically have something to understand how it works in principal. The comparisons would be invalid. You would be comparing hardware you have in-house to hardware in a video. This would inevitably open them up to valid criticism. They are not usually in the business of comparing apples to oranges.
I applaud them for not doing this actually. It speaks to their credibility. Imagine the ad revenue they would get from the views. The analysis will come when they get a unit and then everyone can stop being so concerned.
PS5 teardown happened for some days already and DF did nothing to cover the Sony event.
While they keep doing videos about old games nobody cares.
When asked why the reply:
Ok but this stuff has been done ad naaeum. Maybe they don't have anything new to add here? Why would they focus on this stuff when they have a next-gen console already in-house. It doesn't sound like it would be efficient.I don't think you understand. Not comparisons of hard numbers. Comparisons in design and philosophy and what the differences those yield are. They make videos based on things they don't physically have all the time. I mean they even made videos trying to see if they could guess how these consoles would all perform based on PC hardware. That's about as apples and oranges as you can get.
Besides - that's just one small element of the possibilities of what they can talk about, as I listed in my post.
Lastly I don't think they've said they won't make a video, merely that Richard was already deep into making the other video. And I don't think many would be upset if they never made a video, it is more the manor in which Alex dismissed the notion of a video - it being uninteresting and self-explanatory when, again for the reasons listed, it isn't.
Don't you see the obvious problem with this?

Oh, no doubt about that. Having a single platform helps greatly in that.Ps5 will outsell the Series X in the coming generation like it has in this one.
The hardcore Sony fanboys have made the DF threads so toxic that both Alex and John would rather post on ResetEra than here. Let that sink in for a moment...
Exactly, they would be all over PS5 if they had one on hand. They just dont want to do a video about a teardown done by someone else. And if they had already done one, they would be getting grief about doing a video about someone elses work etc. DF cant win.I think that, if Sony were to send DF a PS5 as MS did, they would spend a lot of time covering it.
I am not sure why we need DF to go over Sony's PR.
Probably. It's a tricky thing that even most PC people aren't familiar with. Gamers Nexus will do a good job though. They always do.It's that seal that I would be worried about if I had to take the heatsink off myself.
Yes objectively analyzing spiderman's raytracing was commanded by Phil Spencer. Lmao look at yourselfAlex is Microsoft slave, he does what his master Phil says.
these guys make 2000 word posts arguing about the PS5 stand! its gotten so ridiculousThe paranoia from certain sections on this forum really is getting out of control. And i dont just mean the DF paranoia, its everything. Its like people are so on edge at the minute that the tiniest thing sends them into fits of lunacy. Everything is a witch hunt. Its like every tiny subject is looked over by the Holy Inquisition.
I long for a year from now, when everything is released and old news.
