should have been a next gen game from start. just first stepping out into the streets from apartment... last gen consoles cant handle that density and scale and variety in assests

CP2077 is magnificent on Series X quality mode, anyone who thinks this looks like any other open world game is straight delusional.

Yeah, I was responding to someone else, I think. But yeah you're right..you would think they would have outsold the X1. That's why I think it's possible the base shrunk due to this past generation. We'll see though. With all this going on, I think in 6 months to a year from release we'll probably be seeing how this thing will go as far as sales.

I think it's going to be a tough slog for Microsoft since they don't have the games out to help sell the system. They are obviously pushing and banking on gamepass anyway but they DO need strong sales of the S/X in order to recoup the monstrous R&D dollars they spent developing the hardware. Plus....cloud gaming just isn't that strong right now so they're counting on hardware and software sales to buoy them until as they hope, gamepass takes off and they start making crazy money from it. :)
The problem with gamepass is that ac Valhalla, cod, watch dogs, cyberpunk or even b games like dirt 5 are not on there. Just having old games isn't good enough when you launch with zero new games on the service.

I'm almost kinda relieved CDPR hired another dev to make a next-gen version of The Witcher 3, lmao.

In a more serious note, this practice of announcing a game (which might not even begun development yet) and already giving it a launch date/window has to be dropped ASAP. This might not be a problem in and of itself, but it does lead to crunch, delays, releasing a broken game, etc.

Maybe a more pressing issue to address is that of delaying a game but already giving another release date - it only adds more crunch, bad press, and further delays, should it not meet the new deadline.

I'm not a game dev or anything, so feel free to correct me!

45% higher average frame rate and resolution :messenger_grimmacing_

Posts a pic showing average framerate of 56.23 v 59.72, then claims a 45% higher average frame rate.

I mean, fuck me. How more stupid can somebody look? 😂

(no offence meant, but seriously).

CP2077 is a very ambitious game and get a free pass for a lot of the shit happening.

You can`t compare it with the millioneth version of assassins creed.
Quality is quality, I don't care about "ambitious" as an excuse. I welcome it as a vision, but it shouldn't get in the way of quality. All I'm comparing it for is because of the hypocrisy I perceive in calling out some developers (rightly so, I'm not denying that) while not having the same quality standard for others.

But of course, this is just my two cents on the matter, not to be taken too seriously. I'm still going to play it when they deliver next-gen versions, but, as of now, the game is what it is on consoles.

Trust me I've tried to get into HZD several times, but for whatever reason it never holds me.

Me either. I think it’s the weird, robotic characters that put me off. Couldn’t get behind the whole Dances With Wolves, earth mother stuff either. The whole thing just felt so empty of proper personality.

My feelings while I playing Cyberpunk 2077 (PC version):

Don't get me wrong I really like this game but is start to reminding me Skyrim for how easy is find
bugs and some poor NPC behaviours, CD Projekt Red said a couple of years ago they want to be
something like Rockstar but this game is closer to be from Bethesda than Rockstar just with much
better graphics.

Also I am expecting the people in PC stop pretending DLSS make your game always look better or
equals than the native resolution, DLSS even in quality mode looks blurrier than native.

Note: the skin material is a little disappointing specially for a AAA first person with this requirements in 2020.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a perfect example of why I want Sony first party to stay exclusive forever. I don't give a fuck if you bring it to PC 3 years down the line. It seems so hard for multiplat studios to get to the level of polish of Sony first party. Recent exceptions I can remember now are, ID Software and Rockstar Games

Captain Hero

The Spoiler Soldier
75 hours in Days Gone on PS5 and I’m blown away by what I’ve experienced. Game is gorgeous in terms of gameplay, story and the world. I’m not going to talk spoilers I’m just gonna take a breath and say this game is underrated, the media is ignoring beautiful games such as Days Gone. No game out there is perfect but Days Gone is a 9 out of 10 for me. I’m interested in story so much and really immersed in the world. When you care about something you love in a ruined world, you’re going to do what you gotta do just to reach your destination, that’s what this game is offering to me. Riding in a beautiful world but yet a scary one is just amazing. I experienced a lot of emotions during the story and fuck this game is doing good in that.

The soundtrack is on point. If I’m allowed to recommend a game right now I’ll say Days Gone will never disappoint.

Oof, you didn't even meet anybody but the Nora? I guess it's great if you know a game isn't for you that early.

I have to wonder how Stadia has Cyberpunk, but not GamePass...

This is the bare minimum, but I actually have a serious problem with this "wait and we'll patch it" approach.

When I paid day one money, they asked for all of it in full and making sure it was not counterfeit. They wanted legal tender in exchange for a license. And the consumers have decided to accept the contract because they wanted a day one product, something new and shiny that has a precise relevance in the market. Of course week one and two patches are welcome and understandable, but now we are talking patches that should be deployed in 3 months time.

What is going to be the fair market value of the product in 3 months down the line? A lot less than what is being asked for today. So no thank you: give me my refund and I'll re-evaluate in 3 months time.

Stadia is a platform: you pay for the priviledge of renting computational time. Then you will have to buy licenses for the software/games that will run on that. Oh, and you'd have to buy those licenses exclusively from Stadia's store :messenger_smiling_horns:
