  • TitanFall 2

  • Battlefield V

  • Metro Exodus

  • Epex Legends

  • Far Cry 4

  • Halo 5

  • Rainbow Six: Siege

  • Ion Fury

  • Dusk

Results are only viewable after voting.
Doom 2016 and Ion Fury take it for me. Both were absolute master classes on how to design a FPS. I still haven't played Dusk though, so maybe that would edge out Ion Fury.

Honorable mentions to Wolfenstein New Order, Titanfall 2 and Overwatch.

CoD Modern Warfare should be on the list not just the remake. The current game is still being played and has incredible multiplayer.

Titanfall 2 is the best single player campaign in a long time.

Nothing comes even close IMO.

COD: MW remake took first place on my list. It's multiplayer FPS perfection. I voted Metro for single player content.

Destiny and BF 1 were pretty good too.

I played Doom and Titanfall 2 a little bit but couldn't give them proper time they needed. I didn't like Doom's melee integration and TF2's multiplayer though. Dusk and Ion Fury on my radar too so my votes could change in future.

Actually, when i look at that list, it seems we had a great generation for FPS games! Too many good games on there. Honorable mentions; Apex(epex?), Overwatch, Rainbow Six.

That is one weird list. It is missing all the best games so I can't vote.

Call of Duty MW4 = shitty campaign but the multiplayer became incredible after a few dozen patches. Warzone was also a ton of fun for a few weeks, definitely the best BR game.

Deep Rock Galactic = holy Molly! This game is just WOW! Haven't had so much fun with a game for a long time. One of the finest games this gen, period! For Rock and Stone! For Carl!

Cant't decide between Doom (2016) and Titanfall 2 but my boner says Titanfall 2, so I go with that.

Gotta be one of the old school shooters like Dusk or Ion Fury.

Still not as good as the all timers like og Doom/Blood/Duke 3D though.

Rainbow Six Siege and Escape From Tarkov.

The gameplay of Titanfall 2 is superb but didn't retain popularity.

Battlefield 3/4 are up there too.

Went for Destiny 2 and the original Titanfall, if there was a 3rd option Doom 2016 would have picked it up.

A lot of great stuff there

Out of those listed, I'm going with Metro.

Love this series so far.

In all fairness, the actual first person shooter gameplay isn't the best, but the atmosphere and story and everything else is top notch.

Hmm can't think of any FPS this gen that has wowed me. CoD Infinite was decent and Metro Exodus was fine as well but no games I can think of were greater than 8/10

R6 Siege for me.

Great example of a game that has just got better and better, I can't think of a game that retains its appeal going into its sixth year since release

I literally just Ctrl-F Titanfall 2 and voted immediately.

I dont even need to see the other nominees....fuck them.
Its TitanFall 2.

TitanFall 2 should be in the running for game of the generation to be honest.
A short sweet nigh perfect campaign thats paced perfectly, you are never bored and perpetually feel like a badass while slowly but surely falling in love with a frikken machine.

I dont know what its budget was, but if more studios can bring out games like this that arent quite AAA id be in heaven.

Legit a TitanFall x TitanFall 2 = TitanFall 3 game would be my game of the forever.
TF2 just lacked in the MP department and TF was Xbox/PC so no one played it.

Doom'16 was also great but i wasnt as perpetually engaged with it as I was with TitanFall 2.

Same. Doom was good, but it was more the hype for it that got me, than my actual enjoyment of it. I didn't play it for more than an hour or two. Titanfall 2? I ate that game up. It's one of the few games out of the hundreds of games I've played in my life that got me hooked and I played until the end.

Where is BF4? Didn't vote.

Shit.
You are right.
BF4 by end game was an absolutely perfect Multiplayer game.
If the servers were still full enough to play every game mode id probably still be playing it today. (shoulda had console crossplay)

But it was released on lastgen machines so maybe OP wanted to include games that werent on PS360?

I still think that should get Multiplayer First Person Shooter of the generation, if not just best Multiplayer in general of the generation.
But the single player wasnt all that great.

Glad to see Titanfall 2 so high. I'm replaying it on series X in 4K/60 and is a joy.
My other vote goes to Doom Eternal.

Arcade is probably a toss-up between Doom 2016 and Titanfall 2, Immersive shooter is a toss-up between Metro Exodus and probably Prey.

In terms of the actual shooter gameplay...Wolfenstein The New Order.
In terms of my actual favorite game classed as an fps.....Metro Exodus.

Tough choices, because many of them can be considered for different factors. For example, COD:MW can be considered one of the best come-back installments in a franchise that has since been in decline. But a game like Doom can be considered for revitalizing a style of FPS that has been widely absent since the days of slow-paced FPS game mechanics. And Battlefield 1 was quite revolutionary in the sense that it was one of the first show-pony shooters of its time, thanks to the Frostbite engine.

But overall, I have to give it to Titanfall, probably the most underrated FPS. The game just oozes with the DNA of IW's MW2.
