With regret I will no longer be posting on GAF (and no I won't be requesting a ban like a drama queen - I will simply log out and not come back). Unfortunately, after two years of quite correctly undoing bish's mistakes and increasing transparency, the new direction of travel is to repeat those same mistakes. There's an Einstein quote on that one. Whatever the cause of EL's change of attitude (and there has been a notable uptick in rudeness), be it fear or just deciding he doesn't need us any more after we got the site to critical mass, or maybe a genuine change of heart, it leaves us all walking on eggshells (just look at the reboot of clown world - a shadow of its former self). It's your ball pit, you get to run it how you want, and nothing any of us says will make the slightest difference, just as it didn't when people spoke up last time. It is what it is, I will miss GAF because it was truly awesome, but I fear it soon won't be. Good luck.
EL pretty much told this already - Capitol riots were the spark that lit the fuse. It is understandable that such a thing sparks questions - After all prior to that, a lot more was welcome.
However, the Capitol storming went on to show that people, whether fueled by hatred or incited by it (or being exceptional) will now go make physical contact to make themselves clear. Previously, it was usually words and demonstrations (and those became increasingly grimm)
The Capitol storming showed that a new layer is peeled off. Because of this, EL took action.
You could argue that things are done out of naivety, sure, but in the New Reality, new diametrics apply.
Having said that, i do think you are dropping the ball here - Regardless of EL's policy changes or not. You go from 0 - 100 in one second - Perhaps further motivated by things of forgotten past.
If that's rightful, that's one i leave up for grabs. I personally don't think it is.
what was JordanN banned for? didn't see anything that warranted it from his posts
now cybrwzrd on the other hand, he deserved it
I am actually surprised that cybrwzrd of all people got the cake. Outside of Politics, i guess? He was a regular poster.
JordanN however, that surprises me less based on history.
