I guess Sony could give away a bunch of last gen games nobody wants to pay for outright.

Personally, I’m more interested in this gen (on either console). Unfortunately, Xbox has nothing to even counter on that front yet.
Even the exclusivity confirmed today is right in line with what always is xbox status quo...a promise of things to come and only after PS gets 2 exclusives from that deal at a time when gamers are starved for next gen games. And we still don’t know if there are more contractual obligations. If they really wanted to flex they’d just keep Deathloop and Ghostwire for themselves. It’s gotta hurt having those games be on PS when they have nothing coming.

Yeah I'm not interested in Xbox's first party games at all.

But because of the Gamepass a lot of third party content is available "for free". Also I like to play old games now and then.
I'm actually replaying God of War (18) and Days Gone on PS5 because of the 60 fps update.

It's not free, you're still paying monthly subscription fees. Will you call Netflix or Disney plus are free for movies?
That's why I used "quotation marks" because it's not free. And no I don't call Netflix movies free.
But for a 9,99 euros / month I'd call those games on Xbox Gamepass "free" because it's dirt cheap.

This is so bad about communication through internet that you have to be so goddamn specific about everything 😅
It's just so black and white.

In the end both Sony and MS have plans, MS is more vocal about it cause right now that's all they have to show.

MS is talking about a better future since 2014, but now they finally have a date for when to expect good shit: 2022 and beyond.

New Sony's heads are way more silent than 2013/2014 and I think it is natural for people to be anxious about it even when they still don't even have a PS5 LOL

It doesn't matter if Sony put MS in their pockets for the last decade now, people won't look at the past or even the present, they already dreaming about the future.

It’s really hard to understand why Sony keeps insisting on throwing a bunch of money for timed exclusives and collabs.

Invest on Kojipro, their first game being a big budget game, give them the tech and the support. Result? A one game IP and Kojima going straight to Google and then Microsoft to make his next game.

Put a bunch of money on From Software, help them turn into one of the biggest studios in the world. Result? A bit better here, two IPs with future potential, but now they are dancing with MS and Elden Ring’s marketing is exclusive to Xbox. Odds they will do another exclusive with PlayStation? Very low.

Throw a ton of money at Square Enix, which has been going on since the Squaresoft days, get a few timed exclusives because they keep having financial problems. Result? As seen in the past, as soon as they are financially healthy again, thanks Sony, they resume their multiplatform strategy.

Go out there and throw a bunch of money at Bethesda for a couple of times exclusives. Result? Who cares exclusives and then MS comes around and buys the whole op.

Do a deal for Fall Guys, becomes a world wide sensation. Result? Epic buys the dev.

Multiple games with Quantic Dream? Bought by some Chinese company.
Ready at Dawn? Bought by Facebook.

I’m already foreshadowing that Bluepoint will be acquired by some other publisher. Why be stuck in a contract loop with Sony, one bad game that is a financial failure and it’s over.

Jim Ryan can talk all the shit he wants but fact is Sony WWS volume output slowed down last gen. It’s one to two games from their biggest studios, depending on the studio, and I don’t think this is going to get any better unless they compromise on the scale of the projects.

The industry is getting bigger not smaller, and it feels like Sony is waiting for some sort of downturn to invest in a time that is not, according to Jim Ryan, a “sellers market”. Well duh, what did you expect? Yeah keep waiting...

It’s unfortunate that PlayStation keeps being used as a piggy bank for the rest of Sony, and sooner or later that’s going to bite them hard.

I'm curious where you're seeing that. Bernd Lauert Bernd Lauert says the XSX version doesn't drop any frames. He might want to know as well.
I didn't say that (I don't own the game nor would I actually see the frame drops because of Riky mode) but the guys who are claiming frame drops offer zero evidence and we already have one comparison video out which says framerate is flat 60.

Well maybe Riky Riky has seen a source where they claim framerate drops. I haven't seen any yet.
