his arms are 95% covered up the fuck you mean the arms are the giveaway

They don't look muscular covered up or not. He doesn't look strong. Just looks like a typical fat fuck you would see on the street. I see plenty of dudes built like him on the construction site.

Modern look of strongman is skewed. These gym 6 pack guys do not have natural strong build like ancient people would have. Especially god who have a lot of money to eat :p

This game should have the viking myth where Thor dresses up as a bride get his hammer back. So these freaks can freak out.

I thought Baldur was unique, so I like this too. I thought Thor’s sons looked typical and boring though.

I like it

Thor is a brutal belligerent and powerful drunk in this interpretation. It works well

I mean Baldur is supposed to be the most beautiful man in norse myths. Nobody had an issue that he looked more like Conor McGregor than Brad Pitt

Well I had issues with them portraying Baldr as a tatt'ed up, whiny, little bitch in the first one.

Just.....what. No im not saying I want #hemsworth in this I dont mind the attire the hair etc. Its just, a god that should be one of the most recognize-able and should scream badassery is thor but just.....whaaaaattttt

I also dislike how much like the other site "omg body shaming how dare you" do people realize how unhealthy it is to be obese? Its not just a detriment to yourself its also to our health care system. If you can walk to the fridge fine you can exercise. Stop making obesity a norm in society.

When I see Thor like this I'm not thinking about how cool or powerful he looks, Im thinking about diabetes.

Do you really think Thor is an endurance fighter? I don't think so.
The frikkin' god of thunder is not a F1 race car, he's a freight train much like a Berserker!

I know that video, that's why he's losing weight for the boxing match against Eddie Hall. I've already explained this here.
Thor is certainly not a nimble fighter like McGregor, he's the Norse embodiment of strength and known for his feats of might.

I would love to see McGregor try this:

Well yes, that's exactly my point, he'd have snapped McGregor in half.

Also, I highly doubt Vikings had any notion of being "ripped". The concept of low bodyfat is a recent one and the result of modern day nutrition plus supplements.
Early bodybuilders for example looked like this (yes this was considered very muscular):

Cr78FAZ.jpg

It took until the mid 60s or early 70s until more ripped bodybuilders would even appear.
A Viking from the past would eat to get strong and would certainly not have the luxury to pass on calories. Our modern day notion of strength and athleticism differs very much from the past.

I highly doubt the Vikings would have imagined a "ripped" Thor.

I've no idea what we're even debating anymore. I never said Thor should be ripped, I just noted that with his body type, and were he indeed like other strong men, it would be hard for any kind of prolonged physical contest to occur before they've burned out their energy. Obviously, this is ignoring Thor is a god. Again, in another post I point to Baldur as an example of smaller but still obviously quite strong.

If we're just going to say 'well gods can look like whatever they want' then it doesn't matter how they physically appear and there is no purpose in trying to compare them to real life people and body types.

Your bit about McGregor makes zero sense, why would I even begin to think that he can do strongman lifts? He's a UFC fighter. Obviously moving more raw mass is going to favor the individual who trained expressly to do that. I also never said that Haftor could not kill McGregor given the size disparity, no idea where you're inferring any of this.

I can't believe that SSM didn't copy the real version of Thor, A Norse God who looks like a blonde Australian.

Is this a rehash argument of Abby by this site for 2021/2022? The characters won't fuck you no matter what they look like.
I always thought Thor was a surfer dude.

That's okay, I plan on burying my leviathan axe into his skull, not sucking his nuts. The rest of you, should do the same.

They're actually not saggy Ts. His chest looks mostly flat if you look at just the actual chest.

But then he went and got some saggy Ts tattooed on his chest and it's extremely unflattering ... it's like an optical illusion.

It sounded like you took umbrage with my assessment of Thor's strongman aesthetic, otherwise why even bring up McGregor in the first place? It should be pretty evident that Thor isn't an endurance fighter and neither is he known for being nimble. I agreed with you that different physiques have different advantages, so I really don't get why you're being so confrontational.

Meh the vast majority the male characters have been ripped and jacked in God of war.

Hades is the one acception I can think of and his design was one of the best.

I like his design he's meant to be a raging drunk In the story and this makes him stand out.

I'm a lifter. Something that isn't clear by looking at these strongmen is how painfully low their endurance is. The issue with Thor as depicted is that he would be winded exceedingly quickly if he were like the men above. They train for intense bouts of energy expenditure, not a prolonged engagement with weapons against one or several adversaries. You don't get to be so freakishly strong and huge without sacrificing other areas of fitness.

A good video illustrating this is the friendly sparring match Connor McGregor had vs The Mountain (Hafthor Johansson):

Watching this, look how hard that guy is breathing just moving around. He's becoming exhausted with all the movement, because of how damn big he is.

My favorite part is when Hafthor was able to physically grab Connor and you can see the dude trying everything he could to get away from the monster.

Good thing video games are fake.

It was an observation on my part about that kind of physique in the real world. I regret posting it.

Good talk.

You're aware that The Mountain Hafþór went on a severe diet and lost 50kg of weight so he could box against Eddie Hall? This is what he had to look like in order to break Eddie's deadlift WR:

Losing this much weight also cost him a lot of strength!
Is strength all that matters? Mobility would certainly matter when fighting. They aren’t doing a weight lifting competition.
