I'm on an LG C1 OLED. What are y'all using for the HDR settings?

I set:
  • Maximum Brightness - 800 nits (I think that's the max luminance of C1 OLEDs)
  • Paper White - 150 (cause I hate glowy white text on dark backgrounds, i believe this only impacts UI elements)
  • Tone-Mapping Mid Point - 2 (left it at default 2 but I feel this needs adjusting)

Why the hell does people want the Police to behave just like in GTA when this is clearly trying something else and is a RPG?Imagine how annoying and frustrating would it be to have an army on your tail everytime you killed someone.
Isn't that kind of what police do though? Chase you down if you do something bad?

It's pretty weird that cops from the future don't have this ability.

It's definitely the first step in the right direction. But you have got to remember that they had almost a year from their last patch, so I was expecting more than this.

I dopn't know what you expect from the police in a game like that, but the bare minimum would have been cars chases and a correct bounty hunting system with the use of mercenaries when you are out of control (for example).

And no, CP 2077 is absolutely not an RPG.

Perhaps read the patch notes. They've made good improvements to the AI - including NPC behaviour, combat, and crowd based. Some of the crowd additions are restricted to the next-gen versions, likely due to the computational overhead. The combat AI changes should make for more interesting firefights. And they have specifically listed improving the diversity of the crowds, however, this appears to be limited based on IO speed, as they stated that the slower HDD mode is automatically detected and will limit crowd variation accordingly.

Lol, this kind of hyperbole is fucking embarrassing.

Caveat: it's a next-gen patch, focused on next-gen consoles, whose notes specifically state that most of the improvements are best felt on next-gen machines. I wouldn't expect much on last-gen machines.

I read the patch notes, but doing is more important than saying. The words they use are vague and could mean they've made minor updates and the system is still not functioning very well. I might play tonight to give it a whirl and see if it's really that much better.

I'm also tired of their excuses on how hard this is. Their AI is dumber than GTA games that have been out for years on much weaker platforms.

As someone who played on PC, I would say I was "satisfied" with the game before this update, in the sense that I liked the game a lot and got a good 70 hours out of it.

I also find the progress and updates in this update to be pretty substantial, and I think those jumping in for the first time on next gen consoles are going to have a good time.

Is there more left to do? Certainly. Traffic AI is still very rudimentary, far from where it would need to be to allow for police chases or anything like that, which people are always clamoring for. I don't think the game NEEDS that per se, but it's still an area where it's notably underbaked.

Unless they've made huge strides to AI then it's going to be underwhelming. All I remember is tons of clones and AI just being dumb as shit.
"Clones" is a memory limitation thing and isn't going to be as prominent on next-gen now. AI is always "dumb," it's just a matter of giving it more behaviors and variety so it isn't as obvious, which it feels like they've done some of.

Driving AI has a long way to go. Combat AI seems pretty okay, as much as the next game.

Some impressions:

- pc performance took a pretty big hit. Not sure why. Especially if I hang around the map too long my ingame FPS tanks. something in there is a huge resource drain

- The new apartments are really, really cool. Uniquely designed with a ton of style. Only nitpick - no parking anywhere, even with the 50,000 apartment you have to park in the middle of the street. Weird oversight

- I think I notice more diversity in pedestrians and vehicles. Also more vehicles in the streets

- Character customization is disappointingly barebones. You can change hairstyles, beard, eye color and that superficial stuff but you still can't change your face cybernetics, add tattoos or add body cyberware. You're still like the only character in the entire city without cybernetic prosthetic arms or legs, lol

- NPC cars still drive through sidewalk barriers because of poor vehicle pathing. This has been a thing since launch and I can't believe this is still happening

Overall it's a small step in a right direction but it's nothing mindblowing. If you didn't enjoy the game prior, this won't change your mind at all.

I played it on my 3090 for my first run, Series X second. Graphics were never the issue for me with my PC being capable of running it however I wanted. My main concern was substantial improvements to AI and it looks like they touched a few things with NPCs but not much. I'm going to wait for some impressions and consider reinstalling it afterwards as I still need to do my Corpo run through...

Had to change my vote to not satisfied.
More than a year later, and a still no option to toggle ADS. What a screw up.
This is a first person shooter and this option is important, because some players prefer hold to ADS and other Toggle to ADS.

Also, seems like RT is broken with this update, at least on PC.
What is ADS? another display settings?

Looking forward to finally trying it out after work. I bought it at launch but held off playing it (aside from a few minutes here and there) because I wanted to wait for the next-gen update. From what I've seen, it looks good so far, but I also didn't expect the game to be a world changer in the first place like a lot of people seemed to.

Its a game about a distopian future, in a place that supossidely corruption runs wild. Its not meant to be as accurate as our reality.

Plus, and I reitirate, its a RPG where you constantly commit crimes and kill people for exp. If every single action or most of them, would make a small army of cops go after you, it would get annoying real fast. At least for me.

Since this is an RPG, this feels way more fun for me than a "police system".

After messing with the PS5 version for an hour or so, I will say that it makes a very good first impression. But I also didn't spend a ton of time with this game on launch, I've been waiting for this patch. So a lot of the other stuff is going to be lost on me. I think their bar is so low at this point that it seems great.

Though a bounty system, assuming a mercenary doesn't show up every 15 minutes, would be interesting.

I gotta say after 15 months since the initial release it seems pretty shit that this is the best they can do, goes to show how broken the game was. People celebrating because we’re now getting a relatively stable game with a next gen 4k 60fps RT patch. The game is still miles away from what they promised as a genre defining rpg. CDPR don’t deserve any praise here for finally giving people the bare minimum on consoles.

tried it on my old file and camew out unimpressed..but it doesn't help that i have most of the missions already done on that save file..so i couldn't get into combat.
you get some prizes by the fixers of the various districts while you clear all their missions, but i kind of received all together so i'm not sure what was effectively new.

the 4 apartments and the "skins" for your main one feel like pointless addition since it doesn't seem like you can do any different thing..although i tried only the corpo plaza one, where you can drink tea and coffee..and that's it

It's a start, but I've already finished the game and am waiting for more content and RPG elements. As it stands, there's really not much you can do in the city and I'd really love for more ways to interact with the world.
No Man's Sky turned the game around by not only fixing bugs, but adding tons of new and engaging content.

We’re getting some pretty hot takes about a patch that has been out just a few hours. I bet a lot of people shitting on it haven’t even played it yet.

The fact that apparently NPCs (both pedestrians and cars) don't get unloaded / reloaded differently when you turn the camera around (can you confirm this?) would make a huge difference for me.

It was one of the worst thing for me, I never got interested because I can't get any immersion in a world where things outside of your field of view don't exist, it made the world feel... just non existent, it ruined it, I don't know how anyone could enjoy a world that worked like this, at least if you care about immersion.

It was so extreme in some stuff I saw, it reminded me of the quantum physics mechanics in Outer Wilds, look away, look again, different reality lol.

So if this is finally fixed, that's a great improvement. Did they change the police system or do they still teleport behind you (even if you are in a place where they just couldn't appear out of nowhere) ? Because that's another deal breaker thing for me.

Translation: "After some initial checks, the PS5 performance mode in Cyberpunk 2077 runs at a common resolution of 1440p at 60FPS. Soon more info."

So they lied to us again?

To be honest, some of those things you mention require 'major' game design changes, I think it would take a lot longer than a year given the other things they were throwing their resources at to do.

The issue is that this game needed more than a year or two in development period. They already screwed up and they needed to work on a next gen update and the scope of the game is still very large.

Your expectations on what they could do in just over a year is too high.

Corruption is everywhere so why can't I bribe the cops? Why is there only one kind of cops and no armored, heavy hunters coming after you? No police chases, no different kinds of units, cops savagely spawning in front of you (still happening in 1.5 btw) etc etc...
This is not what I'm expecting from the "next generation of RPGs Action with very light RPGs elements"

A GTA police like you said (and I don't like this term as it sound pejorative) would have been the bare minimum. So while indeed it wouldn't been fun to get chased 24/7, there is a middle ground to find.

Finally The Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect, Baldur's Gate etc... are RPG. CP2077 is not. I'm not making any significant choices during the main story to build my own 'V' with it's own personality. I just have an influence on the end cutscene.

I don't expect the game to be anything other than what it is. It's not what they originally said it would be but I don't think they need to turn it into what I want it to be. If what's on offer isn't what you want then just don't buy it 🤷🏼‍♂️

The timing of this couldn’t be worse. Sandwiched between 3 big budget open world games, those being Dying Light 2, Forbidden West, and Elden Ring. Ain’t nobody gonna have time for this. I would’ve given it a shot if Forbidden West wasn’t about 48 hours away from release.

Best looking PC game I played in the last year + and a good game all around. I don't understand all the over the top BS, but then again, I never play multiplats on old systems.

I just sat down and loaded Cyberpunk up for the first time in over a year and well I'm not impressed to say the least going from a ps4 pro to a ps5. Ray tracing mode has a strange blur when you're in motion that can't be turned off regardless of switching motion blur off in the options, the same goes for film grain, it's subtle but it is still there.

Performance mode is nice at 60fps but the graphics take a hit and it shows. I'm still seeing npc's spontaneously disappear and the dreaded crashes. CDPR have had long enough to get there shit together so no more excuses accepted. I just can't be bothered anymore and I've deleted the game now entitrely, which honestly saddens me as I love cyberpunk themed games, art and films.

I wanted to love this game and pump hours into it but its never going to be the game CDPR promised.

Good lord. What else you wanted this game to have?Individual stories for NPCs that change every single day of the year and is unique to each playthrough?Being able to have sex with trash cans? That Night City wasnt the only place to explore, but rather that the game had 10 cities of a similar size?

Go play Star Citizen then. Thats the game that you have been looking for. A game that is ever expanding its scope to simulate everything a universe can do, because why not?Its the fucking devs obligation to put everything that I want even if it has nothing to do with the RPG they are building. They are fucking CD Red and 6 years is enough to build the Matrix for me to have fun in it, dammit!

You people that keep complaining about stuff that the devs never enviosioned to be in the game will be perpetually in denial and angry. This was never meant to be GTA but RPG, and it was always meant to be more of a Witcher but Cyberpunk. They fucked up with the glitches and performances, but not about what the game is.

Playing on PS5

This game is still broken on a basic level, I have subtitles turned off, twice within 30 minutes there was a random piece of dialogue that showed up on screen. Twice now my HUD has completely disappeared, I don’t see dialogue options when talking to someone anymore, I don’t see items that I’m picking up, I don’t see my ammo count, even though it’s all turned on. I played this game when it released, and had less issues this early on back then. This has happened to me twice now, where everything disappeared so I had to quit and reload.

Hopefully it’s not a sign of things to come. This is just minor stuff so it’s not a big deal.

Played another 30 minutes, few instances of NPC’s standing around, taking a few steps and then suddenly teleporting back to their starting point and continuing to stand there. Saw an NPC standing in the middle of the air a few feet above ground.

Some of my settings also aren’t saving.

Just like when the game initially released, sometimes I still have to click L3 multiple times before V starts to sprint.

NPC’s clipping.

Seen a few random floating assets.

Still seeing a decent amount of pop-ins, even up close, moving left or right foot and graffiti will disappear, etc.

Camera preference when driving isn’t saving. Aim reticle doesn’t disappear when driving.

After leaving a BD, the reticle sticks around. Forcing a reload to get rid of it.

The timestamps on my save files are ahead 5 hours, I don’t know why even small shit like this is broken over a year later.

Just randomly died while walking inside of V’s place.

Just got one that’s really annoying, there’s some music playing in the background and it won’t stop, I’ve tried reloading, I’ve tried rebooting the game, it doesn’t matter if I get in or out of combat, trigger a new mission, turn on radio stations, it doesn’t matter what I do the music just does not stop. I had to reload an old save going back about 45 minutes, the music is gone, hopefully it doesn’t return.

Photo mode is still garbage and broken, you switch cameras and the ads bug out and get really blurry or only take up half of the ad space, just ruins the pictures.

There is a surprising amount of visual bugs during main missions and side missions, still nothing game breaking so it’s not that big a deal. But it feels like there’s more now than they were when I first played it a year ago.

The game crashed on me 3 times during a boss fight, I had to reload an earlier safe.

There’s an audio bug that used to be far more common, it only happened to me once this time though, the sound starts to tick, like a constant hi hat in the background, solution then and now is to reload.

Fixes are important, I get it. But I just can't get excited about them as much as I would about new features and gameplay elements that extend immersion. Your list OP would be the dream 😄

so i'm playing on series x. have to say i can tell the improvement. visually speaking. that being said, was kind of hoping for more. not sure what it is, but it's just not "crisp" if that makes sense. like, it still has that particle (checkerboarding??) look on objects and lighting. makes it grainy looking (and yes, i've turned off film grain and all that other jazz). hopefully this isn't an example of pushing the series x to the limits!

That guy is just seeking attention, atleast post a screenshot or video..
As somebody who watches a lot of console repair youtubers that green screen issue when starting a game or even just when first starting the console is the SSD being gone. His SSD simply went out when he was trying to download Cyberpunk 2077. It was just a coincidence. And the PS5 SSD is soldered to the board and married to each specific console so there is no fixing it yourself. Have to pony up the $325 or whatever Sony charges to fix your console.

Does your V still turn into a midget when driving certain vehicles in first person like the Aerondight? The camera was always so low, the car looks awesome but it was basically undriveable because I could never see over the goddamn steering wheel.

You people that keep complaining about stuff that the devs never enviosioned
Wrong, 90% of what I said was promised by the developer during countless itw and gameplay trailers. The rest was very strongly suggested to say the least. I suggest you take a look at one of those major Reddit threads like this one and see for yourself.

This was never meant to be GTA but RPG
Again you are the one bringing GTA. I dont care about this game so what's the point? Wanting a strong, intelligent and well made police system ≠ wanting the same police as GTA.

it has nothing to do with the RPG they are building
RPG = Role Playing Game. This means you can ACT on the story with different choices, have a REAL impact on the narrative with your own temperament. It's absolutely not the case with CP2077 except during the last hour.
CP 2077 is an action game with a skill tree. That's it. Same goes for AC Valhalla for example.

Fuck no, I'm not satisfied. I turned on the game, downloaded the update on my XSX, started the game and low and behold it STILL had the annoying ass NPC's pop-in right in front of your face issue. I have the game saved on a set of steps. I walk up the steps into a porch area. At first you don't see any NPCs, but if I walk right up close they appear. Until that gets fixed, I will consider the game broken.

Fuck you CDPR for getting my hopes up.
