Yes it is especially if its an AAA Game that asks for 80€ insane.

It's priced at 80 EUR. Triple fucking A asking price, triple fucking A quality expectations.
It really doesn't matter. I don't factor price THAT MUCH into opinion on the game.
I wouldn't play a bad game even if it was free... by your logic, a free game should be good because there is no price expectations.

:messenger_tears_of_joy:

A product is only as good as its price. First year uni germany but actually common sense.

Thats not subjective.

Even as a 90 mc game the high price would fuck it.

Or go like me bought calissto, played through it and sold it. Si i paid 15 bucks for it. See subjective. At 15 bucks it was good. At 60 its not good.

Paying for a games makes me more critical but it's a fraction of the score. Not all of it.
I don't give more points to free or cheap steam games

I know it's easy to pile on this game, but it's an absolute dullard. It's incredibly repetitive and boring. I don't even find the combat fun yet, my character is still very weak, but even once I advance the character, I can't see how it would make it that much of a difference. Fighting crowd of the same enemies over and over, and running across an empty landscape isn't fun at all. And it's not even like you can get some really cool armors or swords or do sidequests that get you something really awesome that would make it worthwhile.

I was kind of in the mood for an open world just turn your brain off and relax type of game, but I'm not sure I can stick it with this one. It's so freaking boring.

I was watching this and it seems like the game is suffering from that good old Final Fantasy game engine design.
The menu system and NPC interaction is laggy. That is typical for a modern Square Enix game.

I wont support 70$ gaming ever

But picking this up discount. I expect a dragon's dogma and from the some videos that really gets the combat, looks indeed like dragon's dogma to me.
The 70$ is by far the worst aspect of this

Never you say?
What about when a sequel to your fav game comes out?
And the game is not dragons dogma.

:messenger_tears_of_joy::messenger_tears_of_joy::messenger_tears_of_joy: shit plays itself

What do you mean? Did he turned on all the accessibility options to prove an absolutely moronic point?

Edit watched: that's like 2 hours into the game, was he expecting a super hard fight when you barely have any power?? You don't even have an evade move in that fight...

The lengh people go to shat on this game is amusing.

So You finished college ? bravo?
I am 33... I finished my degree like 10 years ago so ok ?.... and I don't care if the game is 60 or 70. That 10$ is not making me dislike the game because of 10$
Be easy on him, he'll learn eventually what it's like to have disposable income. ;)

51 % the game is garbage. Cope
51%? What? Steam reviews? Do you think i give a flying fuck about what other people think?

I don't need to cope, i didn't payed full price like a moron nor i ever had many expectations on the game other than a fun magic system and traversal, i knew what i was buying after the demo.

People with an hate boner seems to be the one who are coping because other people are having fun with the game, we have a review topic for retarded youtubers opinions, you can post that shit there, in here is for people who actually have the game.

Don't worry dude, forspoken can't hurt you.

I was conflicted because of the reviews but in the end since there are still two weeks until Hogwarts Legacy I gave up and bought the game yesterday :messenger_tears_of_joy:
I've played a few hours, I've met the first Tanta and so far it has been really cool and fun, it also helped that I had already mastered the combat system in the demo.
If the game stays at this level reviews totally understimated it, probably influenced by a negativity that started well before the release and focusing on silly issues like the character's race, the dialogues/humour aimed at teens etc.
This could be the next Days Gone, underrated at launch, re-evaluated by actual players, people will complain if they don't make a sequel because of poor critical reception.

Tried the demo.

It's fucking shit. The dialogue and constant commentary is also incredibly grating.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Triple AAA minigame design: about 15 or so button presses required to win, what a thrill!

For comparison, some games actually trying:

Man the game is quite infuriating after the prologue when you fight the dragon.
You're presented with this insanely stupid way of telling the story, which is basically walk 3 seconds > cutscene > walk 3 seconds > cutscene; just fucking make it either all one cutscene or just let me play.
It left me pretty sour until I actually got outside the city and found a random bear miniboss that was a lot of fun to fight, it can basically one shot you like the dragon so these encounters almost feel like playing a souls game, just more flashy.

So I'm good now, the combat is fun and you can die pretty easily with a single mistake at times, just hope they don't do that insane broken up story telling any more going forward.

The game opens up by chapter 4, the beginning is shitty paced yeah, and the bear is a miniboss that you are not supposed to fight in the first hours.

Return to him when you defeat the major first boss, he is weak to red magic.

Also a useful tip to charge your powers faster

This is 10/10 implementation compared to how they've handled "stealth" sections when you escape the prison.
Oh cmon the game is not a stealth and that section last like 2 min and you don't have any other stealth section in the entire game.

you guys are starting to look a bit desperate by posting dance minigames and stuff that make for the 0,0001% of the game, just saying.

Desperate? I think it's fair criticism. Devs shouldn't put half-assed stuff like that in their videogames, makes it look like a product with 0 passion put into it.

It's in the little details, you know. imo at least

We can't point out terrible game design? That entire prison break section felt like someone's first attempt at video game. Either give me full control OR make it a nice cinematic so I can sip my Togouchi in peace. Don't stop me in my tracks every 10 seconds.

I don't think anyone here likes or excuses this section, gymwolf himself says above that the start is shitty paced, but that doesn't define the game, neither does some random dance mini game; if you want to hate or dislike the game, at least do so for a major reason, like not feeling the combat or not liking open world games in general, not because of some nothingburger mini game, because that's no longer offering criticism, but just pointing the finger going:

"look all the little things I hate, about a game I already said I didn't like"

I have played about 4.5 hours of this game on PC and I like it. I am finding the two leads, Frey and Cuff, to be fairly engaging and I like the banter during cutscenes and so on. What I don't like is the needless swearing, which sounds out of place in a game like this, and the chatter during world traversal would have been fine if not for the fact that they repeats lines constantly, sometimes within a minute of the previous one. The open world isn't massively interesting to explore and finding yet another chest with a herb/mineral inside it is deeply disappointing but it looks nice enough and the storyline and quests are keeping me entertained. I have auto-dodge enabled for the combat, making for a more fun experience (for me personally as I plays games for the experience not challenge) and have been enjoying the speedy traversal and parkour system. Looks and feels like Elden Ring on steroids (and, no, I am not saying that Forspoken is a better game).

I accept I am not that far into it but there have been a few emotional moments and Frey seems to react in a believable way for a streetwise teenager from a completely different world. There's also some nice humour. Hopefully, the game can keep me engaged with its narrative right up to the end but, so far, this seems to be an above average game. I want to get home and play it so it must have something going for it. Performance could be better though on PC. The game runs smooth enough but there is a weird texture bug where they can switch between high and low quality at random, even during the same cutscene. Hopefully the developers can fix that because I never saw this issue at all in the PS5 demo.

I love open world games. Open world RPGs/Action RPGs are easily some of my favourite games.

I don't hate on Forspoken because of one or two short sections. I hate it because it feels like a game crated entirely by an AI. With empty and soulless open world, bland characters and an excuse of a story.

I hope combat will get better but I don't have high hopes. I've already upgraded some powers and when playing on hard, I've beaten the third boss by spamming the same rock throw attack. Enemies are way too spongy on hard. It's probably the laziest possible implementation where they've changed 2-3 variables and called it a day.

Garbage.
