Rabbit Doubt and its sequel Judge are some good "one of us is the killer and we're being forced to play a game by that person" series. Fuan no Tane is major paranoia fuel based around some paranormal short stories. Hideout is more paranoia fuel with some role reversal going on. Goth and Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni are gorey episodic stories with some amazing facial expressions. Ibitsu is essentially a slasher mixed with traditional Japanese horror (probably one of my favorite too).
Start off with those for now.
I'm finalizing the Alabasta arc now. My god One Piece is so fucking good when you read it without interruption. When I first read One Piece, I wasn't too fond of Vivi, but now she's one of my favorite characters. (She's a surprisingly strong character, its a shame she didn't stick around) i'm also really enjoying Usopp's character in the Alabasta arc.
But when it comes to the character who's surprised me the most... Luffy takes the cake. I can't help be amazed at Luffy's characterization in One Piece. Despite being an idiot, he's like the only one who can see the bigger picture (when he told Vivi she was naive for believing she could resolve the alabasta war all by herself, I sweat bullets) , and he's willing to help anyone. I also really like his relationship with Usopp, because it mirrors the relationship I have with my own brother. (who's a year and half younger than me)
He's elevated to #3 in my all time favorite characters.
At this point One Piece is probably my favorite manga.

It's a real manga, and a decent battle shonen assuming you can get over how the colored dude is a gay rapist.

I've been re-reading Slam Dunk again recently and it's my favorite sports manga, but I was wondering what happened with the ending, does it get cut short or something? the final match with Sannoh is indeed incredible and very moving, but just before that match, they've been hyping all these other teams and we didn't get to see them play at all.
also, it'd be cool if the manga continue to 2nd year and see a much more experienced Sakuragi. although I admit, the current ending is still very satisfying because of that last match. I'm not even sure any match after that can stand up to that match against Sannoh since it's obvious Sannoh is the big obstacle within the scope of that national tournament.
oh, and did Sakuragi finally get the girl in the end?

Leon showing up was awesome, and hopefully means a Gray v Leon fight in the arc. Gray actually fighting for Juvia though...

Is this following the anime? I didn't watch it but from what I followed on Random Curiosity, these beach episodes and the ones after featured a lot of fanservice for the wrong characters. I'm hoping that the manga kinda avoids that.

There are good shoujo that have strong shounen elements. People think it is a 24/7 blush-fest which is not true. Oh well, I'll just keep reading my crappy manga. Not like that's new.
I believe they both just follow the LN. Everything in both the manga/anime have lined up thus far.
Go play Katawa Shoujo. Been wasting my entire time on it since yesterday and it's awesome.
I'm so not looking forward to Kobato fanservice.
The manga should be worse based on what I've seen with Kobato; swimsuit color panel, etc... It's annoying. Meat was the main fan-service in the anime except for the OP, which was fine. Kobato still got some focus though with the naked running around... Did you also know about the Tomodachi spin-off Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai +? I haven't tried it but I think it is Sena focused.

It would be nice to have a nice long series to go through cause I've had a lot of misses lately like Vampire Bund. I have mostly anime continues after this with Berserk, Black Lagoon, Claymore, D.Gray-man, Gantz, Pandora Hearts, Sekirei, Soul Eater, etc... Not sure which to attack there or let sit in the backlog. So yea, not having much luck with pick-ups lately.
I do however have to finish Lucifer BH. I have no idea why I keep switching away from it.

Pretty entertaining so far. The games have been interesting and the scale has ramped up really quickly. The first chapter also reminded me of Classroom of Truth from Bakuman.

He got snubbed last arc so he better damn well do something useful this arc.
How are they supposed to swoop in and save the day out of nowhere if they're part of the starting lineup? Besides, Erza alone isn't nearly enough fanservice to cover a whole arc alone.

Anyway if you loved Slam Dunk as much as this post leads me to believe, check out REAL, another sports manga. It's by the same mangaka and has much better art. The main difference between REAL and SD is that the former is a much more personal manga, similarly to his other, equally excellent manga, Vagabond(currently on hold).
I'll have to warn you though, it's release schedule is pretty unpredictable.You can easily go a year without seeing a volume scanlated. Though, what;s available right now is pretty great.

Juvia is great, only worthwhile character in all of FT.
On the subject of FT, I guess this confirms those two dragon dudes are meaniepants?
Their intro panel confirmed that. This confirms they won't get recruited at the end of the arc.
You never know. It could end up being that their Dragon was dying anyways and asked them to kill it or some other such bullshit.
They could end up being Natsu and Gajeel fanboys by the end of the arc.
The mercy of a swift death isn't very shonen. Protagonists would have given a part of their life force to keep their dragon alive. You're right though, anything is possible. Dumber things have happened.
