The physics look almost exactly like Smash Bros. This isn't a bad thing really, but I'm not very optimistic about the lack of damage meters or smash/"ringout" wins. Maybe it'll help differentiate it from Smash, but it's part of the latter game's appeal.
I agree that its part of the latter game's appeal, but I don't see this as a bad way of playing a game like this. Think of it like the dragoon parts. The game is a frantic tug of war to keep someone from reaching their supers. They build meter and you frantically try to take it away. Like when folks would nearly have the full dragoon and you'd frantically rush them down to try and knock parts away from them to avoid the KO.
It'll definitely create a more tense environment in the game that'll make folks play differently than they do in Smash. I'd love to play this sometime to see how this mechanic feels.
