Yeah, I don't mind someone saying something like, "I prefer white men over black men," but I take pause at someone who says, "I will only date a white men/never date black men."

There's a very subtle but important difference between a preference and an exclusion.

A guy can prefer a red haired girl to a blonde haired girl but would he exclude the possibility of dating a blonde haired girl if everything about her matched his ideal image of a mate but for the color of her hair? I think that's going a step too far because there is more to a relationship and a person than the superficial.

I have noticed some Americans use the term Anglo-Saxon loosely to describe white Americans. The English heritage of the US is still somewhat ingrained in the culture of the US.
