I'd just like to see a handheld Pokémon game with servers. You get thrown in a server, you see all of the players on that server around you. The only things you can do with them is trade, battle or chat. That's it.

It'd be simple, yet fantastic at refreshing the Pokémon experience.

Opinianz?

So simple it could be done on the 3DS.

Fan logic: No one wants to play Blizzard games with a shitty N64 controller with no online.

Nintendo logic: No one wants to play Blizzard games on consoles! Ever!

Must..not..get..dehyped..by..bg's..latest..postings.

Be alot better to have realistic expectations than some delusion its going to be special. Its a Suped up 360 and much of the suped up is dedicated to making sure the tablet can run properly. Its basically a 360 with a Wii Tacked on

It would be pretty cool if Nintendo goes after PC games (Blizzard games). The controller really is perfect, and they could appeal to a whole new audience.

Yeah, UPad would be just perfect for RTS games such as SimCity, and the support from Blizzard could be potentially something great, as much as I am not keen to pay a monthly fee to be frank.

At any rate, more realistically I am not that sure Blizzard would give too much support to a home-console - and I'm pretty sure Microsoft may have tried moneyhatting them previously -, since their target platform is the PC and they're banking on it, unless they should believe they could expand their marketshare significantly to justify the effort put into it.

Er, that's hardly accurate at all, actually.
It's quite a bit more than a 360 in terms of what it can do and what the games will look like.
It was never going to be a massive difference, but I'm not sure why people thought that in the first place.
But it's not just a repackaged 360, either.

There hasn't been a new Reggie meme since My Body is Ready. (No, GEOFF isn't one.)

I wouldnt say its quite a bit more. It will offer nicer textures and such but we have developer sources who say it still has trouble reaching 60 FPS at 720P when using the tablet. So a gen later we still cant master the art of 720P. The tablet is a resource drain that they basically boosted the power of the 360 to make up for.

It can barely reach 720P and 60FPS when displaying a 480P image along side it.
720+480=1200
And they don't HAVE to use the tablet.

You're absolutely convinced that the tablet is going to take a ridiculous amount of power to run and that most, if not all games will use it for complex 3D. Why?

Gahiggidy

My aunt & uncle run a Mom & Pop store, "The Gamecube Hut", and sold 80k WiiU within minutes of opening.
....

LOL. I think it will still look the same later. I also believe the Wii case can handle more than its 18W TDP and GC's case with its ~40W? TDP. Most likely depends on how quiet they want to be. In fact I would argue the noise level is the bigger limiter than the current case size.
Well, what are the odds Nintendo came up with a fanless cooling system? Like that sub from The Hunt For Red October?

Im convinced almost no games will use the tablet properly and the tablet will be a waste of manufacturing budget that could have brought the machine closer to the next gen instead of closer to the 360.

Oh lord, reminds me of those bygone days in the Revolution speculation thread where liquid cooling kept getting brought up over and over.

Ah, so naive...so innocent...

Implying that Nintendo chose the screen over raw power~

Damn, I would've thought they'd use Shy Guys. Too high latency, I guess...

They would have been an improvement over the goombas.

I think that's kind of unfair. It would be one thing if Wii U couldn't achieve that without the controller, but this is normally the case while using the controller. And even then I bet that's just using the GPU as a standard GPU.

Ah, so it's more that you're extremely pissed off about the controller.

Personally, I highly doubt that Nintendo would have chosen to make a more powerful console if they had gone with a different controller. They probably would have just gone for a cheaper price. Also, I doubt that the controller added more than $50 to the cost, so it's not like we would have ended up with some hex-core, underclocked 7850-based beast of a console otherwise.
