Capcom announces E.X. Troopers for 3DS/PS3 [Website and trailer online]

That looks great. First thing I thought of was how much this could have been an awesome Megaman game as well.

Hope it turns out as an awesome 3DS game.

This looks awesome.

It really does remind me of what we saw of Mega Man Legends 3.

Plus giant robots just fucking rock.

Hmm I never really liked the style of Lost Planet, but this I might be able to get into. Not sure if I'd get it for 3DS or PS3, depends mostly on the control scheme.

That looks pretty cool.

But I can't help but wonder how Capcom will fuck this up closer to launch.

Every game from them that i am interested in, they do something stupid and everyone shits on it.

But seriously though...

I could be very interested in this kinda thing, but I fully expect capcom to dio everything in their power to make it undesirable.

The ugly textures imply 3DS but the more complex models imply PS3. I don't know man.
It's probably the PS3 port.

Either way it's the best thing to come out of the Lost Planet IP.

Those aren't complex models. And the backgrounds, while nice looking, are super low complexity. Also the first part of footage shows NPCs fading into view very close to the player.

Probably PS3 version though lol

Fuck Lost Planet, this is where its at. I'm a bit surprised at the platform choices. I'm good for it though, 3DS all the way. I feel like Capcom has been trolling the shit out of Sony lately though. :/

My first instinct, watching the way the characters move and animate in the game's cutscenes, was "Oh, so this is what happened to all the work they did for Megaman Legends 3."

Actually I had the very same thought.

Looks pretty good though, loving the artstyle and the comic book/manga motif.

Look at those fingers man! They're not square sausages!!! Everything else is pretty standard 3DS looking.

Bear in mind two things:

1) Cel-shading can be misleading with regards to model complexity.

2) Capcom are fucking amazing with the 3DS. See: Resi, MonHun

I'm gonna say 3DS. If it's the PS3 version, well, it doesn't look too good does it? I don't see why they'd show it off in that case, unless the 3DS version is a real piece of work.

Looked to me like a ground-bound sort of Gunvalkyrie. Which I know is weird because GV is all about being aerial, but in the sense of it being a third-person shooter with a lot of dashing moves. And also shooting giant insects.

Screenies:

The aspect ratio is roughly equivalent to the 3DS', it resizes to 400x250, kinda shows further evidence of at least the 3DS version looking like what we've seen, like the footage was the PS3 version and these screens being 3DS, so no difference as I thought.

As others have said, this would be pretty bad for PS3 standards.

I thought the same thing. Mm, i'm excited.

LOL 3rd that thought! XD

Animation needs work, graphics don't look much better than a PS2 game, and the art style (other than the mecha) does nothing for me. Verdict: meh.

If nothing else, the game is going to have an amazing soundtrack. The song in the trailer sounds like something that could've been in RRT4.

Looks great, love the style. The animations do look like they're taken from the Megaman Legends 3 demo. It looks like there's some kind of auto aiming though, it that how Lost Planet plays?
