You don't have a clue about football if you really believe that. One of the most deserved champions if there is such a thing.

2 goals conceeded all tournament - an own goal and a penalty. That team was full of class players.

Only saw the highlights as I was at work but I'm really happy for Balotelli, you could see how much it meant to him.

I enjoy more entertaining football too and I will be supporting Italy in the final but the bias against more defensive oriented teams by many in gaf is kind of ridiculous. I mean you can not enjoy the football they play but still conclude that they deserve their success. That is of course about the good ones, there are sides who focus on defense that are not sufficiently good.

I hope Italy crushes Spain in the finals. I think they deserve a second place once in a while. :)

Look, when I say luck is because in this kind of tournament luck is always a factor. This isn't a NBA finals first to 4, this is a single match where everything can happen (like a bad decision from the referee). So that's okay if you don't agree with me, but don't pull the "you don't understand football", because those who don't understand football are the people who think luck doesn't matter and it's always the best that deserves the win.

Looking at the WC and Euro statistics, they both seem to perform equally bad.

I think Netherlands have the most runner ups and Germany with the most 3rd place finishes.

I didn't say luck doesn't matter, it can matter but in case if Italy in 2006 it was great performances over luck.

You said they were awful, which is factually incorrect, they won the world cup. Greece won the euros which is arguably easier to manufacture a "lucky streak" since there are less teams/matches.

You're kidding yourself if you think that team was bad, internationally one of the best defenses ever.
