The game has the scale, the animations, the style and the gameplay. All it lacks is the textures and the IQ. But I take the former everyday over the latter.

And I guess we'll see the game on some console in the future, like every MH before - so that'll settle the last issues the games has.

Played it 3 times today. It's not reinventing the wheel, but man. Riding a monster feels so amazing. The multi level gameplay adds so much more excitement and fun. Love love love all the things they've added this time around.

Thanks for sharing this. I got Tri for my brother but never really tried the series before, yet I LOVE awesome creature design and this series seems packed full of it. The black dragon in MH4, Goa Magara, looks amazing -- definitely worthy of the cover. I guess we'll see.

Yeah they did a live demonstration of it onstage. It doesn't get more confirmed than that.

Look at any video of it. The texture detail is far higher than MH4.

It doesn't look worse than the PSP games, at all...PSP couldn't even run MH4 as-is

I'm really confused about how I feel it looks graphically....

On one hand, the game has a draw distance that is unparalleled on 3DS all while having some of the best shader usage, brilliant colors, and beautiful animation (cloth, hunter movements, monster movements, etc.), but on the other side of this are the HORRENDOUS textures that nearly ruin the entire presentation for me (I mean jeez,some of the textures really do look like nearly N64).


Why has Capcom not chosen to use an LoD system to stream in better textures for objects closer. They really need to fix this...

I absolutely -love- the colors in this game. The neon green plains with bright red rocks; the crimson leaves of autumn; the glowing gold desert. It's just beautiful. You can shuffle these screens among shots of a thousand other games and they would stand out because they have such strong colors and contrast. Simply gorgeous.
