lol this is the first time I've ever seen a remake of an amazing map and people complain about how it's too similar.

Also, Mantis is multiplayer makes me a happy boy. That thing is gonna look ominous as hell on the battlefield.

Probably pretty obvious beforehand, but I guess Voc was talking about Ragnorok in yesterday's Bulletin:

Last week, we were playing Regicide on an unannounced map, which is a large symmetrical map that fans will unquestionably dig – evergreen, plenty hilly, and Forerunnerlicious.

Tell me the intricacies of the Megalo scripting system.

Sorry, let me clarify; I know what I'm talking about when it comes to Halo game BALANCE.

And on top of that, nothing you said disproves what I said. Ok you're so good. Why aren't you a pro like he is? Wait. Must be that disparity kicking in.

I didn't compete after Halo CE because I had no faith in the game. I didn't want to waste money competeting in a game I didn't feel adequately rewarded individual ability.

Also, I'm pretty Karma had more than one GT, but I have no solid backing on that. You may be one of those pro stalkers who cares/knows about that stuff. Also, let me just save you some time; I'm totally lying. I never played Karma and I was terrible at Halo 2. I don't know what I'm talking about and Halo 2 was the best game ever.

If anyone is wondering why I kept missing the Watchers and the Banshees (and kind of the Elites, but I was able to lead those shots) it's because there was RIDICULOUS lag in the AV system in the hall. Made me miss a neat little vignette, but we will put out a better playthrough at some point.

Thats the only reason Im not pro right now.

You shouldn't use this as an argument/insult because you don't know what was going on in BigShow's life at the time.. Not taking sides but many of these dudes who became pro/famous with Halo 2 (Red Alert (H1 name for Shockwave), Gandhi, TSquared (always had a bad attitude)) were no where near as good as many other people in Halo 1 who for whatever reason couldn't attend tournaments and put as much time into Halo competitively.

Just saying..

I'm lovin' it.

Vahalla? Why? Don't Containment, Waterworks, Relic and Terminal exist in 343s eyes?
WAAY the hell late to this party... but man, you sound like a Jewish grandmother here.

My grandmother gave me a red sweater and a blue sweater for my birthday. I opened them both, ran upstairs, put on the red one, came back down.

"What's the matter... you didn't like the blue one?"

I hope you guys are right about it being less of a problem. And I hope 343 is proactive in fixing it if it does become a problem. It felt like they completely ignored it in Reach which made it even more infuriating.

It sounds like it should be less of a problem. We won't know for sure until Nov. 6th.

It looks like most of the vehicles have been buffed in terms of HP and damage dealt, and tuned in other ways to help offset the fact that plasma pistol starts are going to be common on any vehicle map. And it's also looking like maps with heavy vehicles are going to have plenty of them, so you kind of have to buff HP and damage for those frequent encounters as well.

You mean the big ass hill in the middle and rocks/trees all over the place don't cut down sightlines enough in your opinion?

My two concerns with the DMR:

It can tag players in their bases from the hill, where the BR was out of range. That will make a decent part of the map between the hill and the base off limits when the hill is taken because of the extended range. It's also going to result in more cross-map shoot outs - think Hemorrhage - and hamper movement along the sides as players work to approach the hill.

It also means you can't flank the hill as effectively taking the turret/bubble shield side of the map. Again, the hill was out of range of the BR and so just plain going around it on foot or with a Mongoose/Warthog was a viable option. But now players from the hill will be able to tag everyone on the map - end to end, side to side. That's now how the hill was intended to function.

Early on, you had Halo in your life.

Can't you "tag" them back?

Well at least it's not Reach.

I'd rather play zero-bloom Reach than Halo 3.

So pooped I cant make this. :( Always wanted to defeat the world.

But but but... who am I suppose to creep in the matchmaking lobby to see when the mods go searching to have a slightly better chance of getting matched up with them?!

Is it confirmed Halo 4 will be given out as prizes?

I'll endure one final day of Halo: Reach :p
Yup, they've already got four copies to give out, with more on the way. The feats for winning the copies haven't been determined yet, however it'll probably go along the lines of steaking them, getting a perfection or extermination against them, etc.

I will end you

hahah - I tend to find that whichever Halo game people started with and put massive amounts of time into they say is the best.

I started day one with Halo 1 and can say without a doubt that the competitive scene was far more intense than any game in the series. That being said, if the exact style was made today for Matchmaking, the game would tank.

The whole Multiplayer was completely based off whoring those Rockets, some powerups and manipulating the spawns. No matter how disgusting you were with the Pistol, if you couldn't control at least the Rockets, you would get destroyed. I'm not sure if many of people can truly accept that that's bad gameplay for a large majority of Halo's population, especially these days, but it is.

I'm as big a Halo 1 fan as anyone else, but that exact set up of gameplay would simply not work for Matchmaking these days. There was just too much skill and metagame going on in Halo 1 that would turn off so many new players..

..which is then why, if you were heavily involved with the community at the time, you would've saw so many people drop out of Halo shortly after Halo 2 came around. Everything changed. Bungie took the series in a way they thought would appeal to a wider audience by adding massive auto aim/bullet magnetism and just overall weaker gameplay. Not to mention the one man dominance literally vanished over night..

But I digress. Halo 4 is heading towards a place I personally haven't seen in around 8 years - a place with POWERFUL weapons and much more consistent gameplay, so with that I'm truly happy.

Who knows, maybe one day we'll get a Multiplayer remake of Halo 1 on XBLA :b - but until then, 343.. You will have my Sword in battle <3
