Nintendo Direct EU [and now US] about Wii U + 3DS on 5th Dec @ 5pm GMT

laughing so hard at people assuming there will be nothing worthwhile on the 3DS eshop until march/april. seriously, you guys who only pay attention to known quantities bore me. step outside of your normal comfy safe zones.

anyone who just said something to the effect of 'welp, not touching my 3DS until April' is being a game grump and lying to themselves

Why would you want Google maps on a device that A. can't print and B. can't be taken out of the house?

I need my Animal Crossing date, it's just sloppy of them to not commit at this point.

They seem to be pushing google maps as a virtual world tour as opposed to a map service. Not a bad concept if they bookmark famous locations/monuments around the world for people to view.

Is Wario Land 3 better than 4? Got the latter free as an Ambassador, and it didn't exactly grab me.

OH MY GOD NINTENDO. You actually named a month! You didn't use Q! Still, that's basically another title we're not getting until Q2. Nintendo need to hire more/better translators :

But naming April rather than Q2 means anything announced as Q2 is probably May or June then

They should feature the Google Maps April Fool Dragon Quest mode (search YouTube if you don't know to what I am referring)

It's amazing how disgruntled people become over release dates. From what I seen there is a lot of great stuff to look forward to and it'll be with us within a reasonable time.

Well, I guess it amazes you if you can only put yourself in the mindset that we all like only the same stuff? I'm glad there's plenty of stuff there for you, and personally I think I'm admitting to myself that I had no business buying a 3DS. I figured there would be plenty of things I'd want to buy and play but that has just not been the case. But yea, people are gonna be disgruntled if there's nothing that's appealed to them (for me it's been since March, that's a year :( ), it' not too out there. I expected more third party stuff I guess after the initial wave of Resi and MGS *shrug*

Was really looking forward to release dates for Wonderful 101, Rayman Legends and Animal Crossing. Two of those didn't even show and the other is not being release for another 6 months. Great.

Might try out Lego City Undercover, assuming it releases sometime in January or February.

Also, I'm interested in Shibata's saying that Luigi might have more than one game in 2013.

pretty pathetic wii u line up there. I hope third parties pick up the slack, although I am not expecting much in that regard.

Whats the point in these Nintendo directs? They never show anything we havent already seen 1000 times.

I still have no idea what the hell is being released on my 3DS next year beyond Luigi and Castlevania. Nothing I have any remote interest in anyway.

March will be *brutal*.

It's just crossed my mind that I'm off on holiday at the end of April, too; being able to stock up on 3ds stuff before I do will be very useful.

Should we assume that NA will get Animal Crossing: New Leaf when it releases in EU? I thought it was strange that they did not mention it on the NA Nintendo Direct.

Mpl90

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Why both Luigi and BA are released in March in Europe? However, there's a Nintendo title in February in Europe: Scribblenauts XD
From March, my 3DS will be so on :lol

Whelp, seems my 3DS is going to remain unused.

I just now if I sell it that Nintendo will release something I really want though (Fatal Frame 3D, for example).

Nintendo just needs to stop having these Directs. They never have enough content to warrent even doing them. All I was looking for was a solid Animal Crossing release date and a sliver of hope they would say something about DQX.

The only solid thing they confirmed was the Fire Emblem release date and they had a few new videos. If these are going to be that barren of actual announcements they should just put the videos up on youtube and just tell news outlets when Fire Emblem is coming out. These things just highlight how little they have coming out.

I'm willing to eat shit (metaphorically speaking) if there's anything substantial for Wii U, except for maybe a trailer for that DC fighting game.

Yeah, I don't think Nintendo sees any reason to have announcements for this pseudo gaming event of all places, nor is the doritopopes audience interested in the next Kirby or Fire Emblem, etc.
On the other hand, if any upcoming 3rd party had a WiiU version coming it would have been revealed by now. And looking at how 3rd parties treat the WiiU currently and what kind of games have been revealed at the VGAs, I predict no WiiU presence at all.

Why? It's a brilliant marketing strategy. People come for the hype and leave with knowledge about Nintendo's upcoming library!

(and disappointments...)
