Any word on a patch? AMD on Win8 and I get really annoying stutter.

There are no clear options for switching resolutions/windowed mode. Iirc the devs did mention that they were working on updating the windowed mode in the game later, but I have no idea if that notion received any traction.

just found this thread to post. love it, but 'hotline miami.exe has stopped working' is the order of the day on a windows 8 box.
shame, cause game is cool. controls need work though, I only die due to controller issues. it's quite hard with the xbox pad. control issues usually make me hate a game, but not this one, core gameplay is solid. Like the puzzle nature of the murdering.

Game actually reminds me a little bit of Dark Souls in that each room and segment needs you to concentrate and -execute- each and every time and one screw up, one over step, one missed enemy, one early swing, or a shot when there's too many enemies around and... DO IT AGAIN!

I wish I could freely pick weapons at the start of a game though. A second playthrough seems so useless...
It seems to vary a lot. Some people can't play twenty minutes without the game crashing. For me, it never crashed at all.

The one I got the most out of was the door kill one. Nothing like rushing into a tiny room with two guys, killing one with the door and the other with the samurai sword!
So much stuff made me feel so guilty for being able to kill people en masse. At least, that's how I felt at the start. Run into view quickly, run back to corner, wait for them to come for you... slaughter them all. Cathartic.

When the hell is the Mac version out? Ridiculous. And what about patching the game so it works properly? Such a shame that such a great game has so little polish.

For costume purposes and because I'm somewhat colorblind... is the letterman jacket Green and Yellow, Red and Yellow or Brown and Yellow?
I see Green but my girlfriend sees Red... and she's not colorblind. But I still can't see Red. oO

Any puzzle pieces guide? I beat it last night but want to get all the letters
Brown and yellow. The yellow has a greenish tint, but it's definitively yellow.
Also, sick poster, wish I had it, though I don't think I'd wanna enter my room again...

I see green, she sees red (more specifically bordeaux). I can kind of see it being brown. But to me it's just green. I need more input here.Also yeah awesome poster. And I figured hey, since I already have a very similar pig mask, blue jeans (duh) and my brother has one of those white high top Nike sneakers, this is probably the easiest costume ever. Except for the axe, but the dude wields a baseball bat in the game so meh, good enough.

Good to hear! I'm at chapter 10 and I've had around two dozen crashes to desktop. After five crashes on chapter 10 I had consigned myself to writing off the game and any sequels just because of how unplayably buggy it was.
There hasn't been a patch in a while so hopefully they've gone all out on this one so I can get back to enjoying this game.

I hope this thing gets patched soon so people can stop complaining and just enjoy one of the most important games to come out in recent times. It never crashed on me, though, and I managed to get all the puzzle pieces and never once used auto-aim. Just got in a zen-like state when I was playing.
In case anyone is on the fence about this one it has:
Perfect level design. I wouldn't change a single thing about any level's design or enemy placement.
An amazing soundtrack. It perfectly captures the tone of the game.
Game mechanics which feed off of and into the game's story and tone. Everything you do feels dirty, perfectly matching the story and adding to it, while the story itself changes how the game plays.
I'm being vague on purpose as I don't want to spoil things, but I have not played a game that is able to interconnect all of its various parts into a cohesive whole this well in a very long time.

Going to defer to zkylon here. It's brown and yellow, where the shadow on the left sleeve(and basically the whole right sleeve) give off almost a green tint.

For the purposes of our discussion, brown and bordeaux are the same color. Brown and yellow.
I can understand this kind of comments because at first the controls seem like a complete, unplayable disaster. But if you stick with it you'll get used to the quirkiness.

This is a game you like in spite of how it controls.
That is a really level headed reponse to a throwaway comment that my blood boil for a fraction of a second.
But yeah I can understand if someone doesn't likw the game. It's really rigid, but awesome.
