I haven't even played a third version since Yellow, so "dealing" with this being so soon after B2/W2 is a situation I'm in for the first time.

I'm sure it'll be alright, new gens always introduce enough to the formula to reignite that fire. Exciiiiiited.

Ah yes. I'd really like the feeling of the unknown. Imagine not knowing the Pokemon, their evolutions, the places... :3 I CANNOT WAIT.
Walking through a patch of high grass with no information available anywhere on what you can find there. Facing off against Gym Leaders, Elite Four and Champions that you have no way of looking up strategies for.

It's going to be great.

Well, I guess I'm gonna have to re-buy a 3DS by October. I'm really looking forward to seeing what they've done to improve the series on 3DS. I guess the hype was warranted for this announcement.

Also, whoever doesn't like Chespin is an awful, awful person.

Looks great! I'm glad they finally moved on to the 3DS and 3D.

Worldwide launch is also great news, the wait for black and white to be localized was a bit too long.

And as usual the fire starter is the best. Fennec Fox ftw.

Anyone else think they'll go back to a third version ala XYZ as in three axis for 3D?

dude Blastoise had CANNONS, motherfucking cannons out of his back, he is like a tank, he is just shitting on everyone.

But yes Charizard is also awesome, but a wannabe dragon.

Yo, but Charizard had a flaming tail and of the three looks the coolest as a shiny. Freaking not only does he get the Orange/Blue, but also Red/Black. Charizard was one slick mammajamma.

Don't forget Dragonair, guys. He was beautiful and then became something.. something else.

If Dragonite had only kept Dragonair/Dratini's aesthetic it would've been awesome. Ditch the antennae for those white fins of its predecessors, paint it blue and white, and color the eyes black. MUCH BETTER.

Handhelds again...lame. I guess Gale of Darkness will be the last "good" pokemon game we get on a console.

Speaking Of shinies, I wonder what they would look like...and they have to make a shiny 3d model for over 700+ pokemon and alternate forms.....

The shinies don't have any physical differences, just colors. Easy texture change, you don't have to remodel them.

Ok I just turned my 3ds on for the first time in ages, I have to download a system update.

The update crashes halfway through.

What to do :(

Thinking about starting over Pokemon Black in order to hype myself up for this new one..
I never finished it; I stopped about half way through.

I'll just delete my file and start over.

Recolour the textures Smash style. They already did this for Pokémon Stadium on the N64 which was before shinies even existed (nicknames changed the colours)

Will QA for food.
I have only played Yellow. How will this game 'feel' for me?

Compare Super Mario Bros to NSMB U. It's a similar formula, but with a lot more added over the years. Pokemon has come a long way since Yellow in terms of gameplay and hidden mechanics. Parts will seem familiar (the beginning, catching Pokemon), but it will generally be all new for you.
