I was playing playstation all star battle royale and that game is such a tease!
The graphics of characters and stages really show vita is more than capable.

The beginning of resistance stage shows the potential of a fps with amazing graphics on the vita! god of war stage is also awesome!

lets hope killzone really nails it!

can someone please post that gif again!

EDIT: Top of page. Buy Stranger's Wraith. Amazing value of money!

This happens to me all the time, and it's not just the corner that janks out. Rebooting is about all I can do. Thankfully it's only happened to me once WHILE I was in-game. Usually its occurrence is relegated to the menus.

Yeah, this happens mainly in menu's and web browsing. TBH, I'm kinda relieved it isn't just me. Thought maybe my Vita was dying on me. I don't think it's a hardware issue since it works perfectly after a reboot.

I've had a few occasions where the screen stops being responsive, but never anything that doesn't resolve itself.

Looks like I missed all the "fun" today, thankfully.

Theirs actually not many. Right now even on GS they only list these 2 games, and these other 2 Lego games.

- Soul Sacrifice
- Warrior's Lair

If you look in Japan though, they have a ton of good Vita games being released that year.

- One Piece pirate Warriors 2
- Project Versus J
- Tales of hearts R
- Senran Kagura Sinovi Versus
- Phantasy Star Online 2
- Meruru no Atelier Plus
- Dragon's Crown

Man i wish they'd bring some of these over here. Sadly though we probably won't have 90% of these over here.

Thanks. It's a little depressing there are so few physical releases coming up soon, but hopefully digital releases continue to be great. Plus my backlog is big enough as it is - I probably shouldn't worry too much about new games when I've barely touched Gravity Rush or ACIII:L.

I have a question about the Remote Play functionality. Is it normal that there is a black border around the game even though they are running at 720p on the PS3 where it's fullscreen?

720p videos on the Vita are properly full screen.

Was it ICO or SotC?

You need to do "full pixel mode" in the game options at least for SotC.

Oh wow! Here I'm Denmark, Elgiganten has Everybody's Golf and Reality Fighters for $7 each. Though I wanted Resistance for that price but it's sold out. =(

Thanks for the heads-up on these offers. Fellow Dane here ;)

Just ordered Everybody's Golf for that price from their website, couldn't resist it at that price based on all the talk about the game in this thread :)

okay, I'm probably missing something really obvious here, but I'll ask. Can you not filter the games in your download list by platform? Why must I scroll through dozens of PS3 games and DLCs on the Vita store?

No, there's no way. Filter and search function on the download list are long requested functions, and they have not implemented it yet :( Though they say it's coming for the new store...

There's no sorting options for your download list of any sort. It's been a chief complaint since day 1 of PSN in general.

I finally got some time for videogames this weekend and the Vita is all I wanted to play. Unit 13 and Hot Shots Golf are so good. I'm finally making my way through the silver challenges in Hot Shots after putting a good couple hours into practicing.

A while back, we closed the Vita thread and allowed this PSN game and service thread to be created. However, it has become what is essentially the same thread with a different name, covering all aspects of the Vita from hardware problems to sales and and more.

It's also become an insular clubhouse where members who feel that they cannot comfortably discuss the Vita in the rest of the forum come to chat. Sometimes this type of chat goes entirely too far, to the point of people whining about other posters and threads in the safety of an echochamber, which is not the type of thing we want here on GAF. It's understandable to be frustrated with the trends of discussion surrounding the Vita as they are, and we will be trying to do a better job of keeping blatant trolling and non-discussion to a minimum as we move forward, but the aforementioned behavior is contrary to the type of environment we want GAF to be.

As a result, here's what we will be doing from now on:

1) This Vita PSN & Game Service thread may continue, but not in its current form. We want it to be switched over to a monthly format, and for each month's thread to have an updated OP with all of the new games and service information so that discussion in the thread is easier for newcomers to participate in. This also serves the purpose of keeping Vita news at the forefront rather than buried in a lengthy thread.

2) The meta discussion about other members, threads and the forum itself are not welcome. From here on out, that type of discussion will be treated just as it is in the rest of the forum. If you have a problem with a particular thread or member, by all means bring it to a moderator's attention and if it crosses the line, it will be dealt with, but do not derail threads - including this one - with that sort of discussion any further.

goddamn :\

I didn't have a PSP so the issue's never really come up for me before now. I rarely even looked at my download list on PS3 anyway.

You're very welcome. You should add me.

PSN: Anastacio

I just wonder, if I'll be able to get Resistance for 44,- DDK as the customer support promised me, now that they have taken it down from their website.

Inevitable post.

I had the feeling this was gonna be the case when coming in and seeing nothing but a page of people complaining about other threads. Even tried to veer the discussion somewhere else, but no bite. :/

I assume we should take up a format similar to the Fighting Game Weekly/Achievement Hunting threads?

This why I don't like this thread. Instead of discussing(aka complaining and whining) about the next "doomed[or something" thread in that specific thread, they decide to come in here and muck everything up. While not a wanted switch in how the threads are going to be setup, I like it. It provides for a new, clean OP every month and will be easier to keep track of questions and discussions.

I'm glad the mods are letting us keep the thread, even if it's not in the same form as before... or now. :p

So the same thing, except without the incessant (and valid) bitching about weekly Vita death threads.

I get the feeling we'll be having the conversation again in the future, because the threads, and our discontent towards them (leading to the insular discussion) aren't going to stop. NeoGAF has become a predatory forum when cynicism and vitriol is rewarded with re-quotes and adulation. And in that sense, you're curbing the symptom and not the cause.

I'm a little sad, but that is fair. I do agree about the meta discussion, though.

The only bad thing in those threads is the trolling - it's a worthwhile discussion to be having - the "How Sony might save the Vita" thread is interesting in that it's drawing a lot of people to suggest what might make them buy one - and there's some good suggestions in there.

For the new page: can anyone in the states use the shop yet? I'm still getting errors all over the place =\

Oh, and while I'm here: are there any good shooters on the shop (baring the obvious stuff like UC and Stranger's Wrath)?

As far as I can tell the only thing that will change is the thread title every month. And no whining about other threads. Both are fine with me.

I can use it fine. Unit 13 is probably the best shooter so far. I don't really consider Stranger's Wrath or Uncharted shooters though since thats only part of what they do.

Thanks for the clearup, Aeana.

I've been a little tired of some people in here bemoaning everything outside of this thread, and while I get frustrated too, I think as a community we might've done a better job of creating a more welcoming, positive and ultimately more productive experience for everyone.

That said, I'm happy to see things change up.

No one is forced to participate in threads they don't want to. If you feel that a thread is shit, you are free to not post in it, not give it any attention, and move on. There are plenty of threads I feel are silly or a waste of my time too. I just don't click on them. If it bothers you enough that you want to form a resistance against it, that's probably a sign that you are taking it too personally and should take a step back. This is a forum where people with different interests interact and talk about games in Gaming, or whatever other interests they have in Off-Topic. Sometimes it is okay to agree to disagree. Sometimes the reality of a situation is disappointing. It's okay. Life goes on.

If there is something going on in a thread with is against the rules or a heated debate has turned into childish name calling, it would be more effective to PM a mod about it rather than to complain about it on the forum itself. That just turns into an reinforcement activity instead of actually wanting to make discussion on the forum better.

The monthly thread's OP will also need to be kept updated. So whoever volunteers to make these monthly threads should keep that in mind.

Also, to make it clear, we want to move over to this rapidly, so hopefully someone will be able to volunteer and put something together soon.

Both are good changes, and essentially needed ones at that. Much cleaner OPs and better discussions that (usually) won't be clouded up.

Wouldn't it be better to wait a few days so we can start the February thread then instead of making a January thread for... 9 days? Unless we should make the February one now.

If we could put all the trolls and whiners in a boat and send them off somewhere, this place would be the greatest spot on the internet. Unfortunately this is the internet and a gaming discussion site so fanboyism tends to run a little rampant. As mostly a lurker I try to avoid reading threads like that (ie. Vita is dead WiiU is doomed type threads) simply because nothing good ever comes out of them. Little real discussion and nothing but trolling, flaming and whining which is really pointless.

Back to the games!

So if someone were to maybe want to check out the Ys series of games where would be a good place to start?

Also I can finally add money to my PSN wallet via the website. Yesterday I couldn't get it to work for anything. Today it worked first try, internet you so crazy!

Luckily, I don't post in them, so that isn't necessarily the issue (on my end, at least - can't speak for the ones who are banned).

But I fail to see how going after the whining metadiscussion is going to prevent it from happening again. Because we're only human, and the drive by piss contests aren't going to stop, if any Vita thread can be used as an example. So again, symptom and cause. I find one to be a lot more toxic than the other. They're both useless, but if the current tone of Vita threads continue, meta whining will just end up cropping up again, even if a more moderated monthly thread diminishes it to a whisper.

I have to say I appreciate the mods intentions, cos it is a bit meta in here (I'm sure I've contributed to that)

But it seems like you are cracking down in our thread, yet doing nothing to people who openly shit in the vita in stupid idiotic ways. I've seen many many more people get banned that try to point this out than people who are being stupid in the first place.

It needs sorting out or it will kill half this community, not just vita but wii u, and no doubt whichever next gen console doesn't sell well.

Then both us and the mods have to do our part. We try to keep meta discussion low, while Aeana already said that they're going to try keep blatant shitposting to a minimum.

By all means, create the February one now. It's fine if there isn't a new thread up today or tomorrow. We don't want something sloppily thrown together either. Take a little bit of time to plan it, but post it when it's ready, rather than waiting for the beginning of the month.

I get the feeling we'll be having the conversation again in the future, because the threads, and our discontent towards them (leading to the insular discussion) aren't going to stop.

NeoGAF aspires to be a reality-based community. If you own (and love) a gaming system that isn't finding traction in the marketplace, you need to be able to deal with that like an adult. That means, among other things, being able to take it in stride that other people on the same forum might be having a discussion about how a given company has fucked up from a business standpoint.

Wanting this thread to be a place where you can talk directly about games or services on the Vita without every conversation devolving into sales and business strategy is entirely legitimate, but that means that anyone who drags those topics in here to bitch about them is fucking it up for everyone else. Our goal here is to make these threads better for actually talking about what you can do on the system, as well as more useful for finding out what games and new features have recently come out.

Volunteer to keep up the monthly thread here. I'm already whipping something up.

Please call it "PSN Game and Service Thread" like the current title. We're aiming to keep the |OT| designation very specifically to individual game official threads, and we want to focus this thread very specifically on what's being updated on PSN each month, rather than any kind of hardware or retail discussion or general system health.

It might be helpful if there are links in the new OP to the other Vita threads and rules for what is appropriate to post here so that the other threads may get new posts. There are a lot of questions posted here that belong in the "Vita Hardware/OS/Firmware" thread, however few even know it exists.

We don't read every single post on the forum, so if you feel a poster is acting in an improper manner, simply PM a link to their post(s), an explanation of why you feel they're behaving incorrectly, and enter this in to Recipient Username(s) box: Aeana ; Nirolak ; charlequin

We will then look over the posts and make a judgment.

Lyphen, I think keeping monthly topics is a great idea because it will do what we should be doing : discussing what's relevant. The more we do that I think the less likely we are to see bitching crop up.

Certainly you would find one to be more toxic than the other because you would rather the platform you like isn't criticized as much and filled with negativity. As such you feel that you are entitled to complain about it on the forum. Well, you're not. Negativity is an opinion, and it's something which can be approached in a mature way. If you disagree then this forum might not be for you.

Again - personally I agree to a point, threads discussing the facts are welcome.

When the front page is full of threads openly hating the platform with half baked theories and other bullshit it's different.

That's what I was thinking. But I agree, I want a nice and slick OP that's appealing to the eye. You can't whip that together in less than a day! :P

I feel I should post to say I'm not hating on the mods too.
