Still got at least a couple of months to go before I'll end up playing it. I wonder how useful the extra content will be. Being able to choose your skills in fusion already sounds like a godsend

It does make it kind of easy, although the dungeon bosses still take me a long time to beat. But pretty much every one of my fused personas has Growth 3 and most have Invigorate 2 (I haven't seen 3 yet).

Salaadin do your job.

Also YAS! P4G was my #1 reason I got a Vita. I wanted it on portables so bad. My #1 game ever. Also don't judge me but FFX-2 is also my #2. I played that game more than P4 actually. If Square just made an HD version for Vita it's like PS2 all over again. Except without KH ;_;

LOL, its such an awesome portable game fit everyone should get P4G

Listen to this man YAS^

S'all about Marie, man.

I jumped back into it last night and I'd obviously saved right before a boss, forgot that I hadn't levelled and promptly kicked the bucket.

What alignment is she? Fool?

I thought the original game was pretty straightforward bar the first boss that spammed a lot of fire moves. This one seems easier. And there was one move which I liked having on most people. Not Victory Cry, but the lesser version. Cool Breeze I think it was called? It restored SP at the end of the battle or something.

On my US account now with a lot of PS1/PSP games to play, so it'll be a while till I switch back to my main UK profile and get a chance to play Persona.

And speaking of US account I noticed something wrongwith the Vita, or more specifically it's store. Unless I'm mistaken, can you not buy Avatars or PSP DLC? I can always do it on PS3, but it's kinda annoying and a silly oversight.

The only thing I'm bummed about P4G (aside from the fact that I'm still waiting for it from VGP, it's three weeks today, but that was expected) is that I played P4 UNDUB on PS2, I know the american dub is decent but I'll really miss the japanese voices :(

Why was that expected? They're usually super quick. In customs or something?

Mid/late game certain characters become God tier and it's basically impossible to die in a normal fight on the medium difficulty.

And no, don't think you can buy avatars and stuff. Which is bad, but not as bad as the general EU selection of avatars compared to the US. You should be able to get PSP DLC, though? ~

She is Aeon. And yea youre thinking of cool breeze.

Can't recall any Aeon persona's. And even though Victory Cry is miles better, Cool Breeze was more useful since it was so much easier to obtain. I remember when I was grinding for persona cards, I would just spam Megidaolan every battle since no one was immune to it.

Any new persona's that would top a well done Yoshitsune? He's Tower if I remember.

Yeah it's once you get access to persona's that grant you immunity to things, the ability to start with Tri-Auto and moves like Debilitate. Then with the other characters star getting Mind/Power charge and the like the game just becomes easy

And I couldn't find PSP DLC on the store. If I check my download list it says they're not Vita compatible. I transfered from PS3. Not the end of the world, but I'd rather not kick someone off the PS3 if they're playing, so I end up waiting needlessly

Don't buy Persona 4 Golden, Street Fighter X Tekken, or Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. It sends a bad message.

My Vita library includes:
Disgaea 3.
Persona 4.
Rayman.
Sonic Racing.
Metal Gear Solid.

Upcoming and wish-list: Dead or Alive 5. Atelier series. Disgaea 4.

Gimme all the ports and multiplatform releases.

13 days brah.

Are we seriously doing this? I mean $20 bucks i'm on board so what the heck. And how can you be against anime girls that don't know how to zip up and put bandaids on socks. Does it have multiplayer?

Also in U.S. it hits next tuesday I believe.

edit: Fishing, Golfing, going to high school beating on shadows with teddy bears, its like I never have to go outside.

I actually have a soft spot for fishing games, haha. I played the SHIT out of Legend of the River King GBC back in the day. Like, that game was my life. I would just sit on the couch for hours fishing and boating and trying to make it to the next day. I'm hoping that new fishing game scratches the itch. :p

Charging $40 for a port of a single PS2 game, and having people recommend it over original games doesn't sit well with me.

Capcom sucks so I don't need to justify why you shouldn't buy their Vita "support".

Hey i'm right there with you bud. I love fishing in RL, but hate seafood and am scared of the ocean (thanks Jaws) so I don't get to do it very often. Sega Bass Fishing was one of the Dreamcast games I picked up and loved it.

I just couldn't seperate the joking from the reals. Honestly without the anime girls the game looks pretty good actually. $20 is a good impulse price to jump on for me.

Come on vitabro, you're not thinking this through. It's not a direct dirty port. They added quite a bit new content and had to redub at least one voice. It came out well after PS2 was dying down and PS3 was rising so a lot of people, even hardcore rpger's like myself never got a chance to play it so this was a perfect way to get it into more peoples hands. Also Atlus is a Niche game publisher so any game they put out is a risk to them so don't say they don't care. Crapcom will shit in your hand, charge you to play the DLC corn already hid in it and call it a day so theres no comparison.

If you're talking about the EU, I agree. We're a necessary inconvenience to quote a certain person

I'm inclined to agree. They at least make an effort for some of their big titles (Persona) by working with other localisation companies. Their less popular titles? Nothing - not even a PSN release, which is what I would want at the very least. Especially with XSeeD's and NIS' efforts.

So I downloaded the demo for Sonic Racing transformed today to compare the fps for those interested, it's (basically) the same as in the full game. Full game is ever so slightly better in those levels, it's hardly a big difference and the demo is still representative of the full game.

Those were some of the more smooth maps as well... It's playable but a bit disappointing for people who can easily notice dips basically. I still recommend the game as it's a lot of fun.

Also EDF 2017 portable is my first EDF game and I'm having a blast with it, so much fun that the bugs like wall shooting ai doesn't even put me off. Just a great game with shooting and aliens and stuff.

Normally I'd agree, but when said "PS2 port" is better than most of those original games, I find it hard to not recommend it.

It's not like P4G is the same game as it was on the PS2 either. There was genuine work put into it to make it an even better experience than before, and it's extremely unfair to brush it off as a Capcom level port.

Is Lets Fish supposed to be good? I could use a nice, cheap "pick up and play" type game.

I guess I can see your point but that kind of thing doesnt bother me any. P4G was a new experience for me so dropping 40 on it was nothing. Its also the best game on the Vita, imo, with loads of content that you can easily get your 40 bucks worth.

To add, if P4G never got released on the Vita, I probably wouldnt have ever played it and Id only be half the man I am today!

I don't get it. Have they publicly come out and said that they are no longer developing for Vita or something?

I think you have to go back to late 2011/early 2012 for the last Atlus game announcement not on Nintendo hardware. Probably Persona: Eternal Punishment PSP.

thank you very much for checking this out for us! i didn't expect the framerate to be that good, since the performance on consoles is pretty weak too. i think i may still buy the game, but only when it is on sale.

Oh cool - yeah, my post could EASILY be misconstrued as a complete mockery of the title. I'm super excited about this one, and I hope it's got some of the elements that hooked me on River King so hard.

Yup. Port detractors be damned - if it's a good game, I'm going to recommend it. Persona 4 Golden is fantastic.
