When they are showing games, they should go in reverse order of release date. Starting with stuff releasing in 2014, then progressing to the xmas releases, then the September releases. And then..... BAM!!!!! GT6 (and other release day titles) July 4, 2013!
i dont see GT 6 being at the event.

Now can Sony actually keep the lid on this thing for the final day? They've done a pretty good job of it so far, especially when it comes to the games.

I think it's different this time. This event is unique, can't really be compared to what was done in the past. I see no reason to save so much for E3. They can show a lot of stuff and let people hype this until E3.

They are doing this to get the attention for themselves, the opposite of E3. They wouldn't do this to give just a little briefing on things.

The games industry nowadays, doesn't need to wait for E3 to get media coverage. If they have people's attention right now, might as well use it.

They are still a ways away from launch and this event is to let people see it for the first time. What's different about this is Sony trying very hard to 'make the first move'

Maybe they show more games, but the release date and price aren't going to come out and I don't think we will see much on the game side that's a megaton, major reveal, or exclusive.

Actually, that's cross my mind. I can't stay away from the internet. I don't have the will power for that, so I'm relying on nothing being leaked from a Sony event...

...from a Sony event...

...Sony event... ~_~

I have a bad feeling we're going to get a bunch of talk and maybe 3 long trailers that will be claimed as in-game that we will find out are CG at E3, followed by a 30 second montage of games that are 2 years out.

Does anyone still think Phantom Pain will be shown if Kojima isn't in NYC? He could maybe announce it via teleconference.

Thats assuming Phantom Pain is MGS5 and not TLG lol.

A depressing thought crossed my mind as I brushed my teeth tonight.

If this upcoming generation lasts as long as the last one, we won't be getting new console reveals again until at least 2020 . . . and I'll be 40 years old.

*sigh*

Rejoice, brother. I'm here to tell you the good news that next gen life cycle might be even LONGER than the previous one. So you will be 40+.

I could've sworn I heard somewhere that the length of this gen wouldn't be repeated in the next. Could be wrong though.

I don't consider evolution as a very talented developer. I think they will just stick with their formula. Expect to see another motorstorm.

They don't really have a formula. They once developed sim racers (WRC) and then they started developing an over the top racer (Motorstorm). They also have Studio Liverpool members there now as well as Ged Talbot. So i'd argue that they're very talented and there's no reason for them to stick to any formula.

Have Sony systems ever been leaked before the reveal? I know a slider prototype of the NGP/Vita was, but I'm not sure of anything else.

I'm not counting the PSP Go, either.

From 2001-2005 they made nothing but WRC. 5 of them. From 2006 to 2012 they made total 6 motorstorm games.

They are sticking with their formula. Actually they are sticking with their formula for too long. I hope they have something interesting.

But what's to suggest that they're making another Motorstorm? The rumor about them is that they're working on a new IP with Ged Talbot at the helm.

Well they tend to make nothing but one thing when they find one formula. Granted like you said there is no guarantee that they will make another motor storm. If they hired guy from PGR, then I suspect they will make something similar to that, which I have no objection.

I just don't like motorstorm.

"Quantic Dream, the developer of Heavy Rain and Beyond, is in New York right now. Are they sight seeing or getting ready to announce something during Sony's upcoming press event on the 20?"
so what do you think gafer?

according to your theory, PD, Turn10, Liverpool studio...(almost every studio) they all have their formula

I'm hoping they announce Beyond being a cross-platform launch title for PS4.

If they can bring it back to the first Motorstorm - they might have a chance. They lost that Motorstorm feels with M2 and M3, IMO. First one was the best.
I definitely agree the series has potential. There are a lot of problems with the series that were never addressed.
Rubberband AI and questionable physics and handling.

One more day, guys. :) I'm a little bummed that I can't take it all in as it happens since I get out of work at 10 at night. But hopefully by then GAF won't be a sea of usernames with no avatars or 500 errors. ;)

Guys, not every game can be a launch title. Although perhaps most of the games shown here could be close to launch. After all this thing is called Playstation 2013, which could mean that this is all about stuff that's releasing this year, while E3 explores it more in-depth and teases some stuff releasing in 2014.

...Oh God, I just realized that we're a third of the way through this decade.

Hype is reaching critical levels. Anyone else finding it difficult to work? I have all this work to do by Wednesday, but man... Orbis on the mind.
