We don't have "get out of jail free" cards, but if we did, she'd have one.
It was an accident I swear.

Edit: But seriously, is it a good buy for $3.99?
Yeah, I'd also be interested in hearing a little more about LI.

Undirected sandbox play doesn't really interest me, but I heard this game has an in-game list of objectives/puzzles to figure out akin to Scribblenauts. Is that true?

Yup, the PC port of Pandora Tomorrow apparently has some lighting issues Ubi is unwilling to fix. Or maybe it's a situation similar to Hitman Contracts where they don't want to renew a licensing deal.

Lighting issues probably require a bit more effort than replacing a single song.

From what I remember playing it, yes, it has combos you need to figure out that rewards you in game. Pretty good time waster in my opinion. Has a bit of a story to it to which is always nice. Burning stuff and creating combos helps unlock more brochures which allows you access to bigger more expensive things to burn. For 3.99 I say its worth it.

I'm near the end of Spec Ops and damn is it's story really good. Combat wise it's OK, but the Sniper is the best weapon in the game mainly for blowing people's heads up lol.
It is, even if you liking it for some reaosn hurts people's feelings.

P3 fucking sucks. I like everything about it except the piss poor pacing, and bland ass tartarus with that god damn song on loop that slightly changes with progression.
Seriously if you don't like Persona 3 you have no taste, it's one of the few games I believe to have the perfect design.

Papo & Yo coming to Steam as well ?

Wow nice.

Ehh, I'd say that complaints about Tartarus are valid. That's why I haven't really played past a month of P3 despite loving the ever-loving jebus out of P4.

I have to question your taste if you think p3 is perfect. I would rather slit my own throat than play any more p3. I enjoy the other SMT games much better. I rather go play Nocturne or finish up digital devil saga.

Pretty great. And if you're wondering, it doesn't have native controller support, but with xpadder, it's very simple to have it running almost perfectly.

What...? Chaos Theory worked plug n' play with my 360 controller. No xpadder at all.

I'm having some serious fun with Don't Starve.

I haven't gotten too far yet, I keep experimenting and it gets me killed.

Last night I was curious when I found a Spider Nest and decided to bang on it.

Today I decided to slap a frog which lowered my health, and then a pig, which killed me.

There is a lot of mystery surrounding this game. Like Dark Souls or Terraria, you can just go to the Wiki, but that spoils the fun.

How's Steam's performance in Japan like BTW?

The problem with Steam in Japan is that Japan is still seen as a separate territory. Hence, region blocks everywhere. Ironically, Japanese publishers are worst for region blocks. Bonus points for the website being English-only.

Surprise, surprise a UbiSoft sale in March. This is like the 3rd year in a row now? Might pick up Anno 2070 if they really have got rid of that awful drm.

you are a true bro

:lol at the Pez dispensers though

brofist. LOVED IX.

Funny thing is that everyone at the time was telling me to stay away from IX saying it was rubbish. Never saying why just that it was rubbish. Well the curiosity got the better of me and like I said earlier having only seen FF through the eyes of VII & VIII it was a revelation. That's when then penny dropped and I was 'so what was with all this technological rubbish in the other 2 games?' and I then went and bough Anthology and VI and the rest is history.

Years of table top and paper and pen rpgs has me always hankering for the setting to be fantasy based. Apart from Shadowrun and maybe Star Wars I felt very few rpg's have worked in a future setting.

Anyway back ot. Did IX ever get a pc release? I don't think it did? Haven't seen it mentioned in any of the Steam DB leaks

It was held in May in past years. I hate that it's early this year; Ubi's back catalogue has a ton of crap I'd like to pick up. Oh well, all the more reason to look forward to the Summer Sale.

If you like monotonous design i agreed :)
You three have been added to my list.

ANYONE ELSE WANTS TO SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT PERSONA 3?!?

edit: this is my bad for talking about P3 in a PC thread

uPlay is still there.

Yeah, the Ark relies on Ubi's servers for much of its functionality, and I don't see a developer that couldn't be bothered patching proper wireless controller support into the earlier AssCreed games reworking a core component of a game for offline play.

Anyone with ace of spades care to give their opinion on the game? I know it had problems but did the recent updates and classic mode fix these? The playerbase decent?

Nevermind, seems like they just changed it to a free week for ace of spades!!! Gonna try this bad boy and see how it is now.

I like it. Give both classic mode and the regular modes a shot. Classic mode is more like Red Orchestra and you also find people actually building bases and tunnels to get to the other base. Regular mode people don't really build much, but once our team made a small town to defend against zombie players in zombie mode. Always fun when stuff like that happens.

Anno is tempting. It's been on my wishlist for a long time. But I tend to be more interested in simulation than strategy. I like "city" building games to be more of a zen garden or a sandbox than a boardgame.

So cheapest price I've seen on Anno 2070 so far. $17 isn't too bad. I very rarely play games through to the DLC so not too concerned about that.

Worth?

Haven't you got enough to contend with already :p. I was looking through my purchase history the other day and lots of Ubi titles cropped up in March over the years but I might be going mental (quite possibly) and it might have been May.

uPlay is still there.

Hmmmm well I might be able to contend with it, I've got Ass Creed 1,2,Bro & Rev as well as Pop: FS and SC:C all on there and apart from that one time when I was without an internet connection it hasn't caused me too much grief. Heard some horror stories around Far Cry 3's launch though. Still as long as that stupid hardware activation limit is blasted into space I might have a look-see.

The Deep Ocean expansion is what I'd call essential. Other than that all the DLC is either cosmetic or can be unlocked in the main game.

Much obliged. I plan on having an extremely lazy Saturday morning in a few days and this sounds like it'll be perfect for that.

You can never have too much of a good thing!

They were probably just the usual deals that punctuate the week. 2012's Ubi sale began May 18th and 2011's May 24th.

It's like JaseC said, the uPlay functionality is integrated into the metagame. You are running your ark's systems (responding to messages, voting for factions, choosing missions) through uPlay.

Edit: As an aside, I've haven't had any server issues with uPlay yet, unlike SimCity.

Hold on. Am I reading this right? Anno 2070 Complete contains 11 items and is £19.94 or 34% off where as the base game is £10.19 or 66% off and the complete dlc pack which contains 9 items is £4.79 or 60% off. Looking at it the only thing missing is Deep Ocean which on it's own is £7.99 or 60% off. Is it really worth getting the complete package or should I just mix and match? After being screwed over by Civ V with dlc and then bundles I'm a bit wary of fluff dlc.

Yeah Uplay has been fine for me (updates a lot though) but when I moved last year I could see how people could have problems but since then I've had a constant internet connection.

The essentials are Anno 2070 and Deep Ocean.

Deep Ocean is one of those expansions that adds a decent amount if you're a 'hardcore' player, but you won't really notice if you haven't already played the base game extensively as its additions focus on end-game content. I'd suggest you buy the base game and the 'complete' DLC [though most are mediocre additional missions and cosmetics so arguably you should skip that too] and, if you enjoy the game, purchase Deep Ocean during the next sale.

Cheers for the input guys. I might just grab the base game seeing as I'm looking over at my shelf and can see 1404 sat there untouched. Bit skint until April and despite finding both boring if Ass Creed III and Far Cry 3 crop up the magpie in me with probably pick them up if there @ 50% off or less.

Huh. Well there you go. I surely must own pretty much everything by Ubi by now? I'm half tempted to go through my Steam library and work out how long it would take to at least finish every game I've bought so far. Well I don't play them so might as well make some use out of my purchases.

Nah, Sudeki had a PC release in 2005. Looks like Microsoft just want to release their old catalogs of PC games on Steam. (And some new ones too for that matter)
So they'll release Midtown Madness 1 & 2 on Steam? And port MM3? And add Steamworks to them, with matchmaking and achievements and all of that? And a free HD texture pack? That's awesome.

Dreaming is free, right?

Glad to help. Debating between picking up AC3 and FC3 if they go on sale myself. I should probably buy BioShock Infinite though.
