On the panel after the reveal... They started talking about the whole "cloud computing" thing and how it's supposed to supplement whatever XO already does...

How much would that affect games? Is it gonna increase raw performance or something?

The new Kinect reading peoples faces to determine heart beats is damn impressive, but will it work with people that have a dark complexion?

Damn that's fucked up. He even asked to reach out to me to say he never meant any harm.
didn't know he was being spoon fed bullshit. Wish he let one of the mods know what was going on at the time. He was warned though

Glad to see that MS did away with the PrimeSense imaging tech and went with their own solution for Kinect...which incidentally, I called that this was going to happen.

EA said the same thing about Simcity, and that turned out to be a load of baloney.

Xbox One you sign in to; stable, dedicated servers for every multiplayer game rather than the notoriously fragile practice of hosting matches on one participant’s console; even multiplayer matches that can grow to 64, even 128 participants, rather than the usual limit of 16 or 32.

It didn't improve performance in Diablo 3. All it introduced was lag while I was playing single player. Serious.

Saw this too. Wasn't sure if it was speculation though. Would certainly be nice.

If that is a true requirement, that might be a big deal. It actually might force Sony into a Cloud arms race, where honestly Sony is at a disadvantage compared to MSFT.

Yay. Dedicated DRM authentication servers. Maybe they will offload some AI to them also for no other reason than forcing an online connection (DRM) like Sim City.

I'm going to hook up a PS4 through the HDMI passthrough.

Good idea. That way you can have ads from Microsoft overlaying your PS4 gaming.

I'm really interested with the RAM situation. It looks like they increased the bandwidth for the eDRAM cache.

thats wrong, I hope atleast that gaf member gets permed too. Reiko made some bad threads but to egg it on or PM false info is just as bad.

5gigs has been confirmed for games so what happened to the extra 3? *jeopardy music cues in*

Would you honestly mind if online continued to be free? Would playing 16-32 people be a big deal for you vs 128 people...? I've never seen the draw to be honest (of having that many people)

Reading heartbeats with recorded video is pretty easy. It may not be very visible to the human eye, but it's readily apparent with simple image processing.

less procesing power is arguably already out since killzone sf slides showed 6 cores just like durango rumor, and i believe ps4 will also reserve 3gb/and or the reserves will end up similar in the end (durango has a gb in limbo according to interference etc)

3 GB for Linux? Sounds pretty bloated to me. Max I could see would be 2....

Play BF3 on a PC then play it on a 360. Then decide if you feel a difference.

Plus it opens up the console to more "MMO-esque" opportunities of persistent or cloned gaming worlds online.

Sorry, don't feel sorry for Reiko. He did his wink wink nudge nudge shit for months. He brought it on himself regardless of false info or not.

Don't do this to yourself.

As speculated, X86 confirmed. From xbox.com:

"An 8-core x86 processor lets you instantly switch between a game and your entertainment apps with ease."

"Xbox One is the perfect balance of power and performance. In addition to Xbox One’s revolutionary architecture, the combination of its CPU, GPU and ESRAM is like having a supercomputer in your living room. But raw power is nothing without speed. So the Xbox One uses its power more effectively, creating lightning fast experiences unlike anything you’ve had before."

Wrong, just simply wrong.

Nope he is close to the truth.

As close as you were?

Piecing little bits and pieces that I heard,

Orbis:

Customized Kaveri APU with > 1 teraflop
2-4GB of DDR4

Audio DSP

Customized Sea Island discrete GPU 2-3 teraflops
1-2GB GDDR5

ARM + PowerVr SOC (Apps and OS only)
2GB LDDR3

The Arm SOC allows for easy porting of both Vita and mobile games.

Be lucky you were one of those "insiders" that didn't get perm'd.
