Space Battleship Yamato 2199 Episode 16

Bugs are always creepy and even worst Beemealian bugs are even worst. The whole scouting on the planet was a good break from the action, I wouldn't mind if there is anymore. They could have given us the history of the planet and what not. I also just realize that there are Earth people, Gamillians, and Iscandarians, I always thought Gamillians and Iscandarians were the same :/

Yamamoto was epic there, she made me laugh, and Daisuke Shima too. So glad that plot is over, wasnt feeling it at first as it felt pretty standard and dull, but when all the reveals came, I was cheering and glad.

But it wasn't even really a hot springs episode! Total disappoint.

Also Origami's Sergent > her.

The actual (incredibly brief) hot springs sequence at the end of this episode was totally the best part, though, if only because
Shidou was just bathing together with the girls as if this was completely normal
. I can't think of many harem leads who would have the balls to do that, and even less whose harem would actually let them get away with it.

Hell, even in Katanagatari when
Shichika and Togame get nekkid (my autocorrect just tried to change this to nekketsu, I don't know what's got into it lately) together
, at least one of them is always painfully aware of the inherent awkwardness of the situation, even if she tries to act like it doesn't bug her. In this show, everyone is just totally cool with it.

I'm sorry, haha. I distinctly remember trailing off while watching these. I wasn't following what was happening and just going with the flow. You've got quite a few questionable AO's ahead of you, but the start of season 9 is amazing with a boat load of plot, the awesome Megure's Sealed Secret episodes, and a 2 hour Kaito Kid special. Keep on trucking! Haha.

Yeah, the knowledge that some great cases are coming up is keeping my spirits up, although it makes sitting through an episode like that more frustrating. Sometimes I see the preview being about 'the Detective Boys look at receipts' and know in advance that the episode will probably be shit, but I had no warning for this. At least I'll never have to watch these episodes again.

welp, don't think I can say anything without it being a big spoiler except that this just got a lot more interesting.

excellent episode.

I don't think any of the tracks are memorable or original, but the score fits the material (most of the time) and manages to keep the concept somewhat dramatic. Were it not there I would probably be laughing at the stupidity on the screen.

Only seen the first five episodes but the only track I would consider above "good" would be the one that played in ep 3 and 5 during the parts where the first dropouts leave and the titan lesson. This score aint no AnE that for sure. He better not fuck up X compared to Xenoblade music.

We all know you are gonna hate it anyway.

I hope whatever happens it doesn't tarnish my nostalgic memories of the original. I am decidedly not a member of PrecureGAF and my overall enjoyment of mahou shoujo has diminished over the years, but I hope the new Sailor Moon transcends that.

There's a beautifully elegant way to prevent this.

Watch the show again. Turn those nostalgic memories into current impressions. You'll probably appreciate it differently too.

I can say, watching it now, that the original show is definitely not just nostalgia.
in b4 SuperS makes me hate the franchise

While I was
pretty depressed at what transpired, they managed to cheer me up a little by hitting me with the coolest tie-in ever.
I can't believe I didn't put the two and two together, with all the talk of
normal girls and hard work and guts!

Truly a fantastic work, I just wished
my heart wouldn't have been put through such abuse. :(

That last scene was just fantastic, such a mark out moment.

Posting this cause I haven't actually legit posted an impression in ages and I just finished this recently so whatever.

Mondaiji-tachi 1-10

So imagine Kirito, except instead of being a whiny waifu magnet with a bland personality that nobody likes and is perfect in every way, he is incredibly awesome as well as perfect in every way. You basically get this guy

That aside, it's rare for me to watch a show and like every main character almost instantly, but that's what happened here. I mentioned Izayoi specifically above, but I actually like him, Asuka, and You more or less equally. Story was kinda all over the place and the pacing was pretty rushed (why was this only 10 episodes again?) but I liked the action and animation and it was actually pretty funny too a lot of the time. Most of all though, the three leads carried this show and then some. I totally see myself cursing all that exists two years from now when there's still no S2 in sight.

Yeah I quite enjoyed this show, even though I forgot to keep up with it and have about 3 more to watch. Did it end well? Because I doubt we'll see a second season with the sales it had :(

KuroUsagi is one of the sexiest ladies in recent times.

I'm really amazed at the balls Madhouse has with this arc. The human dog scene was kept as-is, and actually made even more disturbing.

Also, I think this may be the most consistently well-animated long running show out there. Such a far cry from the other long running shounen.

Madhouse definitely isn't dead, all their talent is just being put on a show that won't end for at least another 50 episodes.

So I guess the end of Code Geass R2 actually killed CorvoSol?

Not necessarily. He's been pretty consistent about cycling between different shows instead of watching a multiple eps of one in a row. More likely he's just watching his next ZZ Gundam episode or something.

I genuinely have no idea why Hummingbird recommended this to me. It's not terrible or anything, but :firehawk with a moeblob android isn't exactly something that immediately springs to mind as something my favourite shows would recommend.

I guess it's fine? It's entirely predictable and not particularly "entertaining" - it's not bad, I just didn't really get any enjoyment out of it.

I wouldn't listen to a hummingbirds recommendation. What does it know of anime?

Clearly very little. Having updated my recommendations, it's just told me to watch Fate/Zero (which I dropped after two episodes) and Steins;Gate (which I dropped at episode 6 or so).

I guess I still have Jarinko Chie and Yakumo Tatsu to watch from the first recommendations it gave me...

I'm looking at my recommendations and it's telling me to watch that too, LOL.

Of course it's also telling me to watch Macross, Noein, Psycho Pass, and On Your Mark(even though I've seen that).

Journal - Day 3
I have come to the conclusion that Night Raid, year of our Lord one thousand, nine hundred and thirty-one can be qualitatively described as "so bad." Further research is needed.

My policy is simply to ignore the recommendations entirely. When two of the shows that Hummingbird recommended to me were Wedding Peach DX and Henneko, that was a very large red flag that whatever system the site is using to generate recommendations doesn't actually understand what I like at all.

Yo. What happened to you lot adding quote submissions for The Laws of Eternity on Hummingbird?

Unresolvable technical difficulties in simul-watching said show happened. I'm probably just going to go through it on my own soon.

I've rarely been impressed with automated recommendations on anything other than Amazon, although in all fairness it's clear that Amazon has a fair number of extremely intelligent people working on that kind of thing.

Incidentally, did Hummingbird 'know' that you'd dropped those two shows and still recommend them to you regardless? That would seem to be extremely odd.

My recommendations are filled with specials and shorts, and even some recaps. There's nothing I'd even consider watching, other than this Pale Cocoon.

The recommendations was something that attracted me to porting over my MAL list. I've seen so much anime that I'm always on the look out for an offbeat recommendation that might appeal, but I guess it's too much to ask of an automated system to come up with something sensible.

The OP was the opening salvo.

I loved it BECAUSE it wasnt a typical hot springs episode. Had it been I would have been bored with it.

Best bunnygirl of the forever. I debated between the blue hair and pink hair figurine so much I missed the initial chance to preorder her. Luckily I settled on the pink one and locked down a reserve.

Its called a harem show. They are pretty common.. Its supposed to entertain while making you think as little as possible.

Orgel was adorable but a little strange. Naturally I had to give it a watch after seeing the little tomato gif.

Dispute mediation in this world appears to work much the same way as it does in the Yakuza games.

The level and amount of animation continues to be much higher than I'm used to in TV anime, and in a much more realistic style too. It feels akin to what would happen if Okiura directed a TV show. It gives the characters a lot of personality and invests their interactions with a degree of energy. Why is this not on the sakuga wiki's recommended sakuga list?

The excellence of the animation does have a downside, in how it contributes to the overall spastic feeling of the direction. It's carrying on several plot threads and developing a fairly extensive cast, and intercuts between them frequently. I wish it would be a little calmer and linger on scenes a bit longer so I would have more time to absorb what's going on. While I like some of the interactions, particularly between Shinkuro and Murasaki, they lack the memorable impact I'd like them to have.

I would say Hummingbird knows me quite well(as well as knowing what I forgot to put on my list somehow like Time of Eve and Baccano (which Im pretty sure was on my MAL list). Its mostly specials and movies of shows I have watched or relevant ones.
MadP I think yours was considering that you watched a shitload of mediocre mahou shoujo like Max Heart, so it recommended you another mediocre mahou shoujo. Cant fault it for tryin!

The show does slow down after the first couple of episodes, from what I remember.

I don't know why it wouldn't be on a sakuga list.

Aniplex Adds GYO: Tokyo Fish Attack, Outlines Blast of Tempest DVDs

Aniplex of America announced at its A-Kon panel on Sunday that it will release the GYO: Tokyo Fish Attack anime adaptation of Junji Ito's Gyo horror manga on English-subtitled DVD on July 9. The film and manga center around mutant fish with metal legs that emerge from the sea to attack Japan. Amidst the carnage, Kaori embarks on a desperate quest to find her missing boyfriend before he is lost to the mayhem that is sweeping the land.

Pre-orders for the DVD release will begin from retailers on Monday. The DVD will retail for US$37.98, discounted to US$29.98. The anime debuted last year with animation by ufotable (Fate/Zero, The Garden of Sinners), and Viz Media published the original manga by Ito (Tomie, Uzumaki) in North America.

Aniplex of America also outlined its English-subtitled DVD plans for the Blast of Tempest anime. It will release the anime series in two complete season DVD sets on August 13, 2013 and January 21, 2014. Each set will include 12 episodes on three DVDs. The first set's bonuses include clean opening and ending animation sequences, a 16-page deluxe booklet, and a exclusive reversible mini-poster.

Pre-orders for the first set will begin on Monday. Each set will retail for US$74.98, discounted to US$59.98.

Poor Blasty, couldn't even get an expensive BD release.

Yeah their recommendation algorhythm needs work.
There is a haven't seen and haven't finished option on their recommendations though which does what you would expect.
