I'd be in the dick
When I say "fuck this up", I mean the launch of the PS4 in general, rather than just their presser. So far, the only game announced for the system that I want to play is inFamous, since I love those games. I don't - can't - buy a console to play only one game, so if they screw up E3, the chances of there being games to draw my attention to the PS4 are very, very slim.

So I'm really hoping Square has something to show that'll keep me interested, because so far an endless horde of Western "experience" games isn't really doing much to hype me up. I would also probably be psyched if one of Sony's internal developers announced an RPG, but it doesn't sound like the timing is quite right for that to happen.

Sorry if I'm being a downer, guys. I don't mean to be. I just don't want anyone to get as hyped as I did the last three times Versus was being "hinted" at showing up at a conference and then we got Lightning garbage instead. In an ideal world, my skepticism will prove wrong and we'll all be happy tomorrow night. :)

Just because they may not have a slew of RPGs for launch doesn't mean that they're fucking up. So the console may not be for you on day 1, big deal. Wait until the games you want are out and keep that $500 in your pocket.

Sony isn't going to blow their load. They have a ton of stuff to show I bet. It is going to be an awesome week. Also this will be the first of their stuff with the new PR firm as someone above indicated? That seems to bode well as they are on point and have been for awhile.

Slowly getting more and more excited for destiny.

Yes, Yes, give in to the hype!

I'm really surprised by Sony this year, we are already at 24 hours of the conference and they didn't release the trailers for their games before it. I really hated their last two or three years tactics, in which by this time we would have already seen at least in trailer form the vast majority of the games that they would show on the conference. In the PS4 case, they will have a lot of ammo for tomorrow's conference, and our expectations are at an all time high. They only bad thing is the DRM problem, since i'm more interested in seeing their stance with that, than in seeing the new games.

Destiny, I will admit seemed to start out at a very very low burn for me. I am not STOKED but I have followed those guys since pretty much their first games and almost all of them I have loved. So my fingers are crossed when it comes to Destiny in particular.

waypoetic is a member on GAF and that is his username on the PS4 OS. Any correlation?

I remember this was posted on a thread about next gen consoles UI mockups/discussion. If I remember correctly, it is in fact just a mockup created by someone regarding their vision of the ps4 UI.

I've been pretending that Versus didn't exist for the past few years now since I didn't want to be disappointed if it wasn't released at some point. But now that it's being hinted at for this conference...I can't help but to get some of that hype that others are passing around.

I hope it will be worth it!

True enough. I waited almost an entire year to buy my 3DS. In retrospect, it ended up being a really good idea, since all the major games started coming out right around the same time I picked it up. If I had bought it at launch, I probably would've gotten frustrated during the summer drought and traded it in.

Here's hoping the PS4 starts at closer to $350 or $400 than $500 though. A $350 launch price might override my pessimism and get a purchase at day one even if they don't have a major launch RPG.
