I like that the guy is so open, at least to the extent he is allowed to be. So it's likely some kind of base engine that's not really anything for any specific platform?

I'm currently playing through RDR, I finished Infamous 2 earlier this year. Those games look fantastic for what they are, but they have pop-in, jaggies, low res everything everywhere and NPC models are detail-less. Same as the gameplay portions of the GTAV trailer. You can't milk blood from a stone.
I didn't say it looked good or even on par for next-gen.

On the topic of The Division, I just noticed that the character doesn't react in any way to the flying debris kicked up by the multiple bullet impacts just inches away from his face.
I mean, it looks awesome, but it's really noticeable in slow motion.
Anyways, let's hope The Division doesn't see a similar downgrade.

Well, to clarify, it just seems odd that they include such minor predefined animations as "sliding your hand along the car to shut the door" but didn't include a predefined animation for "reflexively protecting your head in the face of withering gunfire."

I don't care if you disagree, if you can't say it without getting riled up its sad for you. If next-gen wasn't on the horizon and this was a purely current-gen game the reaction to the trailer would be a lot different. No shit. Next-gen is overshadowing everything current-gen at the moment and thats where anyone is going to draw comparisons and expectations from.
I can assure you I have two eyesballs and like others in this thread I see stuff that I wouldn't believe in a current-gen open-world title based on my experience.
I read his response as its rendered from the (PC) engine with some settings turned off in a way thats not wholly going to be like any version of the game.
Looking at the gif I agree it does look really odd that his not reacting to the debree or the bullets flying just above his head. Typical cover mechanic with close door animation. The more realistic a game strives to be the more apparent the flaws are.
I expect the trailer to be uploaded again tomorrow (PC version, highest settings). This was probably PC footage but with botched render settings.

I might end up picking Watch Dogs during a Steam sale but right now I just don't see what all the hype is about. I see this ending up like the first AC game. Looked really cool in trailers and a few cool mechanics but then you had this big open world with hardly anything to do.
I'm a diehard fan and I disagree. Her commentary is so forced and useless. But yeah the new guests are worse.

This trailer is so strange. I've got HQ 60 fps version (can't release it yet though), and the quality is all over the place. You've got some 60 fps scenes, some 30 fps with frame drops, some 30 fps with blended frames, and even some 60 fps with blending, like it was a bad deinterlace:

Don't see it as anymore forced than Drew's was in many instances. Unless of course, you're a bigger fan of the british version, in which case I can completely see why you would consider her commentary useless.
I honestly think the contrast or perception of being useless banter is coming from her, being a her and making those jokes and commentary, (the same types of jokes and commentary that Drew had been doing).
But oh well, agree to disagree.
