I guess licensing wasn't an issue when they published screens like this?

I'll stop with the Family guy references, I just never found something so fitting.

And MS had a live UI running at E3 in June. Doesn't mean that it was feature complete. That's not true, we've seen a lot of the UI running on the console.
Looking at what Bish said before in the other thread, this news may not be the ass storm at all.
Achievements/Friends/etc should get their own tab. From looking at this screen these feature come off as unimportant to stuff such as music and movies.I guess licensing wasn't an issue when they published screens like this?

Oh god, my sides :lolRest assured, Xbox One will be an excellent representation of a real console.
& still no credible sources. My goodness... how could Microsoft have screwed up this bad? It's as if they've never made a console before!
I dunno, I watched fansubed release of 1st season. Its fantastic, tokusatsu show for older watchers, violence, nudity, and really really big focus on awesome live action combat [less CGI fights].
Like I said earlier in another thread, there's been contexual proof of some of the rumors. Not in an official statement from MS or Sony (why would they?), but in other developments that are logically deducible to particular rumors. So not wanting to believe rumors with no real proof is giving junior members a bad rap?

Where's he at now anyway? Miss that fellow....
Links? Besides the kid video.
It's a good question, but at least we have seen people messing around with the UI before and not just going into Ryse on that one leaked vid from Sept.
Sony really needs to show their UI in a professional walkthrough though.
Its not that simple. The deals can be in place, but they can't just go film a demo on a flip phone.
The bigger issue is that they just weren't prepared for this. But I have no issue w/ Pennello saying he can't just film one and throw it up right quick.
Dude, I normally bristle at the way Penello gets kicked around here, but that answer is laughable.
If the answer is "this was the real UI, we just trimmed out the parts that show the bits still under construction," say that.
If the answer is "there are the sort of small, annoying bugs visible in the current build that are on schedule to be addressed leading up to the launch," say that.
If the answer is "press release materials are further from the actual development environment than you assume, so there's a big delay from what we're working with now," say that.
If the answer is "We've got some newly introduced issues with the way the different elements interact in our test environment," just say nothing and don't bullshit us.
Where's he at now anyway? Miss that fellow....
You mind giving me a link on that?
It is not just the shaved head, but the earrings that complete the look.Wish I could pull off the bald look but I don't think my head is ready.
So I'm assuming that this video released by Microsoft of the dashboard is basically a bullshot?

& still no credible sources.
That was staged though and probably had nothing to do with the actual UI.And MS had a live UI running at E3 in June. Doesn't mean that it was feature complete.
& still no credible sources.
He's not saying they don't have anything but that representation. He's saying they can't show anything because of "licensing issues".
Yeah, yeah, it's BS, but they obviously have some stuff working internally. Not to the point where a video with a cohesive experience can be released, of course.

Pretty much. Penello admitted as such.
Just curious - are you concerned that the kid video could have been doctored in some way?
Not to mention licensing involves both companies legal departments and contracts. Its not as simple as flipping a fucking switch like most of you would want to believe.
At this point I'm thinking a delay is even possible. Launch is in three weeks and they can't show the UI??
Penello seems unconcerned, but I'm not sure the tweets make much sense, since we know the Titanfall footage is stock:

Most of the posts on here regarding the tweet completely proves that virtually NOBODY in this thread works in a company as large as Microsoft.
Microsoft has contracts that they are RESPONSIBLE by LAW to uphold 100%. Maybe one of their agreements with their advert companies is NOT to blur their content out for demos, it would not be the first time that has happened.

That was in response to the Sessler and friends dramaHe posted that yesterday though. Back then we were still on resolutiongate right?
I don't know, I'm getting lost amongst all the crap getting thrown around in this ass storm.
Yeah what alr1ght said, that was in response to Sessler's something.

Hey guys. People should understand why these videos get made. It's a simple matter of logistics. The current dash has a lot of Beta-specific tiles in it. The stores are live and we don't have approvals to use those outside materials in marketing. Lastly, they need to use these in a variety of sources that a direct-feed output would not work for.
True story: My wife is working with the team that put these together. As they were getting made, we would compare them to my Beta at home and give feedback.
This video is an EXCELLENT representation of the dash, the features, and the speed. I have no problem showing it to people and saying it's "real". Any differences between this video and the dash are super minor.
I'm catching up online this AM and people seriously need to relax. I know all the drama and intrigue are fun to read about, but the reality is far more mundane.
If you like what that video shows, you're going to love the real product.
ASK TITANFALL
There's at least 3 gaf mod sanctioned sources.
Just like removing DRM amirite?
Not at all...but all it showed was him going back and forth between the tiles and then clicking on Ryse. At least with the PS4 UI vids, they go into the menus more (not as much as I would like, but more).
