Forza 5 Showroom | New cars and details for Forza 5, ongoing reveals

Think of all the money Forza has saved you by being awesome and taking away the need for other games.

Might have saved you hundreds, thousands even!.

But you moan about optional DLC.

I think age might have something to do with the diminishing interest/patience/reflexes/skill in other games.lol

As regards moaning about optional DLC.

I haven't a problem with paid DLC if it's at the right price point, gives a boost to the game's longevity/interest, and is released at the right time.

I thought FM4's DLC was reasonably priced, had a fantastic variety of cars, but there weren't the environments in game to fully exploit the cars characteristics. I mean, a Lincoln Continental in a circuit racing game? Group B rally cars and no rally tracks, asphalt or otherwise e.t.c

The price bump, and the sheer hubris at the timing of the DLC alongside the Day One patch is the straw that breaks this particular Camel's back. I'm sure others will see it differently, but that's my perspective.

What's that really trite saying? 'I've got to stand for something, or I'll fall for anything'

It's not about the pounds and pence, but the principle.

OK, a simple question: is there anyone here who thinks that paywalled DLC that brazenly launches on the very same day as a full-priced game, featuring content that could have been included at no extra charge with the main game (due to a pre-existing mandatory content patch) is good for gamers?

Personally I think it's a massive fuck-you to gamers, but I would genuinely love to hear from you and listen to your reasoning.

All I can say about the DLC is, I hope there's an extra game mode, or I'll just wait for it to go on sale or ask for a gift card for Christmas.

How's everyone's reward tier going? I just checked and I'm at level 4, so I get the Fiesta ST, the Audi, the F12, and 70K credits. I don't think I'll have time to get the McLaren P1, though.

I need to work on mine. I think I'm level 3. I'm more of a Sim fan and haven't played much Horizon.

I'm just a few hundred points from Tier 5. The game I can get most points in now is Horizon as I'm not as maxed out as I am in regular Forza games. But I can't be bothered.

I get the P1 for buying the LCE anyway.

I don't know. 'suppose tomorrow everyone can take a good look at the whole list of cars and tracks and evaluate whether they've included enough content to call F5 a full game.

Wasn't aware the Ferrari was in/out/removed or whatever until yesterday, hadn't given it a second thought. There's already more than enough twitchy super/hypercars in these games.

I guess it comes down to how much people value the content, personally a brilliantly modelled car or laser scanned circuit just seems to be worth more.

Mascot, you just don't understand...

Mate, it's a lot like love. You can't explain it. You would do anything, reasonable or otherwise, for love. Love makes you do stupid things sometimes because love is love.
In the end, love conquers all.
Love..
So yeah, love and DLC is sort of the same thing if you think about it...

since we are talking "rewards" now, here's another thing that just striked me...
Below is my "rewards" card. Full level 5 honorary etc.
So, lets look at forza 4. it say its missing 302pts for full marks.

302 points missing seems a lot for how long I've played.
but if I remember correct, I still miss some achievements i thought it was a drag to get.
lets see the achievement list:
jLBUMaT6ucVyl.jpg

yeap, definitely right!! a full 255 achievement point are missing right there. so it makes sense.. right?

well, WRONG!

on to forza 4 reward card:
jbk0w4KCNlAx4m.jpg

out of the 302 points that T10 thinks I'm missing, only 2 points count toward the longest and most difficult achievements (that count for 255 achievement points),
while the rest whooping 300 "reward points" is missing because of what?

Oh I see... i need to ...buy more ...tokens?
hehe, really? bodes well for f5, that has 1000 points more than forza 4 with all dlc and porsche pack combined...

no more comments for now..

I saw that (on the "to-do" list card) and immediately cringed. *That* sort of assumption about what's important to have done in these games borders on insulting to me. I understand the business-side where they do have a section of their audience that they want to make a point to recognize this sort of purchase from; sort of a head-nod or special thank-you to.

Here's the problem: I'm not that part of that sub-set of the audience. I'm merely the part of the audience who's bought every game in this series, and bought a good amount of the expansion DLC through. And I find it distasteful enough that it influences how I feel about the franchise, which in effectively every other way, I enjoy. I hope someone; either development-side or brand management side is reading this: If your expectations for how I play this game take this form; if you believe "enthusiast" means spending money to *avoid* playing the game you've sold me? That tells me you believe the game isn't worth the time to play and progress in it. I enjoy this hobby, and there's no shortage of things I might want to do with my time. With my work schedule, that time is at a premium, and things like this (in the long term) will absolutely effect how I use it.

Yeah I just laugh at the empty spot for tokens. I don't mind that kind of stuff tho...

looking at my own rewards kinda makes me want to fill out some more achievements though... can't believe I never ran each track??? Must be some mini reverse shits that I never drove.

It's amazing how many minor/reverse versions of the tracks there are when you actually look at the list. I've been playing FM4 for two years and there's still a few I'm likely never to have loaded.

A loving relationship should not be confused with an abusive one.

Some FM5 MRT Fiesta SITTING IN PRAGUE you mean !

Prague resurfaces. Man, i never thought i'd be happy to see it again.

Lighting looks different, or maybe the tv is just washed out, Either way looks less bright and colourful and lighting looks much more realistic than before.

Yeah, it seemed more realistic to me too...

I always say Polyphony is the king of trailers but that seriously kicked major ass. Definitely makes me want to grab an xbone now. This will be the 6th time I buy a forza game on launch.

Turn 10. Take a fucking bow for one of, if not the best racing game trailer ever seen!

Nick, Adam, David, Chase and the rest of the audio team. You beautiful sons of beeches!

Nah, this is still unbeaten IMO.

BTW, I think we pretty much know all the tracks judging by the trailer. No sign of Hockhenheimring or Infineon which sucks, those probably needed a lot less work than others to make the next-gen jump.

In that EVO articles, it mentions Petit LM guys practicing at Road Atlanta in the game before hitting the real thing so that should be in..

its not about brand or loyalty. only an interesting observation.

Jaw is on the floor.

That sound is pure magic to my ears.
yeap, and also you got your 16 online confirmation.

I'm only waiting for T10 to shoot down the glimmer of hope that Evo gave us in regards to 24player online and current F1 cars. It's too good to be true in this whole wave of sourness that has swept over FM5 recently.
so what gives with evo mag anf their "ring" info?
24 players is wrong, but we saw the f1 car....
