BF4 running via remote play

Might be best to get a grip accessory for this game if you don't want to destroy your vita :)

I recommend Hori or any of them (really, I tried most).

Can I do this with my 3DS as well?

Doubt it.

Sony designed the PS4 with this feature in mind, to the point where the devs need to do almost nothing to get it to work (everything is done on the hardware side from what I understand).

I'm know I'm going to love and use this a lot like I do with my Wii U, but man I have a bad feeling I will get destroyed online if I use a Vita. Using those Vita sticks seems like a big disadvantage over someone using a regular controller. I'm pretty used to the sticks though and usually do really well in Killzone Mercenaries so maybe it won't be as bad as I'm thinking it will be.

Need side-by-side play-by-play comparison mode for me to care. PSP's remote play was AWFUL. I have no hopes of them fixing it for this outing.

Does remote play support 60fps?
Great question

All games are encoded for RP at 60fps regardless of what framerate they run at.

Do you think there will be lag when connected to ny home network rather than to the ps4 directly?

Shouldn't be anything noticeable.

We've already seen some examples showing between 1-2 frames delay and the comments from those that used it said it looked great and played great.

Are we really going to get a thread for every single PS4 game that works with remote play? Just write a list of every single PS4 game and cross those off that are dependant on the camera and the MOVE ... It would save such a lot of time.

If it makes you feel any better, imagine telling everyone you're playing from a vita after dominating a game (assuming that happens)

I thought not all games were supporting remote play for some odd reason tho?

This is true, so far there have only been a few that do not support it. Most everything else does. the worst offender is Lego City

wtf.

Well this time they have worked remote play into the actual hardware.

Yeah this is evolutionary stuff, find a good wifi connection where you are and your PS4 is at your fingertips. My only question is can I access any game in my library (even if disc based?) or only digital games stored on the HD?

Welp, guess I'm getting a Vita for bathroom breaks. Hopefully I can snag one early next year before the OLED models are gone.

Keep an eye on the Buy/Sell/Trade thread in the GAF community section. I just got a OLED for $180 with a 32 gb memory card.

neat but... playing a ps4 mp shooter on vita... thats like playing mp shooter on pc using a controller...

gonna get your bum stomped.

What? You'd lose pretty bad, I imagine, playing PC MP with a controller, but PS4 RP to Vita shouldn't be that much of a difference other than getting used to the sticks and the slight lag, if any.

Just like not every game supporting off TV play on Wii U.

I hope this does work out like a nextgen Wii U. Sure, it's taking a massive controls hit in comparison to the Wii U pad (Vita sticks are fucking awful, less buttons) but in return you get a huge library of games to play with it.

Afaik this for any game..that doesn't use the camera or move or something. Being physical copy or digital makes no difference

If I'm wrong someone please feel to correct me

You can access what can access the PS4, it's the PS4 in your hand... VITA is some portable TV with buttons and PS4 feeds it.

And it's beautiful because DAT OLED SCREEN and all. And come to think of it, VITA is maybe better than most TVs (input lag, IQ and all), maybe PS4 is arguably best enjoyed via VITA.

You are correct.

The only issue of course is that if you are mid shit and decide you want to play Diablo and the disk isn't in.

The best part is that you can play the game on the PS4, pause, turn on RP on your Vita and unpause and carry on. It's just there.

There's no way it work that well... can it?! I refuse to believe the hype until I have a chance to try that out at home... 100ms is more than enough lag to get destroyed online.

Aibo add on to retrieve your disc and put it in the console...?

I'm thinking it can only run the games in the PS4. Which is part of the reason I'll be going digital for some games.

Most video comparisons show 1-2 frames of lag, so about 33-66ms of lag.

people, if you want to buy a Vita buy it before they discontinue the OLED models.

I just imported a Vita 2K and its still fucking gorgeous. Is it quite as good as an OLED? Maybe not, but it is still crisp as fuck. YouTube clips do it a disservice imo.

Also lime/white shell is sexy as, and battery life puts the OLED model to shame

Tried this weekend with SotC and I was surprised by how well it works. The lag is noticiable, but not anywhere near 100 ms, it's trully awesome.
