You know, as it weird as it sounds, I've got this attachment to my cars that I've never had anywhere else before. It seems like the cars are alive somehow. Strange I know.
If it feels this good with a controller, I can only imagine what a wheel would feel like.

They are working on fixing the fm.net site. Helios and Jube were here last night telling us. I would imagine that it would be just like fm4 when its up and running. I'd give it a day or two before you check the site. On that note, I find it strange that they didn't have SkyDrive integration like the video clips you can upload there. The connection seems to be at the OS level. But I'm sure with all launch items everything was probably down to the wire.
Back to waiting by the door watching gameclips on SmartGlass hoping the Xbox one shows up today.

The rain might look good, but the wipers were animated so badly it ruined the illusion for me.
There's no inertia what so ever. Here are three very different real life wipers for comparison. All of them have to stop and accelerate when changing direction because physics.
Almost all (or simply all) racing games with wipers seem to do the same where wipers have a constant speed and no inertia, but the slow speed made it extra noticeable in PGR 4. Dunno if it's too many animation steps or just low priority. I'm hoping this is what the Forza team is incubating

As a little boy I was obsessed with wipers so it just really stuck out that something was wrong in PGR4
Kinda wish I didn't because the rain drops on the glass and metal look really good.

I'm very curious about this as well. I'm still sitting here with my XB1 in it's Amazon box next to me at work, and I'm not sure if I'm going to pick up the Forza disc on my way home, or download it. The wait for that download seems like it would be insufferably long, even with my decent internet speeds.

Wow it's good. It's really good. With the assists off it really is a very tough game - so much going on between the car and the road. And those triggers are superb - with assists off they give you so much information.
Lots of great details I've found so far such as a HUD setting that keeps the screen clean and brings up the times and laps occasionally. Or the head tracking - which works very well.

2) How many cars can the tokens included with the limited edition get you?
3) Do they sell the XP doubling feature as DLC? I hate to admit it, but if it were cheap I might buy it.

Long time forza fan here, and I have these few questions for you guys.
1. Can you still lock the wheels while braking in a straight line at 180mph?
2. Is the AI not inbred this time around? Or is it still making a big pileup at the first tight corner just like before?
3. High powered rwd car at the drag strip on drag tires, can you finally pull off a wheelstand like they showed back in a forza 3 trailer, or is it still a smokefest?
Edit: 4. Did they finally fix the atrocious S2000 model?

He does have a bit of a point though. The Challenger drag launch that they showed is still not possible in the game. And RWD drag cars with drag tires never really reacted as they should in F4.

That is part of the reason, and the other is because it is how the drag tires should work. They should have enough grip to cause the occasional wheelie, when all they do now is just smoke and smoke. The drag tires, even after the "fix", do not have anywhere near the right amount of grip.
So I am guessing he was asking more about the grip on drag tires than the actual importance of wheelies.
But yes, they do look awesome!

Touché about the Porsche, didn't know someone had managed to pull it off.
However I have personally never seen a Porsche doing a wheelstand in real life. The only cars that do are american muscles, and those are completely impossible in Forza. I had once gotten reaaaally close to one in a C2 Stingray in FM4, the whole car swung back on take off, but it never actually took the front wheels off the ground.
Edit: To answer the post above, no the point is not to show off doing a wheelie, it's about the grip you get on rwd cars. All my high power rwd cars had to have stupidly long gearing to not spin endlessly (120mph+ in first gear and the likes in 900hp+ cars) and even then you had to feather the throttle, the car would bog down, THEN you could give it full power, at which point you'd still get wheelspin at over 100mph, this was all kinds of wrong. While with actual drag tires and a decent suspention setup you should be able to get a decent takeoff with 900hp, and floor it after getting the takeoff grip.
So has it been fixed?
well, if one forza player, fan of drag (lets say me), supposedly asked something,
for example my first question would be if now we have a working tree, and how launches are made..
that, in my opinion, its about a hundred times more important that if you can pull wheelies or not..
so, tree? reaction times? these things fixed?
I'd guess they are the same.. but wheelies, yeah, you can pull them in f3&4 if you like

But that is seriously lousy. The worst part of FM3 was the online, because you could only do matchmaking unless you raced with friends. Matchmaking is 'ok', but user-created lobbies is seriously where the online racing shines. People talk more, they tend to race more cleanly and people can take advantage of the massive amount of options available to have all sorts of interesting(and longer than 3 lap) races.
I was sooo happy they brought it back for FM4. Beyond everything else the game did, that really helped secure it as my favourite racing game of all-time.

I would be really excited if now leaderboards had more depth and could keep best laptimes per car per class.
