so no one else besides me and a couple of people are getting this issue (fullscreen locking at 24fps regardless of settings)? dunno how people can call it a passable port otherwise.

@Jeffers727 we will lock it at 24fps for the cinematic PC experience.

I know he was joking but its kind of ironic.

I've had that, and the locking to 30hz in several games. Only way I was able to fix it was to create a custom resolution. (I'm using AMD cards, for reference.)

Uuh, looks like Rising doesn't work at all if your internet goes out or if you put Steam in offline mode. That seems... odd.

Wait

Hold the fuck on

Are you telling me this single player game has always-online DRM?

Seriously, I was planning on buying this game. Can someone confirm that the game works in offline mode/with no internet connection?

Ok, that first Girl Boss ( forgot her name ) was pretty damn awesome. And the soundtrack is fucking amazing. Starting to warm up to the game :D

Stop It

Perfectly able to grasp the inherent value of the fishing game.
Just got started with the game after sorting out my own 30hz issues through HDMI.

The game looks very very nice and so far is very smooth, I'm certainly happy so far and look forward to playing more of it.

So overall this is a decent port then?

Sounds a bit underwhelming considering this took nearly a year to come out.

It's a pretty good port. It runs well, has all the DLC, good amount of graphic options, etc. Only thing I don't like is the locked max 1080p resolution, but other than that it's great.

The windowed borderless app posted before works fine. The game is definitely not a looker but it was expected. The terrible camera however was not - I don't remember anyone mentioning this pre launch?

Run at solid 60FPS all settings at full MSAAx4 AFx4

But in Zangeki mode FPS drop as low as 29FPS. Anyone else have that problem?

CPU: Intel I7 930 2.8 OC'ed @ 4.1Ghz
GPU CARD: Nvidia MSI GTX 690
Corsair Dominator GT 6GB Ram 2000mhz

Are you really gonna post the same thing 3 times only minutes apart?

Metal Gear Rising: Scientific Drum Can Observations

Not a video I made and I mentioned it earlier, but this 'documentary' should have more recognition nonetheless. It's that frikkin' exciting, and even received ToraShiro's seal of approval!

A goon on SA made a pretty good video on the nuances of the combat system. I kinda sucked butt going right in but now I'm psyched again to jump in again.

This one deserves quoting too.

Game really needs a LOD quality setting...really distracting to see it swap models for an enemy when they're 3 feet in front of you :| It's one of the reasons I thought the 360 version was so ugly.

Just checked it, the game in fact does not play in Offline mode.

Seems like it should though... like if you try to play it offline Steam mode it tries to boot up but then doesn't and goes back to the Desktop/Steam.

From what I see, it just lets you do more cuts on something. But really it doesn't change the Zandatsu. If body parts fall to the ground/out of range you can't cut them anymore and if they "disappear" after a bit (say with the infinite blade mode wig) it's the same as cutting air/nothing.

Kinda... pointless...

The point was more cuts. For large objects this will probably work better. Also, playing at a later point in the game when the pieces amount is listed.

Stop talking about DRM. That was never part of the s-simulation. F-find Ames in the Shell 1 Core Raiden; you've g-got to hurry.

Right. I know that's the point, but my point is: It's not really changing the Zandatsu. Body parts will disappear just like they do with the normal/"low" Zandatsu in the console versions.

Go put the Infinite Blade Mode Wig on in the PS360 copy and hack and slash like you're doing here. Now do the same here.

Basically the same effect from what I'm seeing. Maybe the cut count that shows up later and showing both versions side-by-side would change my opinion, but I'm not seeing anything "WHOMG" about that setting.

Might I ask how you created a custom resolution using an AMD card?

BillGaitas posted how a little earlier in the thread.
This has pretty much worked for me on every game I've needed it. Can't test it on MGR since I don't have it yet.

To fix that problem on Crysis I created a custom resolution on AMD Catalyst. Don't know how you do it on Nvidia, but on AMD it goes like this:

  • Open Catalyst
  • Pick "My Digital Flat Panels"
  • HDTV Support
  • Add 1080p 60 NTSC, check that
  • Press add and use the arrows to create a new custom resolution. I use 1912x1076, personally.
It should now appear in the game's settings.

It is a bit difficult to see any further fragments once you've been going at it for a while. The counter will probably help. Also higher resolution shots.
