Game Informer played through MGS Ground Zeroes' main mission in [1.5hrs, not rushing]

When it was 4 hours I could justify spending $40 and trading it back to Gamestop real quick.

Now that it's 2 hours, then just fuck Konami and fuck Kojima. I hope Redbox steps up and ruins them on this one.

It would make a lot of sense if Konami had gone down the Blood Dragon and Call of Juarez route.
Games that were short, lean experiences for $15.

Konami could have even inflated that to $20-25 if they wanted to cover the cost of physical distribution and 'AAA' marketing tax.

This seems almost ridiculous though. Has Konami been a sinking ship? I thought their quarterly numbers were pretty solid.

I think the process of completing this game is actually longer then the 2 trips it would take to rent it and return it to my local video shop.

Hope its free on PS+ before Phantom Pain launches

I just want to play it because it looks like a next gen title.
$30-$40 for 2-4 hours is way too much but I did pay $50 for the mgs2 demo but at least ZOTE was good

What happens if 45 mins of that is a cut-scene?

Or is the game really 12 hours long with 2 hours of actual gameplay.

It still doesn't make it a good deal. If they can't fund a full Metal Gear Solid game anymore without overcharging for what's been described as a demo, then perhaps they need to rethink the budget of their game.

Yeah. Maybe they need to cut back on 3D scanning everything. Also that huge new development studio in LA comes to mind.

Wow, that's...pretty damn short.

That's like Telltale charging $40 for an episode of the The Walking Dead or The Wolf Among Us.

Yikes.

Less than 2 hours for $40.....so stupid. Far cry stand alone dlc for $15 was longer.....I hope people wait for a price drop seriously this is $5-10 dlc length.

Haha, oh, wow. This is too much. (Too little, actually).

Yeah, I'll wait until the actual final game comes out and this is either discounted or included with the full game.

Perhaps it'll be free on PS+ in a few months.

I would be very surprised if the content in Ground Zeroes isn't available in the Phantom Pain release.

Konami just hasn't officially announced its inclusion as a smoke screen to increase the value of the Ground Zeroes product. They have enough trouble justifying GZ's existence currently.

You know, ok.

The game is two hours long.

Fine.

But then don't fucking lock extra content on EACH of the platforms to make it even more goddamned meager. This is the part that actually pisses me off about this.

Holy shit, I just burst out laughing when I saw the updated title. Hilariously devastating.

I was so hyped for this and the Phantom Pain, fucking hell.

They got a paycheck from the platform holders for that inclusion. Bad for consumers, good deal for Konami.

I"m either hoping for that or a "complete" edition of Phantom Pain.

May just look up the cutscenes on youtube and just buy phantom pain.

There's almost undoubtedly going to be an essentials/legacy collection or w/e later with both parts included on one disc anyways.

Uhh, so is there are reason why it's priced $24 dollars in Japan, while we in the west get to fork out $40 for a 2 hour demo?

I thought it was usually the other way around. :D

Holy shit, they say they got the idea from DR: Case Zero but clearly they didn't they didn't know the fucking price of Case Zero. Case Zero was $5 and an hour or so long versus $40 for 2 hours.

What a rip off. I'm not one to support people losing jobs due to failing products, buy I hope this bombs if only so they get the message.

People who played GZ will be prompted if they want to start at GZ or TPP at MGSV's start screen, surely.

If Konami is a sinking ship, I cant imagine their failings apply to Kojipro in particular. A new Los Angeles branch of Kojipro was recently opened to work on Metal Gear Online 3, and its a pretty nice looking facility.

I played the 5min demo of MGS3D for 15h, so I would be fine with it. But since I can't justify the decision to sell a 2h preview for $40 I won't buy it (yes Detective GAF, $40 for 4h would have been fine with me).

Thanks for reminding me that renting is an option. I'll just do that

Maybe that was his intention though? "That games and the way games are distributed change, like the times. Hardware will change, software will change, but shilling? You must be willing to live and die for videogame franchises, that's our calling, that's why we exist. Being a shill Jack is more than avoiding truths and creating lies, you must carry a emotion into battle."

Batzi has taught us being a shill is not worth our lives, we must rebel and thrive on our own merits alone, welcome to inner heaven.

Hah. Hahahaha. 10/10!

This is clearly terrible value for money, but in the past people have bought games they don't care about simply for a bundled demo - often Konami games. This time Konami are saving you the trouble and just selling you the demo directly.

I wonder how much replay value it has?

I might just wait and get a used copy. With a playtime like that, I have a feeling people will be trading it back fairly quickly to get store credit. It's not like there is some Metal Gear Online mode as an incentive to keep it either.

I will wait until PP launches for sure now. This seems like such a huge ripoff.
